The space station has a companion gift vendor if you don't want to run with a specific companion, but still want to get points.

A light side sith would just do what's best for the Sith Empire on the whole. He or she could still be bad, but they just wouldn't kill without a purpose.

For a sentinel I'd probably go synthweaving for jedi armor, and at level 15 that's a good starting point. Any lower and you can't find any of the nodes to harvest, and sending your companion on missions is a money losing endeavor. For the gathering professions with synthweaving the better options would be archeology and underworld trading.
