QFT I can say with confidence that more money can be made for effort in places other than biochem. What's with the ridiculous whining now?
  2. great idea. Would love the idea of being able to use the legacy name as a first name applicable to all toons on an account. Another option that would be nice would be the ability to specify a legacy name for each faction. If I pick something (for illustration purposes) for my Jedi as "Goldenlight" and then decided to play on an Imperial Agent, the name does not fit. It can be very hard to pick a legacy name that fits all light and darkside characters.
  3. i'd love to see something like this implemented. Sounds fun!
  4. seconded. My sole issue is with the inclusion of mobs in openworld pvp zones. This is difficult to do without causing major issues. If you put in a boss mob that only 6 people can take down, and then it drops commendations... well... have you seen the state of ilum today? There would be people farming the heck out of commendations in groups of 50. PvE mobs in a PvP zone would have to be done similar to the way WoW handled Alterac valley. Something that requires a full raid group (or WZ group if you will) to take down, and even then, you're not always guaranteed that the group won't wipe. To further complicate this issue, there was a pretty drastic difference in the cap number of players allowed as AV was a wz, and was instanced. Warhammer's zones weren't a bad idea, but they failed from one major flaw, namely Win Trading. Serious work has to be done to ensure that once your faction captures an enemy base, you DON'T EVER want to relinquish hold of it. People will have to want to fight tooth and nail to keep it, otherwise they'll say : "meh, i don't care, let the other side win it, so that we can win it back) A serious dissection of what made open world so wildly popular in Age of Camelot may help a ton here. (Although I've never played that game, I've heard it was nothing short of incredible... )
  5. I like the idea of a weekly tally. Final Fantasy 11 has this, it was tied to each zone, where a specific faction would own a zone based on different factors. Some being: How many experience yielding mobs were killed within the zone by each factions, How many deaths occurred by each faction, how many outpost battles (spawned PVE) events were won and by which factions. When the weekly tally was completed, on Sunday Mornings, the zone would change ownership. The owner of the zone would get benefits such as NPCs that allowed instant warping back to a location of their choice, items that could be purchased for trade skills that were specific to that region (as a quick example maybe a special crystal can be purchased unique to ownership of the Ilum zone that would allow crafting a unique lightsaber or blaster...), and an experience or faction bonus for each mob killed. I can see that adapted to the way SWToR works. The idea of building up defenses for an owned Control Point is great, but there would have to be major beneficial boons for keeping a control point, otherwise people won't defend it, and it leads to Win Trading. You'd find no people pumping defenses unless there was a tangible benefit for doing so.
  6. Noticed this the other day, and /bug'd it. What's even sadder than this, is that the droid can only be called for 30 seconds with a 30 MINUTE COOL DOWN?! Can you please adjust this to a 5 or 10 minute cool down? 30 minutes is so extreme.
  7. It's good to know that people can't fly into there now.
  8. *snicker* until server start? someone is a little delusional.
  9. people of your OWN faction are indicating that they are AFK'ing their level 20's to valor rank 100 (or trying) while turrets are destroyed. That's fact enough for me.
  10. except that per bioware's own admission, rep forces suffer worse from the "skill lag" issue. GG
  11. His point was that people roll the imp mirror class with lightning, causing the faction imbalance. Who wants to throw rocks when you can shoot awesome purple lightning?
  12. Possibly he meant Jim Lee? hehe Lando Calrissian wore a cape!
  13. I'm so glad that they repaired the search function, as I was going to create a similar topic. Anyway, I'm sitting at 40.08% crit right now with a 78% surge rating. That's with every piece of gear having +crit and using mastercraft implants that also have +crit augments in them. I'm not sure if I had on our buff or not. But it does seem like there are major diminishing returns. I'd be curious to know what the perfect split between crit and surge is.
