  1. In the recent interview with Dulfy they mentioned that switching advanced classes is a possibility in the future:
  4. I think you're partially correct. For new players the F2P option is perfect. They have paid no money and now have access to the game. And it's really easy to get to preferred player - buy 1 quickbar (imho 3 are required) and they''re good to go and can experience the whole game until lv 50. And even have some fun there, if they dont play a lot (2-3 days / week). And if they really want to play hardcore endgame / so much a sub might be the correct way. Of course Bioware should offer new character slots in their shop, but I think that's probably on their list already. On the other hand returning players (like me) already have paid quite an amount of money. Disregarding the sub money (we had full access for those months), but the initial purchase (dont remember the exact price, but keep the deluxe buyers in mind as well). I personally think a third quickbar is required (guardian, vanguard both PvP). 4 are a convenience (quick travel, mount, legacy abilities, ...) so paying for a forth seems ok. I personally lost trust in Bioware (due to a lot of broken promises & massive delays during my sub time). Nothing they've done so far has made me to trust them again. So I'm really reluctant to spend any money (since I already have paid quite a sum for the initial purchase), but I cannot play the game in it's current state due to only having 2 quickbars. So I'm in a dilemma. Let us play the game - with game time restriction as limited warzones, limited flashpoint, no operation access, also limited characters if one hasnt created a ****ton of lv1 twinks when one could. And during playing the game the trust will return. Which will lead me personally to buy stuff or even resub (though I think that's unlikely). See you in 3 months, or 6 or whenever they or I change our minds.
  5. It's called guest mode / guesting. You can join your friends on other servers (but cannot participate in WvWvW to prevent winner team joining / spying). Dont know too much details though, since I'm not that interested in GW2 atm.
  6. System needs to be designed from the start to support this (see GW2, also D3 is basically doing the same). Since SWTOR isnt designed that way (since it's too old and people didnt think about such stuff when starting) it's not feasible without great effort.
  8. "pre-1.2 Watchman Sentinel/Annihilation Marauders, Shadow/Assassin 31-pt tanks, and Assault Spec Vanguards/Pyrotech Powertechs were overpowered, and Scoundrel/Operative healers were underpowered." "he same healer playing a Sage/Sorc versus Operative/Scoundrel will heal much more effectively with the latter." So how does this make balance WORSE? It's the same. Pre 1.2 one healing class was better - post 1.2 the other is better. Sure, it doesnt make the balance better, but it's also not making the balance worse. Not even mentioning that pyroPT got a nice nerf. PvP Gear: pre 1.2 we could get 7 champion commendations (needed for 2nd best PvP set) for 800 warzone comms. iirc you needed 67 comms for 1 piece (chest, helm, hands, ...) so that's 9 bags. So 5600 warzone comms for 1 piece of the 2nd best pvp set. The chance to find a finished token post 1.1.5 (?) is negligible (never found one after 1.1.5). Now in 1.2 you need ~12.5k warzone comms for FULL bm - the 2nd best PvP set. Sure - is it fair to match recruit geared players against full augmented WH guys? No. But there are a lot of things which arent fair in the game (premade vs randoms, full bm vs 0 expertise pre 1.2, ...). Ranked warzones will (hopefully) change this. People with good gear will play in the higher regions and new players will be able to acquire gear during their ascend to those regions.
  10. Definitely agree here. "Oh recruit gear is soo bad compared to WH gear". Yeah, there's a difference. But it wouldnt matter if the PvP newbies would be matched against other PvP newbies with equal gear. And while slowly climbing the ranked "ladder" they would acquire gear to match their opponents. It sucks now but as soon as ranked are implemented it's fine. I also disagree with the whole "balance was better before 1.2". He states himself: "pre-1.2 Watchman Sentinel/Annihilation Marauders, Shadow/Assassin 31-pt tanks, and Assault Spec Vanguards/Pyrotech Powertechs were overpowered, and Scoundrel/Operative healers were underpowered." Looking at the DPS builds - basically nothing changed. People still think that marauders, assassins are a bit (or more) too strong. PyroPT got nerfed (no more tankstance). The only real change is "The same healer playing a Sage/Sorc versus Operative/Scoundrel will heal much more effectively with the latter. " Oh wait a moment .... Before 1.2 one of the healing classes was bad (scoundrel/op) and one was good (sage/sorc) and now it's just reversed. How does that make balance worse? Sure it was ****** before 1.2 but it's still the same ****. Not more ****.
  14. Do you also know for sure that they didnt have a CC immunity buff on them? I've seen plenty of people trying to knock me back, CC me, etc when I am immune vs CC. With 0 resolve they might think "OMG resolve buggy - I cant CC him".
  15. I think their goal is actually that there is NO incentive. No "I will roll a <race> because it's the best race for what I want to do". That said I think it's better they remove the human presence bonus and add something else, like more haircolors, more heads (the head option^^) etc. Purely comsetic, like the other unlocks.
