I disagree wih a lot of your post, I play deception periodically, here is a vid: We have control, burst and decent sustained: between spike, Low slash, slow, electrocute and overload you have plenty. A few notes for both PVE and PVP: Don't maul without the proc, it's a waste of a lot of force, VS instead. Rotate Fade and Force Cloak to maximize force regen, in a 7 min fight you should use FC and fade 3 times. Also when you need force boost to finish someone of - use cloak then spike. VS is a good stealth opener and filler. Deception has one major downside, and it's not the damage. It's the combination of no utility and very poor survivabilitty / mobility. My wish list would be 1 min CD of Force Cloak that actually gets you out of combat and doesn't break on dots - this would also buff regen via dark embrace, free cost of maul under duplicity proc and force speed removing roots. Now if we also got some group utility like armor pen debuff on targets on top of it, life would be good.

  4. Follow healers around and be an annoyance to enemy team and soak the damage while having completely neutered damage output, all while surviving 1-3 seconds longer then the same Sin tank in dps gear that is top 3 damage evey game.
  5. Many will argue, but IMHO any Sin tank in pure tank gear is selling himself short. You would find that you aren't sacrificing much in terms of survivability & utility by going full DPS gear optimized for Power / Surge, in fact you'll actually start contributing to damage done in games and not just being 1/2 a wasted spot.
  6. Focus, if the rest of your gear is Stalkers. Generator if the ret of your gear is Survivors - though then I would ask why did you bother.
  7. I want to get something out way before I answered your question, did you spec darkness to dps or to actually tank? If your answer is to dps, then you're not a tank, just a Darkness specced dps, in which case you should prioritize Power / Surge on mods and enhancements (lower will, higher power ones) and augment for Will - 18wp/12 end. In the end you want to end up with 1100+ exp, 550+ bonus damage, 75% Crit multiplier and 20-25% Crit. If you specced darkness to tank, then stack expertise and endurance followed by defense and absorb. Aug for Absorb or Def + power.
  8. My ideas on helping deception: 1. Add Force Speed removing snares into deception tree, roll it into blackout, also make it so that you're immune to new slows / roots for the duration of force speed. 2. Further lower CD of Force Cloak in Dec Tree, should end up 1 min CD, still longer then Marauders. Also fix his to actually get you out of combat evey time, even with dots on.you. Having to use force shroud before vanish and still have it fail to get you out of combat is not cool. 3. Add a skill to proc a free free maul when using surging charge, 50% is still low. That would make me play Dec again, that being out of the way, here's Dec video:

  10. How about instead Force Speed and Force cloak make you immune to slow / root for the duration ( yes, after you use it and for the whole time active ) and Force Cloak not break on dots and actually take you out of combat instead.
  11. Us inquisitors have been tanking the nerf bat for two patches in a row, time to pass the baton to warriors and BHs IMO.

  14. 21/20 makes Melee mad, but otherwise yeah, Inquisitors are getting hated on in general, first Sorcs, now Assassins in 1.3, and the scariest thing is that most of the changes make no sense. Marauders, pyros etc continue to run amock while Inquisitirs are tanking the nerf bat for two patches in a row.
