  1. Have to agree it's bugged.. 20% should mean 20%.. I can understand perhaps it taking up to 7 tries to get a schematic.. but I myself have been doing some REing today and after 22 RE's I got 1, yes one schematic.. that's less than 5% chance there.. that's absolutely ridiculous. And anyone saying we don't complain when we get a schematic on the first try.. I would prefer to consistently get a schematic according to the percentage indicated rather than possibly getting it the first try. And I can tell you from experience that more often than not I end up making 2-3 times the projected amount of items to get schematics.. there is a problem here that needs to be addressed.
  2. I wonder if, over time, your server will see an improvement in the value of those augments.. there is still an abundance of the old pre-1.2 augments available along with those being crafted.. there is just such an abundance that the competition to sell them in lowering the price.. I think you just need to deal with it, perhaps over time things will balance out as the cheap ones get bought and the price goes up. Agree on how the purple version should require the blue subelectronic data modules to make them.. just vendoring them right now.. another thing is how you can't reverse engineer the non-crit orange armor that is leftover in abundance.. would be nice to get some of my materials back..
  3. So far I have gotten no new orange recipes.. I have gotten around 5 or so schematics but they were all pre 1.2 schems. So, where are they then, Devs?
  4. Snagged one of those supreme inquisitors robe for around 5000 credits - really nice looking orange robe - sold it for 850,000; took a few weeks of listing though.
  5. I was under the impression that world-drop greens, blues and oranges, and the orange items you get from bosses in flashpoints would be reverse-engineer-able for schematics? And although these items can be reverse engineered.. there is no displayed %age chance for a schematic and thus I think you can only get resources from them...
  6. Lol the amount of times I've come across something that works a certain (wrong) way in this game and subsequently made a comment like yours..
  7. Yes loads of companion gifts, not only this but they are bugged in a way.. some missions display as "Rich" when they are in fact 'Moderate' missions, also, there are supposed to be 2 'Abundant' missions each for metals and fabrics, however only 1 of each will ever show up.
  8. I find the grade 6 underworld missions to be bugged, I believe there are meant to be 2 each of the abundant mission for silks and metals but only one ever show up for either.. "A Volatile Gift" and "Sinews of War".. yet there are 3 moderate missions for them, though usualyy mostly gift missions come up.. to be honest I don't know why they don't just make every possible mission come up for you to choose..
  9. When you try to learn a schematic from an item, it also returns the message "you already know that schematic" if you already have it.
  10. Wow.. so like, I sent in a CS ticket about this.. the item in question is synthweaving, a level 49 light armor bracer called Shade Bracers, in this case, I had RE'd it to "Critical Shade Bracers" and I stated "critical shade bracers" 3 or more times throughout the ticket.. here is the response I got: "Thank you for contacting us regarding issue your on your crewskill when trying to use reverse engineering on the item crystal shade bracers he was not able to get the schematic the player wants.." That is an exact quote, somehow he ended up thinking it was "crystal" instead of "critical" and the response seems to start out like he's talking to me, but towards the end sounds like he's talking to someone else, probably for the devs.. the rest was the same generic message about passing it on to the devs and to check the patch notes for possible fixes..
  11. For some reason bind on pickup items (ie: gear dropped from bosses in flashpoints, rewards from some missions, high end purples from PvE, PvP) allow you to reverse engineer them, however there are no schematics for these and you won't even get resources for doing it.
  12. I've had slicing from the start, and I have never ever seen a purple box from grade 6. I've heard about them but never got one.. perhaps you are playing a class which has a companion with a bonus to your slicing skill?
  13. To be honest I would expect that they have some people who are familiar with how the crewskills REing is coded, and it could and should be a quick fix. On to whether or not it is a bug, I believe it is a bug and here is my reasoning.. it happens to me only very, very rarely, and I've done a lot of REing therefore it should have occurred more often, it's happened two times to me, once back in december and again yesterday which is why I started this post.. however this reasoning alone isn't enough.. so some numbers.. it stands to reason that if it's intended that you can learn the same schematic more than once, it would work both for the first stage RE, that is, crit-power-defense as well as the secondary level for shield-presence-alacrity-accuracy-surge.. for this I will look at the first stage of RE.. so if you RE successfully there's a 33% chance of it being either crit, power or defense.. 33% is a rather large percentage chance, and since december (pretty sure that one was for the first stage RE) I haven't seen this "you already know this schematic" until last night.. so a 33% chance that one of those three prefixes could come up.. seems very likely that this would and could happen quite frequently, yet, what does happen is that I can and do get all 3 prefixes without the "you already know this schematic" happening.. I've got a whole bunch of synthweaving schems where I've had to get all 3 before getting the one I wanted, and I never had this bug occur except that one time back in december... so it seems reasonable to me that it's a bug and that sometimes the system seems to overlook what schematics you already know and doesn't have any kind of backup code for this and just returns the message about already having it. Bit TLDR I know.. just read this conclusion then: The amount of reverse engineering I have done suggests to me that there is some kind of code in place which does check your schematics first and gives you a new one which you have not previously learned, however, in some rare cases it seems to overlook checking your schematics first and thinks all are needed then the dice roll turns up one you already know.
  14. So I just got the dreaded "you already know that schematic" for an expensive high level crafted item.. granted it's been a long time since I tried to reverse engineer this particular item.. I had previously learned the presence, shield, accuracy and alacrity versions of it, while it was surge that I really wanted to go along with the initial critical RE I had. I found an old critical version of the item that hadn't sold so I decided to try my luck and reverse engineer it and see if I finally get the +surge rating schematic and what happens "You already know that schematic". Really, what a let-down. You would think they would reward your expensive and time consuming efforts at crafting by making it so you can't learn the same schematic twice, I guess they don't share this piece of fair minded logic though. I honestly didn't think this bug existed anymore.. it's only ever happened to me once before, a long time ago when I was level 20 something back in December.. I frequently have had to get all 3 of the first stage of reverse engineering, that is the critical, power and defense bonuses, and logic dictates that if I've had to get all 3 and this "you already know that schematic" thing hasn't happened in around 100 reverse engineers that it's likely to be some kind of bug, otherwise it would have occurred more often. I can only surmise that the server forgot to check what schematics I had and just gave me one at random and then is like "oh you already know that one". Thanks a lot for wasting my time, I enjoy crafting, but this really puts me off. Edit: Wow.. so like, I sent in a CS ticket about this.. the item in question is synthweaving, a level 49 light armor bracer called Shade Bracers, in this case, I had RE'd it to "Critical Shade Bracers" and I stated "critical shade bracers" 3 or more times throughout the ticket.. here is the response I got: "Thank you for contacting us regarding issue your on your crewskill when trying to use reverse engineering on the item crystal shade bracers he was not able to get the schematic the player wants.." That is an exact quote, somehow he ended up thinking it was "crystal" instead of "critical" and the response seems to start out like he's talking to me, but towards the end sounds like he's talking to someone else, probably for the devs.. I really don't feel like this guy understood me at all, and it's not about getting the schematic I want, it's about there only being one possible schematic left to learn and it instead tried to give me one I already had... anyway, the rest of the response is the same generic message about passing it on to the devs and to check the patch notes for possible fixes.. I suppose I should be grateful for the response.
  15. I think his point is that, biochem is extremely useful for endgame, pve and pvp, whereas other crafting skills such as synthweaving, do not have as big of a use.. they need to implement things such as reduced repair costs for instance if I am a synthweaver. If biochem can have unlimited potions, why can't a synthweaver have unlimited repairs on their armor.
