  1. To add to this; I've been sending my companions out on Slicing missions and they will return, it will tell me that the mission was a SUCCESS, and I will receive a skill up point for a successful mission but I am getting NO rewards what so ever. No lock boxes, no tech parts, no nothing. I really hope they get on this issue. Can't do crafting without parts.
  2. Actually, I agree with the OP here. This is a very strange play. I was also unable to pre-order before 7 Jan, and when I log in I can see nothing of the new content. I fully understand not being able to go to Makeb, or even not being able to level up to 55, or even not being able to level my crewskills, however, I find it very strange that I cannot even SEE any of the new things, like the recipes up to the new crewskill level cap, or the new skill trees/abilities. People keep asking me, "Hey, what do you think of this...?" etc, because they know I've had the expansion purchased for a while now and I keep having to reply with, "I have no idea, I can't even see it...". It seems very strange to basically have players running around with two different UI views, one old, one new. I would think it would have been much more streamlined even for Bioware to put it ALL in at once and then restrict access, (like every other MMO). For example, WoW. My friend recently resubbed to WoW. He DID NOT have Pandaria purchased, yet he could still see all the new talents/abilities/restructure his character the SAME way that someone who DID have Pandaria could do. He could level his character to 90 even if he wanted to, all WITHOUT having ever purchased Pandaria. Pretty much the only things he CAN'T do are make a panda/monk character, and/or go to Pandaria/the new areas. So to say that 'every mmo ever' does this would be entirely incorrect. This decision to break things up this way seems very strange, and disappointed to those people who DID pre-order, just not by some arbitrary date. Personally I think that ALL paying subscribers, especially those who have played since launch and never un-subbed, should have access to the early start. But that's just me...
  3. Correction - There are six quests, only TWO of these six are listed as PVP. YES, you can be flagged as pvp WHILE doing the pve dailies, IF you use AOEs around ANYONE, your faction or not, who is flagged for pvp. Simple fix, if you don't want to pvp, DONT use AOEs around flagged people and DONT do the TWO pvp quests, just do the pve quests and watch where you shoot. Also... there's a LOT to not like about pvp when the people on your OWN faction are destroying you in massive groups rather than helping you defeat your ENEMY, aka, the OTHER faction. But that all boils down to crappy players who take more joy in griefing than playing the game.
  4. One small point. You're aware that the new planet and new race and all that is an EXPANSION, not a DLC.... right? The Rise of the Hutt Cartel = Wrath of the Lich King It's an EXPANSION. That's why subscribers have to pay for it. Just like how Blizzard charged it's players for their expansions, Bioware is charging use for their expansions. Also... F2P pays 20$ for the expansion, subscribers pay 10$ for it. So we are getting a deal for subscribing, not being nickel and dimed.
  5. While I can agree that the 'being able to attack your same faction' is stupid, I didn't have difficulty at all when I went to do my dailies out there. While working on the non pvp ones, I did notice that there were flagged members of my own faction out there, so I simply did not use my AOE, thus not making myself attackable to them. While working on the pvp dailies, the philosophy on my server seemed simple. Live and let live. I didn't attack anyone and no one attacked me. Sadly there are jerks, both in our own factions and not, who will use any excuse to ruin some one else's gaming experience. In the mean time, I'd just suggest caution to anyone using AOEs, they're better left unused during these dailies.
  6. As an FYI, All of the Galactic Reputation is SHARED across ALL your characters, just like Legacy experience, no matter what their level. What this means is.... I can take my lvl 50 Jedi Sentinel out and do, say, all the dailies for the Gree Enclave and eventually quest until that character is MAXED out in reputation with the Gree Enclave. Then I can log onto my level 12 Imperial Sniper and BAM!, he will ALSO have maxed out reputation with the Gree Enclave. Now... all I have to do is take him to Ilum, take a simple flight path out to the Gree Vendor, and buy the epic looking sniper rifle they have for him. And there you have it, low level characters benefiting from a high level event.
  7. Ilum. Gree Quests. Champion level reputation with the Gree Enclave.
  8. Just got done doing the new Gree quests on Ilum and I had no issue with anyone attacking me. Spent over two hours out there helping people/guildies. Everyone seemed to be operating on a 'live and let live' philosophy. I didn't attack anyone and no one attacked me. I do feel badly for those playing on servers where you get attacked by your own faction, that's crappy.
