  1. In no particular order: - WoW was stale af in 2011 (Dragon Soul was current content, quite literally the worst raid ever in that game.) and I am an avid MMO player, so it was exciting and new. - Mass Effect was my go to series at the time... ME2 was probably one of, if not my favorite games at the time. So any new Bioware game was already gold in my eyes, especially a Star Wars MMO. - KotOR - All of their press events and trailers made me hyped as fudge. Really wish the game was more successful back then so it didn't turn into the empty husk based on selling cartel coins to whales that it is now, but alas.
  2. Its a single player story game (its not an RPG lol) with an online lobby to show off how much of a life you don't have based on how much money you spend on imaginary clothing and vehicles.
  3. Why would they make a new MMO to compete with their own already failing MMO?
  4. Truth be told you and your ilk contribute far more to the game staying "alive" if only on life support at this point, than he and his. There is a reason they don't make ops and the like anymore... Population. Look at a game like WoW. Participation in the highest difficulty of their raids is like 5% maybe... 95% of people who play that game will never set foot in a Mythic Raid. But even such a small portion is still worth making content for because that 5% is still hundreds of thousands of players given WoW's large population. Compared to SWTOR... Let's assume there is a similar percent of participation at the highest difficulty. SWTOR's population is so low that its just not worth making content for such a small portion of an already small population. 5% of SWTOR's playerbase is like a few tens of thousands, if not only a few thousand at this point. Compared to the 95% who play for the stories, flashpoints, etc. They can't sell the raids, people would be up in arms. But they can sell a couple hours of story and some flashpoints as a little mini-expansion, like they have been. They can sell the barbie dress up costumes on the CM. They are business, they exist to make money, and they are hanging on by a thread at this point in that regard, hence the minimalist support this game has anymore and ignoring of the minority of "high end" players. I say high end in quotes because raiding in this game has never been difficult, the fights are simple and were simply hard gear checks, you either had enough throughput to get past or you didn't.
  5. RNG is fine when its boss drops. A boss has a loot table with six items on it, you kill him, RNG determines which of the six things he drops, if you don't get what you wanted, you kill him again, etc. That is fine. What is not fine is grinding for the right to pull the lever on a slot machine that has a loot table of hundreds if not thousands of items, when you need particular things. That's stupid, the person who thought it up is stupid, the people who ok'd it are stupid.
  6. I resubscribed to this game recently to play through the stories I missed and what not. This whole time I have been reading about the command crate debacle, I assumed it was just a side thing. But then I actually got in the game and realized that there is no loot from anything else anymore. Honestly what were they thinking? What even is this game anymore? It started out as a loot based MMO RPG. What is there now? There are no builds, no trees, there are no RPG elements... And now there is no loot? Its literally just a slot machine game... With a money sink slot machine and a time sink slot machine. Why is EA so garbage?
  7. I just bought a 216 versatile barrel off the AH for 2m credits... Sure they will be worthless in a few weeks, but right now credits are kind of flowing from the heavens... Doing all 70 of the weekly heroics gives you 1.3m credits just from the quest turn ins, most of them have a bonus objective that is another 13k credits... Every single one gives you the supplies which can be exchanged for a chest, each of which has a few thousand credits in it and potentially a mount (I got a mount that sold for 800k in one of my first crates)...
  8. Because those games are dozens of hours long, very in depth, built around that dynamic, etc... This story was, so far, like 5 hours long. And will only double in size by its ending A YEAR from now. And this dynamic was simply copy/pasted onto this game, the game wasn't built around being like this.
  9. Anyone know why I can't view the General Discussion forum? Whenever I click the actual forum I get redirected to a maintenance page... I can still see topics listed under it, like this one, and go to them... But if I try to go to the forum proper I get the maintenance page every time. Sorry to hijack thread, but Bioware disabled their customer support forum so I have nowhere else to ask.
  10. It just seems to make levels and even gear irrelevant outside of anything other than nightmare mode ops... You either get synced down to bolstered up. You own personal stats and gear are irrelevant because it just sets them at whatever arbitrary number they deemed appropriate for that particular zone or instance... That three million credit barrel you just bought to up your DPS? Irrelevant, your stats and damage go to the same place whether you are in leveling greens or BiS nightmare gear. That and it destroys soloing... 95% of my time in this game is spent not in a group out doing stuff on my own... Whether soloing old content for decorations or doing dailies... Now, outside of the recycled planetary heroics, everything requires a group... That is unless you want to run the solo mode and get a pittance of rewards for the same amount of time and effort put forward. And its all just to facilitate the recycle... I mean look at Terror From Beyond... That operation has been recycled three times now... Most of the flashpoints have been recycled at least one time through already and are on their second pass... This whole "expansion" adds little... 10 hours of story that seemingly has no impact on your meta game whatsoever since many claim it is in its own little bubble off in the corner where nothing from inside or outside the bubble intereacts... And then recycles everything already in the game and calls it fresh... If this was just a minor patch it wouldn't be so bad... But this is labeled an "expansion" and it is coming nearly a year after the previous expansion, which added one operation... And this one doesn't even include an operation or even flashpoints... And they say this will be it all the way through 2016 with the monthly releases... So the earliest we will even get a hint at actual new end-game content is over a year from now, if not more. It is ridiculous to say the least. I hope I am wrong about everything, but every time Bioware opens their mouth it seems they confirm more and more of the doom saying.
  11. I don't mean old stuff I mean new stuff. Like dailies on new planets.
  12. I know there will be no flashpoints or operations associated with it for the duration... But have they made mention of anything else? Can we return to the planets (if there even are planets), are there secrets/collectibles/etc, are there dailies? Thanks
  13. You should probably get checked for lice, scratching one's head that much isn't normal.
