  1. Greetings from the Thirteenth Legion! You can find us on the web at XIIIthLegion.enjin.com. We are a Republic guild on the Star Forge server with a sister Imperial guild open only to members of the Thirteenth. The mission of this guild is to share good roleplaying experiences, help members in conquering PVE instances, and most importantly, to maintain an out-of-game atmosphere of friendship and civility. The Thirteenth Legion had its roots in Atlanta among professional, enlightened, post college-age RPG fans, and has members from around the world. All prospective members will be made recruits first. This gives us a chance to get to know the applicant and the applicant a chance to get to know us to make sure that it is a good fit. The length of this trial period will be determined primarily by the amount of interaction guild members are able to have with the applicant, but applications will be reviewed weekly. The trial period may be waived or reduced for applicants who are already well known by guild members (i.e. people who have grouped with us frequently, family and close friends of existing members). We will also accept "associate members" who have access to most of our forums and events. Associate members may be members of other guilds here as ambassadors, people in-line for membership, or those who simply want to play with us from time to time without the responsibilities of guild membership. RP Backstory The XIIIth was a unit of Republic troopers that were tasked with fighting a suicidal holding mission to delay the Sith and their Mandalorian mercenaries long enough for the Senate to flee the sack of Coruscant. We were successful, but most of our troopers and all of the senior officers were killed in action. Some were MIA after the sack of Coruscant and were presumed to have joined or been captured by the Empire. The XIIIth Legion has since been rebuilt. We've taken troopers from plenty of other units that could spare them. We've taken in Jedi that are dissatisfied with the Jedi Council's stance of non-involvement. We've taken in a lot of "independent shipping captains" and "consultants" and "extrajudicial procurement specialists" who know the back lanes of all the spaceways. Now we are taking it to the Empire, and the bucketheads, for revenge... Our Imperial guild, Vindicta, was founded around those lost friends and allies from the sack of Coruscant along with others who have a reason to hold a grudge against the XIIIth and its members. Some blame the XIIIth for their capture. Some may have been working for the Empire all along. Some may be infiltrators, betraying the Empire from within. They've been joined through the years by new faces who have a bone to pick with the XIIIth, opportunists looking for glory or steady pay, and masterminds looking to direct a powerful band of misfits for their own purposes... among others. Who are we? We are a casual guild, which means we're expecting about 10 hours of play or less a week from most members. If you want to play 40 hours a week, then that's fine too! We welcome hardcore players even though the guild is mostly focused on casual players. We are a mature guild, which means that most of the Legionnaires are 30 or older. We would prefer if people younger than college-age did not join the guild. We don't want to babysit, and we don't want to feel uncomfortable about having to edit ourselves among younger players. We want to play with people our own age--and you should, too. We are a professional guild, which means that most Legionnaires have a full-time job and run their own household. Our members include surgery technicians, doctors, attorneys, software engineers/developers, scientists-teachers-professors, full time college students, military personnel, realtors and businessmen. This is a diverse and brainy group of folks. We have a good sense of perspective: the real world is more important than this game. We have the patience and wisdom and experience in how to get along in a group like adults because we are adults. We are a RP-PvE guild, which means that many of us expect to do some RP via in-game experiences, chat and posted fiction. You don't have to participate in RP, but you have to at least appreciate and respect RP. We will participate in PvP and endgame content as secondary goals that Legionnaires are welcome to participate in if they choose to do so. We are a friendly guild, which means that we are interested in mentoring new players, acting responsibly online, and creating a fun and supportive environment to play in. We support good sportsmanship and appropriate behavior. Griefing, bullying, racism, sexism, homophobia, cheating, stealing and the use of hax or gliding programs are not tolerated. We are a fun guild, which means we like to play! Our hobbies are as diverse and meaningful as our jobs. From basketball to Dungeons and Dragons to nerf-gun fights, we like to have fun. We like to tell jokes, drop atrocious puns during Operations, and pass around Monty Python memes! We are all playing The Old Republic because we love Star Wars and want to share the fun. We are not here for pwning n00bs, high-end raiding, PvP, power leveling, or gear. If you're looking for these kind of experiences, you're in the wrong place. We Only Have Three Rules Rule #1: Be nice. Follow the Code of Conduct and Guide to Etiquette and Looting. Rule #2: Be here. You should spend more game-time playing a Thirteenth Legion character than not playing one. We want to be your main guild. Rule #3: Be active. Log into and lurk on the forum at least monthly and play at least monthly. If you are going to be gone longer than that, let us know. If you think the Thirteenth might be a good fit for you, visit our website, look around, and submit an application!
  2. With the Dark vs. Light event drawing to a close, our guild really pulled together to make sure those striving for Legendary status were able to get there! We now have quite a few Legendary Victors in our ranks, but as the Commander, that matters far less to me than seeing our "no man left behind" attitude at work! Thank you, Legionnaires, for doing what you do. Bring on KotET!
