  1. I recently made a Sorcerer alt and I plan to do mainly PVE healing. But he's only level 10, and so, of course, I'll be needing to level him. Is it viable for me to put points in Corruption while I'm leveling, or should I wait until 50? Or should I do a hybrid build for leveling? Or should I just put points in Lightning or Madness and if so will I be able to heal well enough in Flashpoints?
  2. I agree the race choices are a bit lacking - nothing gamebreaking of course, but it'd be cool to play as something a bit more different. I think it's all speculation but I've heard that as the Legacy system is updated, it may allow you to unlock new races.
  3. People keep asking, "Well how do you reward neutral people fairly? There can't be neutral tiers." They're forgetting that the game tracks your light and dark points separately. Perhaps neutral tiers could be tracked with both; for example, Neutral I could be 500 light and 500 dark. Then to prevent problems with going light or dark, neutral alignments could require the player's dark and light points to be within a couple hundred of each other.
  4. I came to SWTOR as sort of an evacuee from the sinking ship that is WoW, where I played a priest and switched back and forth between shadow and holy occasionally. Other than dabbling a little bit with an alt, I never really got much experience with tanking. But I figured it out based on what I saw other people do. But I had always wanted to tank, so when I got SWTOR, I decided to be a Vanguard - I don't know, they just looked really awesome. I guess people would probably be pretty understanding in low level content (I'm only level 18), but I'm still kind of nervous to try my hand at tanking without knowing too much about what to do. I can basically figure out that Neural Jolt is a taunt and that kind of basic stuff, but I don't really know what my general rotation should look like. Any advice would be appreciated.
  5. I'm with you. But in the eyes of a lot of people here, anyone who doesn't hate the game is obviously a fanboy.
  6. This. Constructive criticism is a great thing, but the entire forum is full to the brim with practically nothing but nearly-identical QQ threads. These people are not concerned with bettering the game. They're just throwing a hissy-fit because they don't get to play a game tailored to their exact idea of perfection.
  7. Pretty much this. For 3 days I spent most of my time playing my Trooper and he's level 18. In fact, I've barely dabbled in crew skills and haven't touched PVP yet. I'm not concerned about leveling efficiently; leveling is actually fun in this game, unlike WoW. I've been savoring it. It's not a rush to get to 50 so I can see the endgame. You have to understand that there's not an expectation that most of the player base will hit the level cap so soon after launch. BW has already promised new content for next month, but really you would be able to have a lot more fun with the current content if there were more level 50 characters running around. Congratulations, you finished fast; the rest of us are still working our way up, and you're gonna have to wait now.
  8. I'm with OP. I've never seen more possibility for group-oriented play in another game. It's whatever you make it. Personally I've been too excited about the amazing single player content to be bothered with heroics or flashpoints, but if that's what you're looking for, it's readily available, well... everywhere.
  9. While SWTOR has its shortcomings, I fail to see it as the steaming pile of donkey excrement that some whiners here would have me see. It's not radically different from WoW, and even corrects some of its most annoying issues (mindlessly boring leveling, general dumbing down as of recently, etc.), and yet some people want to act like BW is the antichrist for ever letting such a monstrosity lee the light of day. I can see that there's definitely room for improvement, but what's really that bad about it? Personally I think SWTOR is one of the most enjoyable games I've played. For the first time, I feel like leveling is part of the game, not just a nuisance I have to overcome to reach the endgame.
  10. Those of you who are complaining so much, I'd like to remind you that you're not entitled to anything. BW is not your government, your employer, nor are they your mother. They have no responsibility to cater to your every whim. They provide a product and you, of your own volition, pay to use that product. Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of the workings of a market economy should be able to get it through their head that, if they're not satisfied with said product, they can stop paying and therefore stop playing. That's what I did with WoW; I grew bored with it and stopped. It's as simple as that. SWTOR is not like BW's single-player games; it's a living world and, as such, will keep changing as they receive feedback from the community. Of course it won't be perfect at launch (or ever). It's healthy to give suggestions and say what you do or don't like about the game; this will change it for the better. But there's no reason to get so hung up over this; nobody wants to hear sob stories about how you were so excited and then BW (who obviously hates kittens and makes small children cry) let you down. MMOs are not life - at least not for reasonable people. If they are for you, I implore you to seek help.
