  1. Good suggestions, however it doesn't stop at the exact same spot every time. The drive capacity where the game is installed has multiple TB of free space. And I did double-check firewall settings (and even did the unsafe practice of trying it with firewall disabled). Unfortunately, I get the same results in each case.
  2. Looks like nobody encountering this problem has gotten around it? I'm returning after a long absence, and of course needed a lot of game updates. I was stuck at the same spot (main assets 353) and got to the point of doing a full reinstall to make sure I had the latest launcher and nothing old that may trip things up. Now I get stuck at 'main assets 357' instead. It downloads about 32GB of files and then freezes at various points of installing 357. Sometimes it just freezes, other times it just fails and says I need to do a repair. If I do a repair, it goes back to installing, and then freezes again at various stages. Has anyone solved this? I'm starting to think the game is just unplayable now, and may just want to stop paying for it and uninstall.
  3. It sure is tough to beat a good pair of juggs. But I don't see what you guys are complaining about. I'm glad to see a lot of them bouncing around everywhere.
  4. Cool vid, but I'm still biased toward the immortal jugg vids. You should give your healers some credit. There is so much green text flying above you that it can be hard to see who you are fighting!
  5. It's possible that he was spec'd into Agility Training, which takes I think 21 skill points to reach in the Focus tree. It allows Zealous Leap to be used while immobilized. If he used that while the sleep dart was on him, and saved his cc breaker for your flash bang, that could explain it.
  6. I'm getting bored leveling my rage jugg (currently lvl 40) and want to give immortal a try. I'm wondering where people acquire the mods and enhancements with defense, absorption and shield stats on them. I do not see any schems for them on my cybertech, and haven't seen anything until higher levels from the planetary comm vendors. Can someone enlighten me as to where I can acquire mods with the right stats at lvl 40?
  7. I see a lot of people mentioning the purple Makeb item mods at lvl 50. But once you reach lvl 53, is it better to upgrade to the craftable 66 rating stuff? Or do the Makeb mods fare better with bolster for some reason?
  8. I'm certainly enjoying a lot of success in arenas with my vanguard. But I wouldn't say Harpoon is the reason. I would say it has to do with being lucky enough to get grouped with other players who don't go off by themselves and wind up in a 1 versus 4 scenario. Show me a situation where you can be pulled, and I'll show you a pt/vanguard who can be leaped to. It goes both ways.
  9. I have a lvl-30 Operative (currently Concealment) that I am leveling up solely through PVP. I was thinking about giving a healer spec a try, but wasn't sure how useful a healer could be in the low 30's. Has anybody pvp'd at this low level with an op healer and had much success? Or should I wait until I have more abilities?
  10. DPS Sorc/Sage... because: DPS to Empty > Heal to Full
  11. Look on the bright side. It's one more chance for the top tier gear to be not so lame looking. I've hated every PvP set for Sage since the game began. Maybe now I won't have to look homeless, like a clown, or like a member of the Roman senate.
  12. Most of the posts I'm seeing are centered around DPS Sages in PVP. But since I'm sticking with my healer, I was curious what builds other people are using at lvl 55. I tried this out today, and it seemed ok. Healing numbers were as low as 300K when I was getting focused by good groups, and as high as 900K in chaotic PUG matches. My char is fairly under geared (just a couple pieces of Partisan gear and a mostly WH setup), but overall the build seemed fine. Stun bubble seems to be just as much of a pain as before, and with Conveyance, big heals crit for quite a bit (over 7K). I'd love to see what others are using at End Game now.
  13. For Smash, the laugh should sound like Lewis from Revenge of the Nerds.
  14. Ah, necro'ed, oh well. I'm sure a regular keyboard/mouse works perfectly well for a lot of people. But I'm just not that coordinated I guess, and certainly not an expert MMO player. Having the toolbars shaped just like the nostromo and naga keypads adds a visual component that for me makes it way easier. My effectiveness in pvp shot up dramatically after I switched to this setup. Whatever works I guess.
  15. ^this I use the nostromo + naga setup, and modify the user interface so I have one toolbar shaped like the nostromo keypad, and one shaped like the naga. It makes learning new key bindings or switching between multiple characters a snap. I only use the regular keyboard when I'm on the fleet, or crafting, etc.
