  1. Curious about GSF, the Mechanics, the Rewards ? Want to know more but you feel let down by the poor Tutorial ? Want to know how to Hit your Targets and avoid getting Hit ? We've all been there, it can be frustrating. There are already Phenomenal Resources, Video Tutorials (such as Despon's ' ' Series) and Guides that have been produced by the GSF Community, I'm certain several will be linked below. However, we wanted to do something slightly different. This Saturday, 08/07/2017, Iota Squadron (ImpSide) and Vermillion Squadron (RepSide) will be providing Training, Advice, Build Deconstruction and Mentoring in the various situations a Pilot can encounter. Gunship Walls, Scout Swarms, Tick-Bombers... Recapturing Satellites, Establishing Map Control as well as answering your questions on any Topic including Gearing and, how with 5.2.2 the so-called 'Gear-Gap' can be reduced relatively swiftly. CFS Attendees will be orientated to our Discord Server, which will be the Hub of this particular Event, hopefully part of a series of similar events. Why are we doing this ? Well, with the recent changes introduced with 5.2.2, there's been a regain of interest, as well as the recrudescence of questions about Accuracy, Evasion, Tracking as well as the issue of Tick-Bombers, Class-Stacking and similar issues. What we would like to promote with the CFS is more awareness with regards to the methods of countering such things and reducing some of the frustration that can arise from feeling relatively powerless. On Sunday 02/07/2017, on The Progenitor, ImpSide and RepSide, we ran a Trial of this Event with a number of Guilds that we are friendly with and, by and large, the CFS was an unmitigated success, hopefully we can reiterate it with this one and coming events. So. * Who ? Myself, Baudran/Aarolt, Anuxia, Setej, Yo-Wan/Wan-Yo and others will be your Primary Flight Instructors, all are welcome to attend in the spirit of the Event. * What ? GSF Training : Fundamentals, Builds, Strategies and Tactics. Discussion, Q&A & Flying. * When ? Saturday 8th of July. From Reset to 20:00 BST * Where ? The Progenitor, ImpSide and, depending on numbers, RepSide * Why ? Because we kinda like GSF, and we want to see more of those tense, nervy, adrenaline inducing close games and as a whole, we want to help people who may be intimidated by the Game Mode to understand. For those who are interested, I can be reached either here, or on the excellent GSF Discord, set up by Sriia, which really helps with Cross-Server Communication and wider GSF Discussion Looking forward to it and to use the mottos of Vermillion and Iota Squadrons... 'Never Fly Alone' and 'Fly Victoriously.'

  3. Many thanks to all who attended as well as the Vermillion Pilots who have helped make the Squadron and what it is and worked so hard to make this Party happen. I hope you enjoyed yourself and look forward to seeing more GSF Action in 2017, as ever, feedback is appreciated so we can work towards something similar albeit improved in the future. Cordially, Respectfully, Baudran Amelion.
  4. Just a reminder, The EOY GSF Party is today, 27th December, RepSide on The Progenitor (EU). We'll be starting at around 20:00 UK Time and going on into the Night. To join, just get in touch with one of the Vermillion Squadron Pilots via /who or the GSF Channel (/cjoin gsf) Prizes will be distributed for remarkable performances (especially in Stock) via Nomination and Acclamation. There'll also be a few Pop quizzes to test your Strafighter-Related Trivia. Hopefully we'll see you there. Cordially, Respectfully, Baudran Amelion, Commanding Officer, Vermillion Squadron.
  5. Dear Pilots, By the present missive, you are hereby formally invited to The Progenitor's Divine Tempest for a Party, Organised by Vermillion Squadron, to celebrate GSF and the Seasonal Festivities. The Party will begin at 20:00 GMT, on the 27th of December in the Crew Lounge of the Divine Tempest, Vermillion Squadron's Flagship Valour-Class Cruiser. Once assembled, we will proceed to create an OPS Group and Solo Queue the night away. Prizes from Vermillion Squadron's Extensive GSF Vaults will be given for the Best Costume, as part of an ongoing Quiz that will be held to test your Starfighter Knowledge and for the best performances in utterly ridiculous builds. Hoping to see you here fellow pilots, so we can enjoy an evening of fun, discussion and GSF, especially considering the spectacular nature of certain Starfighter Scenes in a recent Movie. Cordially, Respectfully, Baudran Amelion, Commanding Officer, Vermillion Squadron.
