  1. Thank you sir, I have edited the post But OP's and Flashpoints arent even what I would call "Content" I mean when another game adds new content its entire quest lines, new lands etc etc. It's something that will take you more than a few houyrs of goofing off with. Another FP and another OP.....ok a few hours or maybe a day and thats it. And so far they have only said they are going to give us 1 new op and a WZ in the next big patch......really? thats it?? Granted after laying off all those devs I can see why you cant get anything done... but..nonetheless... The present model of F2P that they are going to use simply will no generate ANY revenue. Not when you can go to 50 for free and experience all the meaningful story quests and planet content. Has anyone at EA thought of this? I mean someone should have asked the most obvious question when the idea of "Hey we will go f2p and sell stuff in our store for money"....."What stuff sir? All we have is 4 OPS and some FP's" I just cant fathom they havent considered they arent going to have hardly anything worth a constant stream of dollars to sell. TO make money in a capitalist system...you need products that someone will keep giving you their Capital for...
  2. We have received one OP (Denova) two Flashpoints (Lost Island and Kaon under Seige) and one Warzone. Since release in Dec. Pretty sad considering none of those are what I would call a lot of Content. Would have taken a lot lot more. But even if there were 5 more ops and 5 more warzones and 5 more flashpoints...being that the rewards would all be for the gear...once you have that..theres no need to keep on. For example My juggy...he is geared (pve) to the point that the only thing I can do to get any further needed gear is Denova SM or HM. And with the lockout system (which is utterly silly to me with only 3 ops) once I am done getting that gear....what then? Unfortunately...nothing. We need more. Entire planets with many zones...tons of epic fights, a different reward system etc. Something to keep us busy and happy
  3. The reason why SWTOR is losing subs faster and faster and I mean in a literal pusling stream of blood from a cut jugular is simple and we all know it. No End Game Content. Going F2P will NOT solve this in any way shape or form. In the method Bioware has outlined it will be it will NOT generate ANY revenue. The reason? It doesnt address any of the reason that the people left to begin with. No End Game. Sure players will come back and play...for free..but they arent going to shell out any cash ffor anything that wasnt ever fixed. You cant compare the F2P model of LOTRO with what Bioware is going to do..sure it was successful for them, but it wont be here. The reason again is simple. CONTENT In LOTRO there is massive content to purchase...weeks and weeks and months worth of content to purchase from their store. SWTOR wont have that.....you'll be able to buy what? 4 ops maybe some flashpoints? REALLY?? Please.... The solution however could in fact be simple. I have read these pvp forums and a lot of the myriad of problems people cite could be resolved with the same solution Bioware is a sister company to Mythic, and Mythic had a game called Dark Age of Camelot. Now DAoC had a host of issues...the one thing it did in stellar fashion, the was the best then, and now still has been beatein, is the way they addresses mass pvp. PVP rewards first werent gear based. Some drops from raids were awesome but the majority of gear used was crafted and customizable. THis made crafters always viable, this made the pvp more skill based not gear based as the general set of gear used was accessable by all. You didnt need 2 sets of gear for pve and pvp. One did all. The reward system was myriad, you accumulated points to be spent on abilities, and ranks that improved your character not his gear. Also through this accumulation you earned titles that the enemy could see, the boards kept up with a variety of accomplishments like most kills..I remain stading score etc etc. The best thing, was the mass pvp system itself....an area outside the pve zones that was 24/7 PERSISTANT pvp....with objectives to take and hold with rewards to your faction given out depending on how many of those objectives you and your faction held. We are talking fortresses, seige weapons, scaling walls etc etc etc. It was nothing to see 300 vs 300, 50 vs 50 and yes 8 vs 8 down to 1 on 1's. This was for the most part the end game for DAoC, and though the game has gone by the wayside for the most part that part of the game kept it alive and well for YEARS. Sure..you pve..raids...massive mobs dragons demon princes etc etc...you also had a persistant massive area of pvp that never ended, and since it wasnt gear based rewards there was in all practicality no ceiling. Something like this in SWTOR would give it the longevity for subs that it desperately needs. Fishbowl scenarios that people get bored of repeating over and over and over within a very short time arent going to cut it. Gear based rewards mean there is a most DEFINATE hard ceiling as far as how far one can go. Now I think Arena and scenarios are great if they exist in ADDITION to something bigger and better so that all flavors can be experienced depending on the players mood at the time. These kind options mean a long paying happy customer...mmo playewrs like diversity in experienced, not to be handed the same thing over and over and over within a very short period of time. This is what we presently have. So a F2P model isnt going to solve anything...in experience or revenue if you dont have anything worthy to buy. Change the pvp mechanics, overhaul the reward system..get rid of pve and or pvp only gear!!! AND most importantly find a way to create a MEANINGFULL mass pvp system such as DAoC had. And I'll say it again, having this will GREATLY increase SWTOR's longevity to paying subs..REVENUE!!!!! CASH....GREENBACKS!! Your present F2P (the one coming up) you get to go to level 50...experience the entire story line!! The only thing a sub gets is a cpl of ops and WZ's? Not wise as it doesnt give us a lot of reasons to keep giving you revenue when we can experience the stories (which presently are the best thing in the game) for free. Also remember...the same.....the first 2 words are..STAR WARS...cept...wheres the WAR? the present system is like not even boroder skirmishes and yet at level 50 the story tells us the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic are in a all out state of war.....umm...where? Think about is Bioware..if you read these....I really think it would go a long way for revenue. W'rath

  5. When you only have a couple of ops, and you have done over and over and over you get bored..you want something different, but unfortunately its all there is. BOREDOMW (sp?) is what kills the gaming experience. Frued I think it was defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over and over and expecting different results. Offering us another warzone and another op to me sort of falls along those lines. We need more.
