  1. I like to switch back and forth between Merc Ars PVP and Merc BG PVP specs. I tend to do pretty well considering I only heal in my DPS PVP gear. My main issue is I'm pretty well known, since I PVP a TON, on my server and very rarely get left alone by the opposing team. lol. I'll do some warzones and post some numbers.
  2. Now I didn't play EQ but I started MMO's with WoW, and even when we played early early on in MC, BWL, ZG, AQ20/40 and Naxx.. we still used Damage Meters to track play style of DPS and Healers. WoW has had addon's since shortly after release.. The game nearly never went without. Now they weren't as wide spread as they became in TBC, but they were there. Many of the leaders in the guilds at the time were already using them to critique the game play of others. Someone is always watching when there is a way.. Many of us did care as many of us were progression oriented guilds. Now there was no DBM or the like at the time.. but the fights were more gear based and not skill based. Tanking with backs to walls, wearing the right amount of resistance, basically.. just staying alive. AQ40 and Naxx were the first DPS races we ever really truely saw. All I'm saying is these are GREAT tools for a raid leader and even personal use. I used to spend hours on a target dummy, Dr. Boom or running dungeons trying to perfect my rotations and gear sets. Can't do that without mods.. we then play a guessing game and break out the old stopwatch again.
  3. This is a ranged friendly fight, pretty easy to execute once you know the limitations and have people with good awareness. P1 - Kill Massey, no tank. DPS Lights his *** up. Tank stands on the far side of the medic interrupting heals when possible. Tanks job to occasionally run slightly out of range of Jor for heals from the Healer. P2 - Kill Medic, Tank positions himself at Max Melee Range of Jor. Still attempts to get interrupts on heals on the medic. DPS run in range of medic to DPS him. Run out if health to low. Heal yourself if possible. But try and burn down the Medic asap so he doesn't gain enrage. P3 - Kill Jor, Tank at max melee range of Jor. Healer at max healing range. DPS run in, place some hits, run out the moment he drops a nade on you. Rinse repeat. It's not a race at this point. The tank and healer can solo this from here on out, but it helps if the DPS can drop some instants on him. Healers ONLY focus this Phase is tank heals. DPS, youre on your own. GG - He's dead.. and the chest might be bugged.. lol
  4. I could flip 90% of this post by adding in reason why addons SHOULD be used. How do you know the raiders are good or bad without a way to track how they use their abilities or how they died so quickly on a pull? People look at this as a negative, "don't tell me how to play", but you only learn by making mistakes. There are always the select scrub out there that posts his damage meter on a trash pack or a Flashpoint/dungeon.. but honestly.. that's the same kid that makes your mom jokes on xbox live when he has a kill ratio of 1 to 22.
  5. OR maybe, you weren't as Hardcore or awesome as you think. I've run with groups before on my alts that are OK with bad or lacking players because they are just there for the fun of it and could care less what they down. But I am one of those raiders that will take a fight and pick it apart piece by piece, minute by minute and second by second to get the most out of my DPS or tanking and cd rotation. Calling people "lazy" or "bad", especially raid leaders, because they use addons is one ignorant statement. The addon's don't teach the fight, the strat posts do. The addons just make a raid leaders job easier so he doesn't have to sit there and time everything out with a stopwatch and screaming over vent. If anything, it makes the raider more accountable for being bad or good. Many folks claim they aren't afraid of that.. but then why make it such a big deal?
  6. The people complaining are indeed the anti-addon crew. If you haven't seen the 14 threads made by the same people over and over again, then you are just plain blind. The Pro-addon people are the ones debating with the whiners on how wrong you are. Just Sayin...
  7. Lots of people that are complaining are missing the facts.. WoW peaked at 12 million subscribers. WoW had hardcore and casual progression available to all. Maybe some of these mods made the fight easier but all were still achievable without mods. I still have friends in top 50 world guilds I used to raid with that use very little mods sub some screen clean up. Basically what I'm saying is if even 10 million of those 12 used mods, and most people do, money talks. And BW likes money.. and I like my mods. Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love...
  8. Consider yourself lucky I suppose. Been running Hardmodes for a couple weeks now with many locked chests after a kill even without a wipe.
  9. Not failing.. only wiped 4 times on boarding party end boss. I'm talking about multiple chests where they wont open even on a one shot one kill.
  10. There were addon's in Vanilla WoW.. My guild specifically used "Damage Meters" to monitor DPS, "Xperl" to monitor aggro and buffs/debuffs, and "CTRaid" to heal with emergency heal monitor in Naxx 1.0 . They just became more mainstream once TBC hit. I was one of those "people" that cleared end game content. It's easy to stand on the outside and claim things but I've been raiding in causual and hardcore enviroments for years. It's not a matter of being "comforably numb" at all. It has everything to do with improving on what others have already done right. I see MANY MANY things in SWTOR that resemble ideas and features WoW, amongst other MMOs, already has place in and learned from. If you wanted to play a different game with an entirely different feel then this isn't the game for you. They have taken the good and made it better and addon's and macro's are as much a part of that as anything else.
  11. So.. I've given up on running hardmodes until I see a patch note saying that the loot buggs are fixed. In PvP, I am atleast able to recieve the gear I worked hard for. I have run multiple hardmodes with maybe only 1 or 2 pieces of actual loot drop due to bugged out chests. This is aggrivating as first I have to pug a group, my friends arent all 50 yet, and then once we get moving through we start runing into lootless bosses yet spending a significant amount of time running these FP's. Could we get some confirmation on when this is addressed? Or possible how to reset/unlock the chests? I have submitted many tickets but lately I don't ever get a response.. I have 2 tickets that have been open for almost a week now. I know it's the holidays.. but shesh.
  12. Addon's on not the devil the OP is making them out to be. They add tools to the game to customize the look and feel. It's very amusing to me that people are calling others bad for using addon's. I raid lead for 3 and a half years in WoW.. if it hadn't been for raid tools such as recount, damage meters and skada, we would still be working on some of those bosses we got stuck on. Recount isn't just for damage monitoring and epeen measuring.. It would allow me to pull apart boss encounters on a hit by hit basis. Does this make me bad? Negative. Do you NEED addon's to progress? Negative. But if I were to give you a nail and a block of wood and say "place this nail flush in the center" you would have an awful struggle if I didn't give you a hammer or a flat rock to pound it in. It make it easier, but it doesn't remove difficulty. The ability to become a better player is what this game, and most MMO's with End-Game raiding and PvP are all about. You can disagree with me if you like, but meanwhile there are thousands and millions of players, yes.. millions, that are "Pro-Addon". Want proof, check out Curse and Wowinterface.com for evidence of these downloads. Watch streams of WoW players, the decent and the bad alike use addons. You bring up reasons why you don't like them, but most the people complaining about them sound to me like they have been "sat out" due to poor performance or made fun of for a bad show. What about the other side? The loud few are more visual than the quiet majority.
  13. Daily quests are your friend.. I hit 50 in 4 days played time and still had half a planet of quests to go. You probably skipped a lot of bonus objectives and quests. Illum does have 2 daily quests at wieght station worth 14k a pop... and super easy even with chapter 3 broken.
