  1. Thats the point, if you set Skype's region to US (regardless of where you actually live), it'll still give you the toll free calls and for a lot of regions who don't have official support (Oceania for one) its the only way to contact them so may as well get it free.
  2. If they have a 1800 (think thats the toll free prefix for you?) number in the US, then you most certainly can use Skype to call them totally free (just set your region to the US before doing so), i've done it several times to Blizzard's toll free number when looking for support.
  3. How about we meet in the middle here, I think some (maybe even most?) people just want -their- character (and companion) to be using the high quality "dialog" scene textures and not the entire world as that would cause lag and I accept that. How about Bioware just change -your- character to show at high detail and keep the atlas texturing for other characters. Maybe your entire party, which are the only people you are going to be seeing up close anyhow most of the time.
  4. Adding my voice to the complaints. Removing the (never worked since live anyhow) high texture setting and renaming medium->high is not in any way, shape or form a valid and acceptable fix and Biowar needs to either come forward with a hell of a good reason for this change or an ETA on a proper fix. ... and before...someone... comes in here and tells us its an "art" issue, no its not, the textures are already there in-game, we see them in cutscenes all the time, we just want to be able to see those textures all the time on machines that can handle it.
  5. Just going to throw my reply in here as well... Bioware, hiding the problem behind a reduced High/Low texture dropdown is NOT a valid fix and isn't acceptable in the slightest; you either need to give us a -valid- reason for not allowing high resolution textures outside of dialogue (that they exist in dialogue lets us know they exist in the client we just can't have them) or tell us that you are fixing it. Changing the slider to high/low only gives the impression that you've decided not to bother or are unable to fix it, and are simply burying the issue.
  6. You'd be wrong, healers (Commando, Sage, Scoundrel on Republic) all have no cooldown on their rez, you get a passive that bestows that on you at level 10 when you pick your advanced class.
  7. Please accept this post as what its meant to be and not an insult but you are not getting what people are asking for. This isn't about new art assets (though that would certainly be nice) but using art thats -already- in game. All hooded robes in this game have a seperate mesh for the head piece, we know this because that mesh disappears if you're a) wearing a full cover helmet or b) a twi'lek. What we're asking for is the option for that 'disappearing act' to be available as a seperate toggle that can be chosen (just like the show helmet option) on a per-character basis from the options screen... thats all. Some people do want the addition of a "hood down" graphic where the hood sits around your neck as happens on some robes, but i'm fully aware that will require some extra art time and so its acceptable to wait on that, but the option of a toggle is a pure, and should be fairly simple as the mechanics are already in the code, coding option that would make a lot of people happy for very little work. From a pseudo-code point of view, this is what must be in the game somewhere: if race == twilek or (showhelmetToggle == true and wearingFullHelm == true) then hideHoodMesh() else showHoodMesh() end ... we're just asking for the addition of "or (showHoodToggle == false)" to be added to that first line (with the associated checkbox in the options).
  8. Slicing provides missions for most gathering/mission skills, cybertech patterns, and augments from missions. ... seems like a decent list for a skill that provides nothing but credits, my Bioanlysis provides materials for Biochem... and thats it.
  9. What i'm seeing here boils down to: Oh noes, I only make 2k/hr by logging in a character every 30 minutes and pressing a handful of buttons, but even though slicing is a -gathering- skill I refuse to actually gather things on it as that would screw up my little world view that slicing is now utterly useless even though, with a little actual -gathering-, it is still one of the biggest money earners in regards to time/effort vs reward. ... and yes, i'm a 400 slicer and while i'm only making a little profit over time from missions I grab every slicing box I see in the world and i'm still making enough credits to keep it instead of getting my 'other' gathering skill for my craftomg profession.
  10. Medium is the highest they'll let us use in the open world, but High rez textures are present in the client (you see them in cutscenes), they just won't allow us to use them outside of cutscenes for whatever reason and, regardless of claims that its a bug, I have my doubts because I fail to see how thats a bug thats going to take a long time to fix for something that will have such a drastic increase in graphics quality for many.
  11. Stuns are fine, or should be fine -if- the resolve system worked properly. Its supposed to build up and make you immune once it maxes out for a while, but at the moment the instant it maxes out it starts falling so you get about 0.2 seconds of immunity. Intentional or bugged, if they make it gives you a notable time it'll mitigate a lot of the cc/stun crying.
  12. Thats my biggest gripe with the kinda screwed up aim/techblade thing, not so much as they did it because I can see (somewhat) their reasoning, but that they haven't full supported it. You can get plenty of moddable blades for Khem all through the game, to date I don't believe anyone has found so much as a single orange techblade. ... and on the whole "Qyzen uses aim so he wears trooper not Jedi armour", he kinda looks cool in robes (cool = ridiculous in this case ).
  13. Actually the cover bar option not 'saving' properly is happening to a lot of people, as well as the Sith Corruption option. Both options can be checked or unchecked but after a relog they both reset to checked regardless. ... similar to how (if you're a Smuggler) Corso's grappling hook will. not. just. stay. OFF. no matter how many times you tell him to stop using it
  14. Like for everyone else with issues about advanced classes, don't you all realize that regardless of how its presented this game has 8 classes per side and your choice of that class is just being delayed 10 levels to allow you a bit of a preview of whats to come. TOR isn't the first game to do this, both DAoC and EQ2 have it (though EQ2 removed it later) and people rarely seemed to have issues then and I don't see why people do now. ... though I do agree they need a much more flashy "THIS IS ONE TIME ONLY!!" message when you do the choice so as to avoid people getting confused.
  15. I've got AA enabled through the ini (on an nVidia 580) and other than the blocky shadows which I think are there anyhow, I don't notice any real problems except for the performance hit; there is a much bigger hit for turning it on than is expected on a modern day gpu and while still easily playable, it'd be nice for the kinks to be worked out.
