  1. yeah, an empty game with no content will have matching empty servers.
  2. i myself loved it and i will tell you why. the way the combat worked allowed for the more skilled player to win, and the skill setup allowed to to customized the class to play playstyle, the pvp was dynamic and flowing and required me to think while playing. The wvw pvp was alot like DAOC frontir of which i LOVED, the people whining about it either did not play daoc or have been brain washed by other mmos better left unsaid, GW2 is quite complex to pvp with, but on the surface looks like an aoe smasher, it isn't though. gw2 is the best mmo i have played this year, the sooner it is released the better the genre will be.
  3. So, i have just finished playing the GW2 beta, and i dont know what to say... How can a free to play mmo be so much better in pvp and pve compared to a game that has cost me what? over £160 pound at a guess, maybe alot more for those who bought the CE copy, here is an example as to why im so shocked.. my spec, hd 7970x2 crossfire Intel i72600k 5ghz 16gb ddr3 SSD 128gb gaming drive, 65gb ssd windows. when i tried to mass pvp on ilum with about 30+ people on screen the game ran at about 10 to 20fps then the server crashed.... GW2, they stated that it is CPU heavy atm and is not optimized and does not use crossfire so the game was running on one gpu 3 factions, i was defending a keep, mass effects and aoe all over the pass, we had about 220 people defending, there were atleast 100 green(server 2) and mybe 200 blue(server 1) and guess what... i was getting 40 to 60 fps, with some dips towards 30 fps but totally playable, the server lag was avg though due to it being beta, making it unplayable some times, but over all it was totally epic. the fight ended with us forming 2 raids and going out of the postern doors either side of the group and taking them with a pincer movment, i was a warrior so i spent most my time... dead. then you had the battlegrounds, they were epic, you setup your char how you like, you get put in with people around your own skill level(mine being the bottom feeders ) and battle. in short, its depressing to have to pay for swtor knowing that it lacks everything a game needs to be fun
  4. so, 24/25th is when we get the free 30 days and the pet? well... i have had 3+ level 50s and legacy rank 35 for quite some time, so when the time comes to get my free month, thinking to myself, i will give the game 30 more days since they are free before i quit.. well you know what... the bastards took the month from my account, so much for free month... i just think these are little cunning plans to keep people playing alittle bit longer, the carrot on the stick system, a week before next monthly i bet we see another announcement that is a lie too.
  5. they are not overpowered one on one, you can counter a rage mara/jugg with ease, and the other specs are not hard to counter either, some classes my have issues but then that is the way of rock papper sissor system. and i said> A fight starts at a defense point, 4 warrior charge in, they charge and preload smash, the smart players run for it but half the group is still defending, some one uses aoe stun. i did not say all at the same time, that is what you assumed, when a skirmish starts the first thing most rage warriors do is charge using their talent base charge, this give them the crit buff, then i say preload smash, tho those that pvp know this means force choke for the damage stacks.
  6. When i say warrior, i imply both jugg and mara, and when i say preload i imply they use their setup as in using talent based rage charge then force choke. (this is all at a defense point where there are many targets, they can if they wish use standard charge to change target, and root the target to perform a smash) and fyi i have a 50 mara, and am fully aware of what a rage spec and cant do. but like i said, reading comprehension, because you instantly start talking about 1 on 1...
  7. LMFAO LOL ROFL LOL so you drop an assassin(of which tank spec is pretty much the only viable spec still) claiming they are fotm, but then jump onto a jug which are the ultimate FOTM class atm. i bet you are rage spec too

The issue is this, all other AOE skills are low damage, and if not low damage they are marked with a ground target and have a delayed start, Rage warriors, be it jug or mara(or jedi counter parts) are different , they are highly mobile, have many at need control and defense kills and can out put a crit AOE of 5 to 7k(7k is total peak damage, 5k is the running average) Now, this is no issue when their is only one warrior, but get two or three or even four and add a healer... then the game becomes silly, and that is what we are seeing how, because the class has it all, damage defense and utility. some might be wondering why it gets silly, so i will put it in a way you can understand. A fight starts at a defense point, 4 warrior charge in, they charge and preload smash, the smart players run for it but half the group is still defending, some one uses aoe stun. now, i will stop there to note the gear of most players. " most are in battle master with 1k expertise and 16k to 20k health depending on setup, the rest are in recruit with 800 expertise and about 13 to 15k health. The warriors use smash, hitting the lower geared players for 6k maybe 7 if they are unlucky(lowest avg 6000 x 4 = 24k) the weaker players instantly die, no healing can save them. The players in the better gear are hit for alot less, maybe 4800 to 5k (lowest avg 4800 x 4 = 19200) only the tank spec players would live through this and die pretty much right after... NO other class can do this to a group, no other spec, no other attack in a game can instantly take out this many players without having some kinda warning. And that is why they are overpowered, this is a group pvp game, and for that reason they are overpowered and that is why all warzone are pretty much 70% all warriors "
  9. so wait? you are saying that battlegrounds are more fun? because they are scripted and linear and limited to how many you actually get? so you end up playing the same tired old thing day in and day out... you are saying that is better than.. dynamic flowing combat in a strategic game of war, battling for objectives, leading small skirmish groups to attack other points in a game of cat and mouse while the main force attacks a base. defending said base, using cunning tactics or using skirmish groups run by others to co ordinate attacks and assaulting key points on the war map? how can you say world pvp is boring? maybe you should try other mmo where content like this exists.. BUT by all means grind your pathetic little warzones, do the same thing day in and day out, get that gear to do it some more.... WOW fun, maybe they will add ranked arena where you can show off your ***** rewards to your fellow epeeners

