  1. I've been running LI HM every day since it came out. I just find it to be the most fun FP and it's pretty difficult. It's also nice to be able to gear some of our fresh 50s in Rakata. But I've run it quite a few times with 2 melee DPS, whether it be 2 Maras, 1 Mara 1 ***, 1 Mara 1 Powertech, or 1 Mara 1 Operative (I consider ops melee ranged DPS), and it can be done. Our basic strategy is that we tank the Droid on the corners of that middle platform, and if one of the plasma balls does get thrown down on us we have our tank move. Granted, our heals are great, our healer is 5/5 Black Hole Gear, which does help. Interrupt the incinerate ASAP every time, as that will be the doom of the tank, and interrupt the plasma arc as much as you can. But it can be done! Cheers!
  2. The ear pieces and implants are the biggest power boosts that you're going to get over Rakata (or even Expert Overkill Nano Might Implants with augment slots). I'm a power whore, so a lot of my gear doesn't have its original mods. If you really want you DPS up then stack power, you lose out on some crit, but with berserk for Anni all your bleeds crit, and for some reason Annihilate seems to crit a lot for me. The only problem with stacking power is that, when I'm fully buffed my combined DPS is 1308, which is the highest in my guild by far. However, on HM EC, I pull aggro from the tanks a LOT. So you'll have to manage your DPS a little bit in boss fights so you aren't pulling aggro all the time. But the only thing I've bought so far are the ear pieces and implants. I believe the boots (or pants can't remember) also give you a power boost, so I plan on buying those and only those until I get campaign gear so I can rip the power mods/enhancements out and puttem in the gear that's more Crit/Surge friendly.
  3. And now you're just putting words in my mouth. I've run every raid multiple times. I have modified my armor by getting enhancements as well as the Black Hole and Campaign armors that I already have. I was just hoping for more in the way of power enhancements already worked into this next tier of armor a little more than they had with the Rakata armor. Like maybe have half of the armor with power enhancements and the other half with Crit/Surge that was it balances out how many mods/enhancements extra people need to find based on their playstyle and preferences.
  4. Obviously I have modified the heck out of my Rakata. But during a boss pull I never have problem with pulling aggro from the tank. And I'm not saying you shouldn't have to grind to have the perfect stats for your playstyle. I'm saying that I think the original armor should come with maybe equal mods for both power and Crit/Surge, that way depending on your playstyle everyone still has to do a good amount of extra work to get the stats they want. Not just people who like Power over Crit/Surge.
  5. See you just lost all credibility right there by insulting hardcore gamers. I'm a hardcore gamer; I'm also a full-time student at a 4 year university with a double major. I'm a NCAA Division 1 (albeit far from the top) student-athlete. And I get on an hour or two a day to finish dailies and raid on the weekends with my guild. So fix your **** before you around insulting hardcore gamers. As to your OP, no you don't have to do them to get the commendations, except for the few daily commendations if you want to do those. The whole point of an MMO is to be able to socialize and play with other people. Sometimes that takes time to find. Go the the space station and ask. If you don't want to put up with it and decide you're going to solo an entire game alone you should just go back to KotOR where you won't have to "waste" your money on a subscription. Good day.
  6. Hello! Hope everyone's doing well today. I just wanted to make a statement about the current condition of the Black Hole and Campaign armors. Again, just like most Rakata pieces, this armor is specced more towards the Carnage tree, with high amounts of Crit/Surge and actually will give me less Power unless I play around with mods/enhancements. While this isn't a huge deal, it's still kind of aggravating, especially because BW said that this next tier of armor would better fit the class as a whole and not just one spec. The only exception I found was the Black Hole Earpiece which did raise my power +73 from the Rakata Earpiece. I'm hoping that in the future there are more armor option tailored to different stats and play-styles. Personally, I like power over Crit/Surge, because I need power more with Anni to boost my damage. My DPS is still 1023 for main hand and 199-299 for offhand, but it's still just a little aggravating to have to spent a ton of creds pulling lower level power enhancements/mods out of lower tiered armor and then have to remove the Black Hole/Campaign enhancements/mods in order to insert the lower level ones. TL;DR - Make more options for armor with power instead of Crit/Surge. Anyone else thoughts on this? Have a good one! Maverick
  7. SM EC drops the Black Hole legs, as I have them for my Mara after defeating Kephess.
  8. The whole reason for the Black-Hole commendations is so that you can get Black-Hole armor. That's going to help you complete EC. But, you can beat it with Rakata. My guild has beaten Story Mode no problem, and gotten to Kephess on HM with full Rakata and a few pieces of Black Hole. This is difficult, which is why it's the most fun I've had in this game thus far.
  9. Back during the Magenta craze I was one of the only players on my server with the ability to craft it and the schem. So I made a lot of money. I'm pretty sure that I was also one of the only people who had every Columi implant schem for a while (this was after I picked up Biochem) so I made a lot of money off those. I had 19 mil. So I bought two of every color crystal for +41 power and a Blue and Green +41 expertise crystal. I needed something to put my credits into. It's pointless having that much. I liked all the colors so I boughtem all lol
  10. Name: Leviathan Server: Saber of Exar Kun Guild: Sesame Street I'm more of a PvE player, I have a completely different character for PvP. But I enjoy the Marauder PvP every once in a while. And yes, Stmp is a God; luckily I get teamed up with him almost every time I hop into PvP. Edit: Whoops fail on me for reading I wrote about myself.....heh.
  11. YAY! ME TOO!! I just got my mainhand (primary) dps over 1000 as well.
  12. People just need to stop comparing this to other melee classes from other games. This is star wars, not WoW, not GW, not Rift, but STAR WARS. Also learn to play the class. If it doesn't suit you for whatever reason then it's not for you. My Mara is in full rakata and my I manage to pull aggro on 16 man nightmare modes. Marauder is fine. Even in PvP just have to learn to use your stuff in the right way. Anni is single target, I can bleed people out in less than 10 seconds every time.
  13. I'm pretty sure on hard mode it's meant to be solved a specific way otherwise you get 4 acklays or the consoles stop responding. That's just part of the hard/nightmare mode puzzle. I don't think iti is a bug.
  14. I see what your point is but this is an MMORPG it's not going to be all about the PvP aspect ESPECIALLY....ESPECIALLY with a bioware developed game that focuses so much on the PvE aspect of gaming.
