I'm most excited for that linking feature. I play swtor with people I know IRL, including family (my brother) and it would be cool to be able to set him as my brother in-game, and my friends as allies. I'm not sure if they'll make it that in depth, or just a marriage thing, but it would be cool. I'm looking forward to seeing this game mature and given the fact that Bioware is an awesome studio I think it'll only get better.

lol... any opportunity for trolls to be trolls is taken I see. (specifically this guy, not the rest of you cool dudes, I agree on waiting for hardware, if you can manage, I myself would rather spend the cash now and enjoy it sooner, but to each their own.) The OPs question was about getting upgrades that would help him get better FPS with a reasonable budget in mind. Based on the system that he posted, the upgrades I suggested while slightly over his budget are still reasonable, and the graphics card I suggested will do the job quite well. (I've even included a couple of "slideshows" for your viewing pleasure) You can knock it all you like, but the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. I'd never claim that its the best card, but for the pricing it works damn well for SWTOR. BTW, The gittering thats in the videos is the video itself, it doesn't do that in-game, take my word for it or don't lol. I would have liked to show an actual PvP match, unfortunately at 4 am EST its difficult to get a warzone match up on my server. These are from Boarding Party, got a few mobs together in one place to show it can handle it pretty easily, PvP is very similar. First video will be uploaded to youtube and its processing.. should be done within the hour. The others & the original version of the one being sent to youtube are being uploaded to my webserver now, but are full size, high res avi's @ between 280-500mb, those will be there in a couple hours. doesn't an ops group do that? I could be wrong, but if you convert to an ops group, will it not persist through warzones? I'm pretty new to PvP, so forgive me.

I had a similar rig, and tbh, upgrading the video card (i had a 8600 GT, 512 MB, upgraded to a 430 GT) did nothing for me, max 5 FPS improvement and still unplayable in PVP areas. If you can afford it, spend a little more and get an amd bulldozer x4 3.6, (around 129ish here.), a new board, and if that ram is DDR 3 keep it, or get another 8 gb for around $50. I just did that, spent $250 in total and noticed a world of difference with this game. My Geforce 430 GT, 1gb ram was cheap, only about $80, but it gives me 20-25FPS on fleet with 100+ people, max settings with this rig instead of 5-7 with the old x3 phenom.. Give it a shot. My new rig: Asus M5A78L-M LX PLUS AMD Bulldozer 4100 @ 3.6ghz, Quad Core 8GB Kingston HyperX RAM GeForce 430GT 1GB Total for all the upgrades was closer to $300, (with tax) so a bit over your budget, but it'll do the trick.