  6. Galactic Starfighter has flourished, or, more realistically, risen from it's Deathbed with Galactic Command, especially on some of the Smaller Servers out there. The CXP Rewards led to a gain in interest and a return to GSF from many, including some of which discovered this new element of SWtOR and, shock horror, enjoyed it. The fact that GSF has not been balanced or supported in the last two years is now a moot point (including Cartel Market Items that do not work) , however, would it be so hard to avoid further discriminating a Part of SWtOR that already doesn't reward much ? Please consider aligning the GSF Rewards along the lines of Ground PvP as suggested by the OP.
  7. Hmm. I've learnt a few interesting things here. I can understand the points of view presented. Furthermore, if some Open World PvP had been announced I wouldn't be so irked. The fact is that if the situation had been reversed, I'd have left them to kill their Commander and, if it was a Conquest Objective, clean out the defences. Afterwards sure ? I'd have loved some open world PvP like you could get on Ilum or Oricon. Perhaps it's just me, but I don't get anything out of denying a small guild (We were 5) from getting a Framework. Regardless of my own opinions, thank you for your input and insight.
  8. I happen to run a small GSF Fighter Squadron RepSide on the Progenitor (EU / formerly designated as RP Server.) We are working on unlocking and decorating a Guild Ship of our own. It has taken a lot of time and effort on our behalf to achieve what we have done already. One of our major methods of funding and unlocking our Guild Ship was with the occasional Commander Hunt for Encryptions and Frameworks. Why ? Because we don't happen to be a massive guild of Crafters who spew out Dark Projects at the rate of a M-134. We're just a bunch of social people (less than 20 Accounts) who like GSF and want to have a Nice Convenient and Pretty Guild Ship to call home and do some RP with. We were ready to work our way towards it, earn it. Deserve it. All was going well; and then 4.7 Dropped. The fateful words of, and I quote : "Imperial and Republic Commanders now only spawn in PvP Instances" are now the bane of our existence. We manage to locate a named, unshielded Commander. We assemble our Ops Group and begin our Strike, as per usual. Then a Number of (Insert Relevant Comment) here unstealth, kite the adds with them, heal the Commander and kill us. We tried asking nicely, as well as a few other Diplomatic initiatives but no. Presumeably, this is their definition of fun. Good for them. So, due to this phenomenon brought on by 4.7 our Guild's Development has stalled. What options do we have ? Farm Credits and Craft ? Because, due to supply and demand, the only Frameworks on the GTN are horrifically overpriced. I'm not even going to mention Conquest... which is a futile exercise. Perhaps if it was tiered according to Qualifying Accounts it could become interesting for all Guilds. Not just the massive, anonymous MegaGuilds. Because that is what Conquest has become : Exclusive - Its very structure actively excludes massive swathes of Players and Guilds. So, I find myself asking, why this Modification ? Surely it isn't an attempt to make small collections of friends who play the game and all of it's elements, Plot, GSF, PvE, PvP together utterly irrelevant ? So, BioWare, I ask you, please consider rolling back on this particular modification. Now, I'm sure there will be many who will say "You went into a PvP Instance, Your Fault, Git Gud etc..." However, I wouldn't have even considered it if this Modification had not been made. 4.7 Forced our hands. Furthermore, I'm sure that the delightful individuals who enjoyed ruining our Commander Hunt wouldn't have considered it either. 4.7 gave them an opportunity to 'have their fun.' Also, I'm sure there will be Comments along the lines of "You should have to earn a Guild Ship; It's a priviliege, you shouldn't expect to be given everything etc..." We've been working towards this for just about a year. Whilst I'm sustaining the whimsical hope that this might be read by one of the Devs, or even perhaps taken into account, I would beseech you to consider giving all the areas of SWtOR some love. GSF, OPS, RP, Social, Valour, PvP & Story. That being said, I'd also be interested in an explanation as to why this 'Modification' was implemented in the first place. Yours Faithfully, in the (forlorn) hope of a positive outcome, Baudran Amelion, Commanding Officer, Vermillion Squadron, The Progenitor.
