I keep seeing people say that one option is to have a valour rank of 40, mine is 72 but it still asks me to do 20 warzones. Really don't fancy jumping in to a warzone with zero pvp gear.

But you can level for free to 50...so you willing to sub for operations and a few more fashpoints?

This game needs some sort of veteran reward system. There is not a huge amount of difference between the f2p and getting peeps to cough up and sub. Maybe rewarding the people who do sub via a veteran system would help. Every 3 months you earn a in game reward, pets,mounts,gear etc.

it all will rest on what is removed from the game and placed into the cash shop.

A free token that puts everything in the cash shop back into the game so i can get it without spending more then i do with an active sub.

Problem is you get more lock boxes that you can afford to buy keys for, hence more lock boxes = real money to buy keys after you have used up your allocated cartel tokens.

Random chests drop that need keys to be opened which can only be bought via the cash shop.

Well it looks like they lost a hell of a lot of subs if we are now facing f2p
