  1. While true, does that matter more than fun and excitement? This game has never been viewed as particularly challenging or balanced, why start now? I don't have the quote, and certainly don't care enough to find it, but the Devs did indicate at one point that these new changes in 6.0 would help us play in "our way". I think it was more about amplifiers, but the OP certainly makes a reasonable point. Why are we still locked into this gear treadmill 20 years after most MMO's realized that was for a niche audience? I can understand why at the beginning of a new content cycle the gear and bonuses might be fairly limited, to extend the time to beat new content. However, that's not what happens here. All content is either beat immediately or never, depending on player skill. There's never been a point where I got better gear and then was able to go back and beat content I couldn't before. In fact, most of my top achievements for ops were in the first few weeks of release of each op. So, I actually agree with the OP. Put out an armor of unlimited power. Release the VAPAAD lightsaber. Let's see some fun items.
  2. Nope, I joined about 8 of the large SF guilds that advertise about doing story mode ops. In about 4 months, during quarantine mind you, I've seen 1 GFTM ops advertised and it didn't happen. I've seen 0 of the new DXUN ops advertised. Each guild that started promising with 3 or so ops a week all dropped off rapidly from fatigue. Now they generally do 1 ops a week, but constantly do silly stuff like world bosses or rampages. These are large, well known SF guilds. Did find my way into a DXUN one via a pug on fleet 1 time. It seemed like an interesting ops, but just tuned too hard for the casual groups. We beat 1 boss after 3 or 4 wipes and group disbanded. Not exactly the experience I'm looking for. That's why I refuse to join any type of set group. They all are based around progression raiding where you wipe as many times as necessary for about 2 hours a night. That's not my idea of fun at all. I want to finish the raid every time I start and do so in 2 hours at most. That was easy to do at launch, even on hard mode, but now it seems everyone has forgotten that. Hopefully there's at least some story update around the corner. If I understood correctly 6.2 should be actual playable content, not just a cut scene.
  3. I bought a 2 month sub in May, hoping we'd have some content by then. Since it's apparent that we will not, I guess I'll just allow that to lapse and re-subscribe when we do. Look, I want to pay for this game. I've been here since launch. But the production pace has fallen to near 0 and I can't justify paying a subscription to keep playing the same content since launch. Nearly every operation run is EV through ToS, mostly just EV and KP. The newest operations are simply too hard for the casual playerbase. The majority of groupfinder pops are launch FP's, specifically the lower level ones. I'm tired of playing that content only. Please tweak the more modern content to be as easy as the launch content so that we all can actually get groups for it.
  4. So you're good enough to be invited to NiM content, even if you don't love it and do it often. So, you are in about the 98% percentile of skill in this game. Of course you are doing fine. What about the person who is in the bottom 10% of skill and just wants to have fun? Do you think this expansion is going well for them? Everyone deserves to complete story mode easily. It's not called easy mode, it's story mode, meaning you are just there for the story not gameplay.
  5. I'd be cool with having 1 gear tier that drops along the way by completing the storyline and nothing above that. I have never seen hamster wheel gearing as being good for MMO's attracting players and ultimately making money. Maybe you think MMO's are a booming business right now but I don't think that's the industry consensus. Have gear drops be for fun, not for stats. Amplifiers could be a cool way to do that and I'd have much more fun with things that let you customize for fun instead of optimizing DPS/etc.
  6. I agree that the content in endgame is incredibly stale right now. I attribute that to the following a) too long since the last expansion b) too little included in any of the expansions we've received c) the majority of the group content requiring too much time to complete. The modern player will play the shortest content over and over rather than risking a failure on a longer and harder piece of content. I see this on nearly every Looking for Group request since level sync was implemented.
  7. I have no interest in new story. I want good story based on traditional Star Wars content. Malgus was good story and appears to be heading that way again.
  8. Does that somehow make his question an unfair one? Simple things shouldn't take months.
  9. Bioware needs to offer us something to do in September. They already have many of our subscriptions in the form of multi-month subscriptions but have offered almost no patches this year. I don't pay to access the game, that can be done as a preferred player. I pay for ongoing content. None has been delivered in a reasonable amount of time. I will 100% change my purchasing behavior because of this decision. It's not right in my opinion, and as the paying customer I will exercise my right to buy less going forward.
  10. Play through a class level 1 to end of your class story that you don't plan to be your main. that way you don't have to worry about rotations changing.
  11. any grade below 11 is basically only for conquest though. Will we still be trying to craft our way to conquest or will the best use of those materials be changing to crafting for players to use in regular content? There's always a ton to think through and without exact math it's hard to say.
  12. They need to add a nice full expansion, otherwise nobody will be logged in and no amount of tweaks to the fleet would help. As for a tweak, I heard they are adding speeders to the fleet to get around easier.
  13. Yes, I'm quite familiar with him. As you may recall from the books, the character is referred to as Thrawn in the Empire because nobody would be able to pronounce Mitth’raw’nuruodo. Not too different from what I'm saying. If you can't pronounce something, it's quite possible that you might have trouble comprehending and remembering that name as well. Here's a direct quote from the character's creator: https://www.starwars.com/news/timothy-zahn-star-wars-thrawn-novel-interview