  3. Hi Froztmourne, while we're not a primarily Imperial guild, if you're still looking around maybe the Thirteenth Legion might be of interest? I think we might have the kind of environment you're looking for, if you ever decided to roll a Republic character (We do have a pretty robust Imp guild for alts, but new members are recruited via the Pub side into the main guild first.)
  4. Hi! Perhaps you might be interested in the Thirteenth Legion? We're definitely happy to help show folks the ropes of group content, in a laid back and relaxed environment with mature/older players (I think our average age runs in the 30s, but we certainly have older!) We are primarily a Republic guild, but we have an Imperial side guild as well for our alts. We don't do a lot of organized PvP at this time, but there are definitely members who like to PvP, and since members are welcome to start up and schedule their own events, you could always be that go-getter who kicks it off

  6. Approaching the end of Knights of the Fallen Empire, we are still alive and kicking! With the Dark vs. Light event in full swing, we're running Flashpoints, world boss hunts, and Operations to help our Legionnaires to achieve their DvL goals, and we have no shortage of folks going for that Legendary level Many of us were altoholics already; this event has pushed some of us to the extreme If you're looking for a laid-back, active group to PvE, RP, or just maybe PvP or GSF with, come visit us!

  9. Exact same situation here. Level 61 female BH (haven't started KotFE content yet), max affection with Mako and all convos completed long ago.
  10. Eric, can you confirm the "or" part of "All players who complete Making the Connection and/or Well Connected achievements"? We only have to do it on one faction to receive the reward? I agree that I really enjoyed the concept of the staged weekly. I did not enjoy doing it on Makeb Some of the missions were painfully long (mostly because of the eleventy mobs you had to kill every time you turned around), but mixing up the order to affect the populace was a really cool idea. Maybe bring it back in a revised form sometime?
  11. As a relative newbie (I'm one of those who just started playing GSF because of Conquest, but found myself enjoying it more than expected), I thank those who have taken the time to write up (deliciously extensive) guides, offer advice (even the arguments that come up about said advice are educational ), and answer questions. The learning curve is pretty intense, but reading up on stuff here reminds me that it's not insurmountable. (Well, generally speaking. For me specifically, that has yet to be determined. ) Hey, that's me! I may get squished a lot, but I'll cap a sat for you at game start, and/or die trying! As far as focusing on defense vs. offense for your early purchases, I think I may have to side with defense. Getting kills is a big mood booster, for sure, but staying alive, learning how to break locks and how not to engine-maneuver into rocks, feels more like progress, IMO. My first 0 deaths match was quite exciting! Not dying meant I got more kills and assists (and medals), too. Whatever motivates you, though! If successfully blowing things up keeps you queueing, and therefore playing and learning, so be it. Couldn't agree more. I may have an objectively awful match, but at this early point in my piloting, every single match is a learning experience. Sometimes frustrating, but I've never felt like it would be impossible to do better. So... thanks for the encouragement, and apologies to those on Ebon Hawk Pub-side in the evenings who get saddled with Maelos on your team. I'm trying to be less terrible!
  12. I know, right? I could see that being a Cartel Market exclusive, but people would certainly buy it. Or maybe an actual desirable GSF-related pack item... >_>
  13. /newbie wave Right. Before GSF launched, I was one of those waiting for word on whether there would be a PVE component. When they finally announced that there wasn't one, the complexity of the AI required was the big reason. I was really disappointed, but I understand the reasoning, and perhaps the hesitance to sink so much effort into a free mini-expansion/side game. As someone who desperately needs to improve my flying skills and battlespace awareness, I would love a "scrimmage" mode or some such thing as has been recommended above: non-competitive practice battles. They could call it simulator training or whatever for flavor. Since I certainly can't speak to balance yet, my top 5 are more basic (and perhaps naively noobish): Practice area/mode ^ I love the idea of cheaper (or even free) buy-in for components, with the cost shifted to upgrades. I think it would encourage new pilots to experiment and find what's effective for them. The ability to tweak loadouts while waiting in the queue. Maybe you shouldn't be able to move around ships inh your active hangar? But I don't know if the groupfinder is granular enough to be tracking each ship's loadout... is it? UI QoL stuff like... identifying what sorts of ships those blips on your map are (if your sensors can pick them up, it seems logical that you could tell what kind of ship they are, no?) More interesting paint schemes And colors, too, naturally. No one else may ever really get to see my ships in detail, but hey.
  14. I think most of the things that come immediately to mind for me have already been mentioned, but here they are: - Adding support for the armor stands/mannequins. Please? :< - Items for making a garden sort of area. Plants (not holo-trees ) of different shapes and sizes, in containers and maybe not, ponds, fountains, stuff like that. - Various posters from elsewhere in the game. - Mad Scientist-appropriate equipment - I *love* the ideas for "hazard zones" and MGGS hooks... not sure those are possible at the moment, but tools like that could be fantastic.
