  1. I doubt they'd ever dare tinker with the Star Wars fixation on monobiome planets, but seasons (where relevant) and day/night cycles would be nice.
  2. Again, you're taking a bunch of information and connections that you as an outside observer of the Star Wars franchise know and care about and projecting it on to the characters, insisting that it must also be important and relevant to them regardless of the lack of evidence or reason that it would be.
  3. Uh, yes, thank you for the detailed explanation of all the reasons Tatooine and Skywalker are important to the FANS, not to the characters themselves...but that was kind of my point.
  4. I guess he shouldn't have sold his baby to white slavers in a fit of pique then. Honestly, I'll always be grateful to George for giving us Star Wars, but between the endless 'Special Edition' meddling and the Prequels, at this point I don't think it's actually controversial to say that the OT owes a lot of its success to the fact that he couldn't do a lot of the stuff he wanted to. Whether due to budget and technical limitations, or because at the time he wasn't THE George Lucas, and there were people around able and willing to tell him no and critique his ideas. With all that said, the Sequels are a hot mess, and it's painfully clear that Disney did not actually have anything resembling a plan for what they wanted the trilogy to be, and made about the worst choices possible for directors/writers to do it. Abrams only talent is repackaging and polishing the work done by more talented people and selling it to a new audience, and Johnson is much too in love with sUbvErtIng ExpEctAtIoNs regardless of whether it is actually narratively satisfying. So you had two directors who don't fit the project playing plot tug of war due to the lack of any coherent creative vision or oversight...and the results are pretty much what you'd expect.
  5. I might be willing to buy that, if not for the fact nobody else has actually gotten any new options either. I mean really, what have they added since launch? A handful of hairstyles that work for 'regular' humanoid heads, a couple of eye colors, and...? No new Miraluka masks, no new hair/horn/tattoo options for Zabraks, no new Cybernetics, etc. etc. This is like bread and butter cash shop stuff, but 8 years later Bioware still has no idea how to MMO.
  6. And it's still just tiresome nonsense and arbitrary justification because people would rather trample all over the original story than accept that their pet characters bit the dust. It's clear and unambiguous that Yoda meant that Luke and Leia were it, period, no more Jedi, no hope for anything without them. But all these fanboys and people with their pet OC's want to find wiggle room and excuses to go, "Actally, there were tons of random *** Jedi and ex-Jedi and Padawans and Force Users and this that and the other running around, tons of which Yoda was perfectly well aware of...but they weren't calling themselves Jedi, or didn't have the secret decoder ring, or were behind on their dues, so therefore Yoda just sort of glossed over them when he said Luke and Leia were all that was left."
  7. Like most new "content" I could care less about the Dark vs. Light system, but if they want to tinker with it they could start by fixing the tiers. Some people do actually enjoy doing the vanilla class story stuff, where some things are affected by your alignment tier, which is now completely borked by the tier changes. If they must do something to encourage people to grind for DvL, add new tiers with the heightened requirements that won't interfere with the vanilla story.
  8. Never. Unfortunately. I mean really, how is this in any way fun for people? "I like the game, I just want to be able to skip 90% of it and never at any point be at any risk or have to apply any skill or thought to it at all..."
  9. Uh...err....hmm. Pretty cool that they finally let you set your companion to whatever role you like now. Though kind of voided by the fact that you'd be silly to do anything but set them to their God-tier Healer mode and thus completely remove all risk from the game and any need to group with anyone for anything other than needing to press switches. Actually fairly surprised that those are still there, given Biowares commitment to ensuring that you never have to put any effort into the game or cooperate with other people for any reason.
  10. Having just come back from a couple years away and spent a couple of days refamiliarizing myself with the game and the changes, I've come to the conclusion that Biowares target aduience now is people who are: 1. The most casual of casual players who don't ever want to have to put any effort of any kind into the game. I mean damn, this game was never terribly difficult, but now the second you get your first comp and set them to healing mode I'm pretty sure you could put your keyboard in your bed and clear entire planets overnight just by rolling around in your sleep. 2. People who in spite of their commitment to putting no effort into the game at all are very happy to pay a monthly subscription for the privilege of not having to do anything 3. People who in spite of their commitment to not having to put effort into the game are ready willing and happy to continue subscribing indefinitely to mindlessly grind forever for the pure dumb luck RNG gearing system. Now from a business perspective I get that these people are like the Unicorns of MMO customers...but the problem is I suspect that they're about as common.
  11. Honestly I consider JK to be the absolute bottom of the barrel story wise purely for the unending cheese. I'd put Agent easily at the top of the list which most people agree, and which most people seem to disagree I'd actually put the Consular story pretty high up there as well. Most of the rest of the stories I put about equal, I don't particularly love any of them, but they all have their moments and interesting bits.
  12. Yes, it would be pretty much silly and nonsensical for all these Jedi and rebel heroes to still be around but just..apparently decided to retire right at the critical time in the fight against the Empire and the Sith. And yeah people can handwave and make excuses and mumble about 'certain point of view...they weren't really Jedi then..something something.' but that's really only apt in the sense that Obi-Wans original speech about 'certain point of view' was in itself meant cover up the retcon from Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader being two completely seperate people in ANH to being one and the same in ESB script rewrites.
  13. There is no 'good' way to get out of the corner Bioware has painted themselves into with the brilliant decision to have every individual character become the all powerful ruler of an all powerful third mono-faction Empire. But, having railroaded us into it, railroading us back out by having us help the Republic/Empire set up the Eternal Empire for destruction would be the least bad option, so we can get back to the actual Star Wars based game I paid to play.
  14. Do Datacrons still give stat bonuses? To what, Mastery? I thought as part of the great dumbing down that has apparently taken place over the last couple of years they were all just one time legacy achievements?
