  1. I find it amusing how some people are comparing current GW2 vs. SWTOR situation to SWTOR vs. WoW from the end of the last year. SWTOR was supposed to "kill" WoW and in the end it did not. WoW got some sub hit for sure but the long-term impact was not as big as some people predicted. It is fact that WoW lost many subs this year but it has more to do with lackluster quality of late Cataclysm content. The difference is, when SWTOR came out, WoW was still the same old behemoth which it was since years. With over 10 million active subs. The fact that SWTOR did not managed to "kill" it was expected becouse frankly no game could possibly accomplish such feat. And what is the current state of SWTOR? Less than 1 million subs and still falling down each month. The release of F2P plan less than a year after the game went out is a clear sign of EA/Bio going into panic mode. At this stage any large release on MMO market is potentially dangerous and EA/Bio have a lot more to worry about than Blizzard had in last December. Of course there will be many people who will remain loyal to SWTOR and will stay. Simply becouse they like it from whatever reason. And SWTOR will most likely not "die". MMO can run for years even with small few hundred thousand subs base (EVE Online being a good example). But saying that "lolololol GW2 will fail hard same as always and everyone will be back to SWTOR" sounds like playing with fire. SWTOR is in much weaker shape than WoW ever was. That is SWTOR's own fault, not anyone elses. But games like GW2 can only magnify this problem.
  2. I LOVE stories in games. I love playing Mass Effect and similar types. But this is MMO. I expect something different from MMO. Sure, the story in SWTOR is cool but if that is the only selling point I am not going to keep it subscribed for months/years like they wish we do. Not unless they release a new chapter of story each month which is unrealistic to expect.
  3. I am sorry but you are just being ignorant. Playing on the weaker faction (if there is one which is much weaker on your server) will often equal to smashing your head into the wall. I can play 15 matches during a day and still dont manage to complete a daily. Why? a) Half of the time we start with 6 people (on my server there is barely enough people on Republic to fill two 8-man warzones in lv-50 bracket, so one group will often start with 6-7 people which will fill after several minutes) b) Much more BM premades on the other side. PUG vs. premade = steamroll c) When you do manage to win, it will sometimes not count becouse of that *** bug d) The "looser" mentality which develops among many Republic players over time I sometimes roll with a strong premade and then we steamroll Empire 95% of time (I get to play in that premade becouse I was observed to produce good stats and follow the tactics properly). But when I queue with a PUG the experience is absolutly horrible. I may even dominate the warzone in overall effectiveness but my team will still get stomped becouse Empire team is made half from battlemaster overlords doing PvP 12h per day. I am a very persistent person when it comes down to challenges. And I will sit through and get it done no matter how hard it is. But in SINGLE PLAYER enviroment. And SWTOR? If I will spend 6 hours doing WZ nonstop, play my best, try to lead the WZ pug on chat and get decent stats, and in the end still fail to complete the daily becouse of issues mentioned above? And then you still tell me that I dont "deserve it" (unlike a mouthbreather who picked Empire side and gets carried by the faction imbalance on the server)? My only possible response to that would net me a ban from this forum so I will keep it to myself.
  4. I really start to develop hate for people who rolled Sorcs. One day media will have another news story where they will be able to blame computer games for another violent rampage. More seriously speaking, if I would have to decide who will not get a present next Christmas, it would be bullies who rolled Sorcs. Seems Bioware 's "balance" starts to get results.
  5. This is misconception that some people spread and claim they have smooth warzones. 15fps is NOT smooth. If your FPS drops below 30 on regular basis it is NOT smooth. One could argue that 20fps is enough for a human eye but I disagree. As far as I can tell anyone can notice a difference between 20fps and 30fps. I personaly can instantly see a difference between 30 and 50 as well. But all wishes aside, 30fps average is IMO the line from which we can call game running smooth.
  6. Exactly. But guess what. SWTOR also has horrible game engine. I am really willing to give Bioware time to fix bugged game concepts and mechanics. But how big chances are that they are going to fix the entire engine? IMO picking Hero Engine to run SWTOR was a ginourmous mistake. I am really really tired chopping each warzone match with 15 fps with all low settings while my PC can run every single other modern game with ultra settings and smooth FPS. SWTOR has IMO worst game engine from all MMO-s released in the last 10 years (taking the current state of art level into account). The only one which was equaly bad was... yep, Warhammer. How they can possibly fix that is beyond me. For now I keep playing becouse I do not see the alternative to start with. But the moment something catches my attention and Bioware will still not do something about this worthless engine, I am out. Yes that is just me but there is a chance some people will have similar approach.
  7. I am playing Republic and the day I will realize that faction balance is broken beyond repair I will quit. Becouse this will mean entire game is broken for good which would make me quit either way. So dont reroll Empire becouse this is short-sighted. By doing so you only bring the entire game closer to a fail for everyone.
  8. I say give him raise. The guy obviously has some balls.
  9. Someone may troll me for that but... Guild Wars
  10. I feel you. Terrible bad luck in terrible RNG system. Normally I dont support spaming more threads with same issue but in this case I think it is justified. Say NO to Champion/Battlemaster bags!
  11. I always prefer to play a weaker side becouse I do not want to be part of the problem but rather part of the solution. And if game producer fails to address the problem properly, it only means that the game ends up broken overall and as such is not worth playing.
  12. Aweus

    a little frustrated.

This tidbit made me chuckle. Describes well enough the state of Imperials on my server.

    PVP is dying fast

This seems to be true. My lv19 commando healer in rather decent level appropriate gear heals with his main heal for 1500 non-crit. This is just very weak for 12k health bars.

I tested this to be 13.00 CET which converts to 05 AM PST.
