  1. I wouldn't mind doing more flashpoints but waiting around for a half an hour for a group, running the mission for an hour only to find at the last boss that the group is not balanced well enough and then spend the next hour trying to rework the group appropriately just isn't fun. Particularly when I tend to do 15-30 minute stints in the game and work on other things in between. Might be happier if flashpoints where shorter... I don't know.
  2. There is a difference between intent and action. If someone is a good person but follows orders they believe are right which lead to the slaughter of hundreds of innocent people are they evil? If a person just like to kill but joins the military so they can kill legally without getting arrested are they a good person? I'm sure there are lots of people out there who are very good people normally but hand them a weapon and tell them that all those people over there ***** and pillaged innocents they would go into a blood rage and start slaughtering. This is what I consider to be a light side Jedi, they kill for the right reasons but they sure as hell aren't peaceful doing it.
  3. This I agree with. I particularly liked the way "Traitor" dealt with light/dark. I'm kind of annoyed that they went and made it the first step of Jacen's fall to the dark side and made Vergere a Sith rather than considering light/dark to be how the Jedi wields the force, not inherent in the force.
  4. The Revan novel completely disagrees with you.
  5. My light side Sith does good actions but isn't truly lightside. He believes himself to the the ultimate Sith, he cannot be defeated. As a result he prefers not to kill and to be merciful as those he leaves alive with either recognize his greatness or choose to attack him again. If he is attacked again it is simply an opportunity to grow even more powerful. He believes he has nothing to fear and fuels the dark side through pure passion to dominate others. I'm sure in the real world he wouldn't survive long but its an interesting persona to explore within the game.
  6. We currently have no way to cause light to go so far and terminate. You would need some sort of field that causes massive amounts of light inside it. The best approach we currently have really is a contained plasma fountain which based on current theories would need a massive magnetic field to contain it and redirect the fountain back into the handle to complete the circuit. Really, a lightsaber that looks anything like star wars requires completely different technology. Metal swords with fields to deflect lasers and other projectiles would be a different matter...
  7. I, Jedi with Trator and the X-Wing series (I think Wraith Squadron over Rogue Squadron by a tic) not too far behind.
  8. Assassinating the Jedi was the big key. Mental programming while in the tube. Ultimately its because the first movie mentioned the clone wars, at that point Darth Vader wasn't even Luke's father according to some so the rest of the story was just bits and pieces not put together anyway.
  9. Yeah, ran into a few while running beta (but was able to solo all mine with some difficulty). Area quests are triggered by walking into an area (so you may want to point this out in asking for a group) whereas heroics are all NPC given. The couple I ran into were rather fun.
  10. As soon as possible for each individual, it isn't possible right now for EVERYONE to be in the game. Their options were to hose the servers so no one could play, or bring in a few at a time. With bringing in a few at a time their choices (probably among others) were to bring people in based on order of preorder or random choice. Either way if you didn't preorder right away, odds are poor for you (one out of what, 2-3 million?) to get in on the first day.
  11. Up to 5 days so between 0 and 5. Has that promise been broken yet (other than the decision to extend it more than 5)?
  12. Yeah, basically I believe the e-mail stated that they got their copies on the 14th and thanks to my 2 day shipping it should arrive on the 16th. I presume for others it could arrive later but should leave on the 14th... just my guess anyway.
  13. Because too many people cried about not getting their physical copy by the 20th and not being able to play after EGA ends so they sent them early. They could let everyone in on the 20th but then the starter planets would be absolutely swarmed (unless planet instancing works good then I don't know the exact reason) and no one could play. Ultimately if everyone is annoyed and minimal amount of people are completely pissed, Bioware did their job