  6. Well I cant say I am happy about hearing about this. To be honest I am utterly dissapointed. I have been reading the forums, the pro's and cons and I think a lot of the pros are being just rabid fans..but thats ok, their allowed to be. My major set of fears here are myriad. Bioware stated they were hoping to lure a lot of the alomst 1,000,000 subs they have lost since peak 1.7 mill by this model. What to me they havent thought about is this WHY THEY LEFT! Sure, they will come back and play...for free..no money for bioware, why would they suddenly start paying for a game that has not changed any of the mistakes that exist for which was the reason they left to begin with?? The game is essentially the same it was, with the same things that are great and the same things that are causing the game to bleed subs like a cut jugular. Here is what I think the problems are: The game is totally focussed (and wonderful by the way) for the leveling from 1-50 experience, and thats it. Bioware was and still is totally unprepared, or just plain oblivious to the fact that end game is so lacking that it alone is whats causing the entire game to fail in the manner we are seeing. Once you get to 50...other than grinding for gear...and then the next tier of gear...and the next...theres nothing meaningfull to do. What are you going to do when you have all the rakata/blackhole gear? Nothing...thats it..your done. PVP is more or less a total joke as well..this is STAR WARS..except...wheres the War? We have this fishbowl combat of small teams where its a battle is only going to last what maybe 20 mins? Its a small...timed...meaningless objectives and for what? Oh more gear...that once you get all of...you have no more reason to do it. Biowares answer...reroll...ok they have to be completely out of touch to think that was an acceptable answer. They needed to be prepared for end game. more warzones that we have all already seen a million times and another OP or two (which we will have already seen a million times before 2 weeks are out) simply is not going to cut it. Bioware isnt even putting a decent band aid on the wound much less adressing the cause. Gear rewards for pvp was a short sighted and no vision method. What surprises me is here they are sister company to Mythic..DAoC and they didnt borrow one single thing from the most highly acclaimed mass pvp system ever done in an mmo. Baffles me. I had high hopes, I though they would figure this out, reeallly look at the causes and make some very badly needed mega changes. Meaningfull open world pvp...with a different reward system other than gear, with meaningfull objectives etc would have gone a looooong way with keeping level 50's active and busy. Like taking over planets and whoever has the most planets has a faction wide effect etc etc, the planets each having multiple bunkers with turrets bridges, cities etc etc etc. Somewthing people not what we have now. The bottom line is the lack of real content (because warzones and an op or two dont cut it) at end game. Now with F2P I am feeling they have given up. We wont now ever see the changes that are needed to get back the almost 1 million PAYING subs or even grow beyond. To me this is like hearing the death knell of what I had hoped to be the greatest game of the decade and now less than 1 year out they throw in the towel and go into more or less mantenance mode. They are giving us another war zone and an op...more of what has shown isnt working. And dont tell me they have been doing so well..every positive thing you can come up with all I have to do is point at almost 1 million lost paying subs inside the first year after hitting peak. Bioware..your execs have no idea how to handle an mmo, its players, its community and its future. A lack of vision has been the single key element in taking you to where you presently are. Which last I looked was a huge loss in stock value over this decision in only 24 hours. That means no faith in the product. end game, end game, end game. And rerolling is never an answer to give your player base. We need real end game. You want those paying subs back? Then fix the reasons they left to begin with, sure the players might come back, but their money wont. Why would they? The best thing you have is the storyline and now the f2p players can have that and not give you one red cent. Stop with the warzones and ops..make real end game. I am not hating on SWTOR. I want to see this game outshine all others...man I dream of it. I wanted to be there when it did. Now...I just dont know. Depressed Fan