  9. This is actually helpful. Thank you very much.
  10. I agree with you that this event should either be longer than two weeks, or that we should at least know WHEN the event will return, since this event is, apparently, recurring. A bit of good news for you though... Any reputation you get is shared across ALL of your characters, just like Legacy EXP. You don't have to go and run through all the dailies with one character and then go and run it all again with another character. I just got two thirds of the way to Newcomer with the Gree Enclave on my Jedi Guardian, when I log into my Jedi Sentinel, he is ALSO two thirds of the way to Newcomer. There is no need for you to repeat events. Grab one character and go go go, for the next fourteen days. ALSO MEANING - I can run the SAME dailies I JUST did on my Guardian, now on my Sentinel and get MORE Rep with both of them. So I could get 'three days' worth of daily Rep, in one day. (As I have three level 50s).
  11. Means, what exactly? I'm curious because it's already been stated that the Gree Event will last for 14 days, yet by the loose math my roommate has done, it will take over 18 days to get enough Rep for certain rewards, (without the benefit of the Operation and whatever rep that grants). As I'm sure is not shocking, most of us work, most of us have families, etc. Is there any chance that we could get more information on the 'recurring' schedule? As in, "This event will run for 14 days, then disappear, then reappear a week later for 14 more days", or, "This event will return once a month for every month in 2013", some thing like this would do wonders for people who have limited game time and would like to coordinate with either their schedules or guilds. Thanks in advance, Love, Information is Epic.
  12. I agree and disagree. I, (personally), find the restrictions on F2P to be far more restrictive than necessary, especially when compared to the F2P models of other MMOs that give you ways to expand your F2P experience over time and through purchases while still NOT requiring a monthly sub. Champions Online is a prime example of this. I had a paid account with them at one point, but then I cut it back to a free account and lost access to some of my characters, HOWEVER, I could still purchase the ability to access them again WITHOUT having to pay a full sub. Currently, here on SWTOR, if you're F2P, you get two characters, period, that's it, end of story, throw a hundred bucks at them, they don't care, two is all you ever get, EVER. I think that's a bit extreme. If a F2P player is willing to PAY YOU to get more character slots, why the hell say no? Clearly because you don't want the profits. NOW, in lieu of all the above, I have heard MANY people say, "You know, the restrictions on the F2P are a bit much, but I do really like what I'm seeing, so I'm going to sub in order to get MORE of the game." In that respect, Bioware is 'doing it right'. But that's about the only way they're doing so. The customer service issues and the insane glitches that are making it so that people who are giving Bioware money are NOT receiving what they pay for, is utterly unacceptable. People want to BUY game time. They want to BUY subs. They want to BUY cartel coins. They are throwing money at Bioware right now, and all of these glitches are basically saying, "NOPE, we don't want your money!" These glitches are what will destroy the game, before any in game glitch. A game with crappy/non-existent Customer Service, and that takes your money but does not give you the product you pay for, is no good, no matter how good it is IN GAME. I love this game to death, I love Bioware to death, and while I'm not turning my back on them for this, (as I personally feel that EA is responsible for the majority of these financial/customer service issues), I do sincerely hope that they correct the issues and FAST.
  13. I don't know, but I seemed to follow all of the post just fine. You sure you read it? Clearly the OP attempted to trade a relic with a guildie, DID NOT hit the trade button, yet suddenly the trade window closed and the item in the window vanished and is unaccounted for by both parties involved. And obviously this has been confirmed by both people involved in the trade or there wouldn't be an issue to write to a GM about. In any case, submitting a ticket and getting it closed and labeled as 'SPAM' when the ticket explains the issue AND includes the ticket reference number from a prior in game ticket is utterly unacceptable. So the responsibility for a concise, and helpful, response to this issue, clearly at this point lies with Tech Support.
  14. Actually if you read my post, I did say that I'm SURE there will be MORE stuff in the future, but that the initial list, AKA, what you can see right now, is a tad skimpy. /salute I'm not bashing, I'm just making honest comments.
  15. Random, 'oh you 'might' get this if you take a gamble with your cartel coins', drops. No thanks. I'd like, as I'm sure the majority of other players would, a comprehensive list of what they can buy, so they can click it, buy it and move on with their day. And yes, I have no doubt that they'll add more pets over time, possibly even before the live version launches. My initial reactions/comments are simply that the current list is noticeably skippy on desireable items.