Well for MAYBE THEY shouldnt play on a pvp server. where it states and WARNS in the rules about such things... also show be where you get this magic info from? i would like to see it really i would, because you say all that crap like you mean it without any supporting data, "Oh, look world pvp stops when there are battlegrounds i know because i said so" also. you totally missed the whole point of openworld pvp, take a look at warhammer, at DAOC, at guild wars 2 world vs world vs world. it has nothing to do with ganking lower levels, but if they goto where the action is and die its thier own fault.

Eve online > hah if you dont know why i put this here you dont know much about mmos Ultima online starwars galaxy shadow bane age of conan all done pvp that never got boring...... you know why modern mmos world pvp is boring? because people are reward monkeys, back in the days of the good mmos you pvped to pvp and you did it for realm pride not because you get a shinny token to get a colorful headdress.. also the devs seem to put a much higher reward on instanced battles now compared to world pvp, this ofc means every bugger runs to the instance not because they are more fun, but because the reward is better. Oh, and daoc still has the best battlegrounds ever to hit an mmo, a 24/4 persistant sandbox where actions taken effect the realm... what does this game have?
  12. I love to pvp, its all i do, i love building my class from level one, learning all the quirks and facing off against other like minded people.. This game has nothing to offer in the way of pvp content, when i subbed i was given to think their would be a planet for pvp, but that just turned into a game of pac-man, you grab the armaments while the enemy(the ghosts) run around behind you trying to catch you.. The warzones are all the same apart from huttball which is the only game that uses any real strategy, but play anything enough and you get bored, and my god are these war-zones getting boring, and from what i can see that is the only pvp content.. World pvp is key now days, it never gets boring because its ever changing, its dynamic and unscripted, this game was doomed to fail in that respect the second they used this silly instancing system, there is no point to pvp servers at all. The warzones are tired and uninteresting, the game is played the same every time, and you win and lose the same every time, its like watching a rerun of a show you love, but then being forced to watch that same show 100x in a row because every channel is showing the same thing.. there is no pvp content, and the pve content while im totally uninterested in it, is done 100x better in many other mmos, everquest 2 being one, wow(sorry but its true) another.. sigh... well i dont plan to quit until some thing new is released, and i still have 30 days free... but damn am i bored.
  13. i have played mmo since maridian59, you name it i have played it, and this game has the worst cc system of any mmo i have ever played, why? well lets think about it. so we have many class roles, some classes have 1 stun other have 3 most classes get a knock-back or a root or a knock-back root. we all only get ONE (1) cc remover on a 2 min cool-down... that alone is totally retarded but it doesnt end their.. firstly roots ignore resolve, meaning warriors can charge you and stun you, then use ravage(if trained) to root you again then push you then charge at you again. this is the perma root effect, sorcerers get a form of this with their knockback as do snipers and mercs... in a mass pvp skirmish you can be pretty much rooted forever. then we have the stuns, since 1.2 the TTK has gone through the roof meaning one stun and your dead, but since you can be stuned 4 times before you get full resolve you can be locked down and killed with no issue and no way to counter(unless you are an assassin with shroud up) but that isnt it, explain to me why a sleep skill will instantly fill resolve, even though most are casted and one hit removes the effect while stuns are instant and allow the whole group to hit you while you are under the effect. it makes no sense. #Time to kill too high, making stuns too powerful, lower time to kill or lower stun duration to 2.5 sec #Roots are not affected by resolve. allowing for perma root effect, they should be add to and be effected by resolve #sleep should add less resolve, stun should add more resolve. #cc remover should be on 60 sec cooldown not 2 min and should grant 6 sec immunity.
  14. here are my times. for a tank assassin. NEVER cc remove the alpha strike knockdown. it isnt worth it. and i know some do it, but the second you recover use knockback shock, wither in that order then run in for spike thrash then shock, at this point use force shroud and use force lighting with recklessess, the operative should be low on health at this point where he starts to panic, use shock + snare and wither to kite, do not waste you last stun just yet, at this point use spike shock and wither stun him again then thrash shock + lighting. if he uses vanish, stealth yourself. other tips, use deflection only when you are at 50% health. if you are low on health or about to die and you KNOW he does not have his CC remover... vanish and sleep him then full heal.
  15. i would just like to add, while running through might work, it isnt 100% running way does not work unless you have speed, most warriors will only channel upto 3 hits unless they know they will get the full duration. also if you run you will be hit for uptp 10y away. its the same for all channeled attacks, you have a little give in the range once it has been started, for ravage its 10y
