  1. It's not "needed" at all, it's something you would like. I don't care if it's in or out. Suggestion box is at the top of this forum, left hand side. Perhaps you could post it in there?
  2. I think you'll find my account is peachy, darling
  3. Drexel sweep is a nightmare, especially if you're in a ship with only a few T5 upgrades and no "special" items. You absolutely NEED a Warfare pod - this will give you invulnerability for 10 seconds, which is essential if you're going to survive halfway through the mission when all the TIE fighters swarm at you, and a rival ship is shooting you. Once you've activated the warfare pod, launch as many missiles as you can at the TIEs and shoot the rival ship down ASAP - he does a lot of damage. Then switch to your lasers and gun the TIEs down. Coming out of this, I usually press "2" to get my shields on the mend and then "1" to get my lasers back up to scratch. Also - Don't be shy with missiles!! You don't have to buy more, and there's no bonus mission for shield generators. Go nuts, give the Imps a rocket sandwich.
  4. Reportable, it's bad sportsmanship and it's not the reason PvP exists. It's competetive. It's like being in a game of football, and going and sitting on the sidelines while your team plays. The ref would book you and kick you off.
  5. Because people who have paid money for something that they ultimately don't like - regardless of the quality - feel entitled to complain. And they are - but that doesn't mean they should. Many people think that they have the moral high ground, and really they're just making themselves look a bit childish and pointless. We, as mature (most of the time) adults, need to take the chicken-littles with a pinch of salt (and a spot of Paxo) and filter it.
  6. There's a tunnel on Belsavis where the elevator shaft looks EXACTLY like a floor from the right angle. I fell down it. Twice.
  7. It's because nothing needs to be done? I've got a decidedly average rig - hell, the Processor is an Intel E6600, which I think is about 7 years old? TOR runs perfectly fine on my machine. The loading times are about 30-40 seconds, and I'm fine with that. I go put the kettle on. I'm running: Intel E6600 (That's 2 cores at 2.4GHz) P5N-E SLI Motherboard (ASUSTeK) nVidia Geforce GTX 560 (EVGA base model) 4GB RAM (I'm on Windows 7, 32-bit) One monitor @ 1920x1080 I have everything - EVERYTHING - set at max. Anti-aliasing, shadows, shaders, whatever. Everything's maxed out. The only lag I get is in PVP, and all I have to do is turn shadows down/off and it runs perfectly fine. Shadows aren't that important in PvP. I get FPS of around 30-40 on Alderaan, I get 20-40 on the fleet depending on how busy it is, and I get no less than 55 in space, even with plumes of smoke everywhere. The engine works, my PC handles it VERY well and as you can see, it's not exactly made by NASA, now, is it? The way some people go on, you'd think that anything below 60FPS is unplayable? Anything above 30 is playable - and I'm a short-sighted gamer of 25 years who can notice this kind of thing. It's fine! Now, if it was 15 or below all the time, I'd be complaining and doing research into why that is - which is what his advice was to do.
  8. Well mate, there's millions of people out there who think it is... So it must be so I mean, I agree, it's a trilogy that's essentially about a small postman, with more walking in it than my Duke of Edinburgh's Award, but it's a damn good read and the lore behind it is fantastic. It's stood the test of time quite nicely, too. I fear you may be outvoted on this
  9. Sorry, but I have a limited amount of patience for someone who uses "fail" as anything other than a verb. Here's my two-penneth anyway: Check your skill list before you go on the GTN, Check your skill list before you right-click a schematic (nobody's going to steal it off you.) Yes, it would be cool if they added a little red label saying "Already Known" but let's be honest, it's hardly a game-breaker is it?
  10. I think TOR will be my MMO of choice until the recently-hinted-at Elder Scrolls MMO (http://uk.gamespot.com/news/elder-scrolls-mmog-reveal-in-may-6366626) And to be honest, if they keep releasing new content for TOR and keeping it polished, I can't see myself unsubscribing anytime soon. It's a peach of a game
  11. I really liked the chick on Hoth - "He's crazier than a snow cat with heat-stroke!"
  12. I'm not saying it's not worth the effort, not at all. I'm more than happy, as you can see, to hold a conversation without degenerating into some kind of troll-like creature and yelling obscenities that would make a dock worker blush at you. So we are two - if any of the other 50-odd people who have viewed this topic would like to start a movement, now is the time to speak and take action! Let's get this thread stickied, and let's see if there's a difference made! On the other hand, we'll get a troll who starts a flame war... and the thread will be closed down by a moderator. So which is it to be? Dark side or Light side? Paragon or Renegade? Good or bad? I vote good. Let's get this stickied, and let's start cleaning this place up.
  13. I do certainly think the signposting of the "rules of conduct" could be much more clearly displayed, and I do think that moderators, most of the time, are fairly good at what they do. However, I do think that there needs to be a degree of self-moderation, and I'm sorry, but I really don't think the playerbase en masse has it in them to be given that amount of responsibility. As much as I would like to see a cleaner, fresher, more intellectual and deep place of conversation, as you say - I really don't hold out much hope. There's just so many variables; had a bad day at the office? Come to the TOR forums and snipe at people. Just split up with your girlfriend? It's TOR's fault, and anyone who says otherwise or gets in your way eats word-bullets. As I type this, it becomes clear to me that as far as MMOs go, unless you're reporting a problem in the "Bugs and glitches" section, you don't want to touch the online community with a 10-foot pole. I'm only here myself because I believe fervently in what you say and suggest. Perhaps I'm being harsh. Perhaps I'm being lenient, that's for the readers and the people who digest the threads to decide. But honestly? I don't know. I truly wish it could change, but sadly, forums are usually a fairly good cross-section of society. And society has got it's fair share of dross.
