  1. I take a different tack on it. If when I hit 50 I am still enjoying the game, THEN I will buy the expansion. If not so be it.
  2. You know what I am American and playing on American servers but I totally understand the frustration of these people stuck on dead servers. Some things in online games just flat become impossible to accomplish without a decent population number. I have been through that in several other games. The thing that I fine incomprehensible in all this is the dead silence these people are getting. BW/EA could alleviate so much anger by simply talking to them. Right now they don't know if a solution is coming or not. Unfortunately the Cynic in me tends to think BW/EA isn't talking because they are not planning to do anything about it. Worse perhaps can't think of a good solution because they are so locked into the fact that one of the servers is PvP.
  3. If they are in the US or Canada you can buy EA Game Cards all over the place and those work for the expansion, CC purchases or even subscriptions
  4. Actually I have real mixed luck with prepaid credit/debit cards and online purchases of any sort. Sometimes they work and sometimes not its real hit or miss.
  5. If you are in the US or Canada there is the EA Game Card available from Gamestop and walmart and a few other places that WILL work to put cash on your account for the expansion or CC.
  6. When you have had to fight with a game company because they repeatedly tried to charge your credit card for over $75,000 (which failed every time and piled up nearly $10,000 in fees). Then had to fight with the game company to convince them you did not OWE $75,000 you owed $75. Then they offer to give you a $10,000 game credit to cover the fees they incurred (meanwhile you still have to pay the credit card off). Yeah you tend to get a bit paranoid and refuse to take a risk again. I respect others do not feel as I do about it. Fortunately someone in another thread has given me a solution that might well work. EA Game Cards which I did not know work for this game as SWTOR is not listed on the site for them.
  7. TY for this I wasn't aware these worked for this game as SWTOR is not listed in the information. You have given me hope of continuing this game.
  8. ONLY way to get it is to buy it from the online store. I have been looking for an alternative myself but it really looks like there is no other choice. For me that means I will never be able to buy it. Sad
  9. I think it very unlikely BW/EA will relent and put Makeb on the Cartel Shop and that saddens me. I am relatively new to this game and currently a subscriber via time card. Having been burned many times by game companys over charging, double and triple (and worse) charging and generally messing me up financially, I absolutely refuse to give them financial information anymore. I realize this is my choice. I had believed that I would be able to handle subscription + coin purchases by Time card and the Cartel Coin Cards that have been announced (though not yet released). Because BW/EA refuses to put Makeb in brick and mortar stores OR the Cartel Shop I effectively cannot ever get it. Which means my time playing this game has a pretty solid end date. Once I have leveled the characters I want to level to 50 there is nothing further for me to do. Game ends there for me. Knowing I have that end date is really making me rethink my decision to subscribe at all.
  10. I only want to see 3 things in the store. One will probably happen the other 2 I doubt very much ever will. Probably happen: Additional character slots Not going to happen: Credit cap increase and the Makeb expansion So yeah the shop is pretty fail for me. I am sub now though with the Makeb announcement (not being in the shop) I am seriously thinking I may drop to Preferred.
  11. I can't speak for later in the game since I subbed right after I left the starting world, but on the starting world the only quest rewards I did not receive as F2P were to credit boxes. I got all the gear rewards.
  12. Only advantage I see is no credit cap and frankly I don't believe that is enough anymore.
  13. Thinking further on the issue of this "digital Expansion" and it not being available for cartel coins I find myself more and more resigned to the idea that my days in this game are numbered. For me it is choice not to give financial information to gaming companys. For others they don't have it to give. For whatever reason there are people all over the world without credit cards or paypal. They are now locked out of the expansion just as I am. Really bad move there BW/EA. Years ago after the TSO/EALand debacle I told myself I would never give money to EA again. So I didn't try this game until F2P. Liked it so much that against my better judgement I went out and bought a time card and subbed. Now I am starting to think my original assessment was right. Don't support EA with my money. If there is no change on the position about selling the expansion for CC then I will be dropping back to preferred and when that becomes to much trouble or I run out of content I am out. I know no one cares. I suspect EA doesn't care. This is how I feel about it and I wanted it said in a place where someone from EA might just read it.
  14. I am not cancelling now but if they stick to the plan of not allowing the expansion to be bought with CC then my time in game is limited. I will not give any game company financial information. I am subscribed by time cards purchasable in a retail store. The expansion will not be put in retail stores and only available through the website. so that means I can't get it. Eventually I will run out of things to do without the expansion and unsub.
