  1. A big +1 here. Or a +whatever post we are at now. This will definetely help keep people around. Maybe I will resub in a few months now
  2. They could EASILY fix this by changing the daily to be "Attain 30 medals in Warzones". BAM! Win or lose I get my daily done at least, I can get medals regardless of how terrible my team is or how good the enemy is. Or add more dailies! Put some PvE bosses on llum you have to kill, make these mobs spawn randomly all over the map and design them to be taken down by a group of 4. Or add dailys to duel. Win 5 duels and you get 50/50. Or add cross server queues. OR, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PUT IN RATED WARZONES. In rated warzones make it an all or nothing reward system. The winning team gets 50 or 100 rated comms. The losing team gets nothing. This way the hardcore players get their winner take all game while the casuals could still farm the non-rated for gear and get 1/3 the rewards, but at least get something for trying. All I know is something needs to be done fast. After I made this post some guild mates read it and downloaded Tera (open beta starts tomorrow). 5 Subs cancelled all together. I know I am not the only one. I love the Star Wars IP, I like Bioware and I want this game to succeed. Its just so frackin terrible right now.
  3. I appreciate your post, and because Rated WZs are "coming" (who knows when) I will still troll the forums to see how things go. But until then I will not participate in a gear grind that relies HEAVILY on the opposing team not having better gear than you. In PvE there are gear stages. You get tier 1 gear from low level bosses to progress to tier 2. At tier 2 you face harder bosses but you get better gear and so on and so on. In this current iteration of PvP I face THE HARDEST BOSSES with crappy gear. I do not have a chance at winning when the same premade queues up at the same time. Its not possible. There are no stages, I dont fight equally geared players to get gear where I then fight better players. We are all lumped together. My only chance is staying up very late and waiting for them to stop queueing. I have even started asking them to let us win 1 game. Its funny, stealthing up and saying "Hey guys, what do you say next round you farm us for medals but in the last few minutes let us get a win huh? Just 1 win is all we ask while you stomp our faces in." Pre 1.2 I leveled my sniper and I did the dailies and what not and got Full champ in 2 weeks. I never ONCE thought about how long it would take to get that gear, it just came naturally. I got my ***** pushed in but I took it with stride and I never thought twice about quitting. My alt just hit 50 after 1.2. Now I spend 4 hours just TRYING to get my one daily done, all the while getting 0 to 40 comms a WZ. I had to ask myself one simple question: Am I having fun? Answer was easy, no. Subscription canceled. Not that difficult a decision. I hope SWTOR gets better, I really do. But as I have said I will not participate while they flush things out. I did that in Rift and will not do another gear grind. Now to all the self proclaimed hard core players out there, I have one simple question for you: Do you want to continue playing SWTOR? If you do, then you need SWTOR to be successful. In order for SWTOR to be successful they need to have enough subscriptions to pay for their original RnD, to pay for their current development, to pay for their current server/employee costs, to pay for their future content developement AND to provide a profit to EA/Bioware. Now which player base is bigger, hardcore players or casuals? Face it, by complaining that the game hands out PvP rewards too easily youre shooting yourself in the foot. PvP is about skill, MMOs are about progression. You have to combine the two and you have to have a happy medium to attract as much of both player bases. All because UO or SWG or EQ was only acessible to hardcore players does not mean todays MMOs have to be that way. The casual player is where the money is, and if you want your server to survive and not die like many other have already done you need to make the gear accessible to casual players. Simple business economics. Now, to everyone thinking I am a giant pu$$y, please tell me exactly WHAT IS SO WRONG WITH HAVING EQUAL GEAR IN PvP? Why are you so hell bent on seperating out those who can spend more time in game vs those who cant?
  4. The OP is basing this on 6 hours of playing a day. You will get the gear faster once you quit your job, break all ties with people in the real world and play 16+ hours a day. Red Bull, Monster and Mt. Dew fully support this.
  5. Wait just a minute here, youre saying that it may be possible to swap the Mod out of the Juggernaut Heavy Armor PvP set into any Orange Medium Armor and get the bonus? +10% damage after each and every force charge? That would be awesome Hot damn. If only I was able to play during primetime to get my dailies done in 1 day vice 2-3 I could actually do this. But alas, that would take until 2014 for me.
  6. Absolutely agree, make it so that the first players to get full gear are the best, most unbeatable payers ever. Make it so that when ever these elite, select few queue up no one even has a remote chance of competing against them. What a wonderful, entertaining and fun game! Also remove solo queing. Who cares if people sometimes have to work odd shifts and cant play during prime time. Who cares if someones guild decides to leave this terrible game for something else and now that person doenst have anyone to queue with. It should be 8v8 premades only, all day every day. Also, we should not tolerate proper grammer and spelling, like the OP. Why even try to come across as an intelligent human being when you can just rant incoherently on the internet? tl:dr OP is an idoit.
  7. Hit the nail on the head there. As soon as the game goes into rewarding the player who spends to most time in the game it turns into a snore fest. PvP is FUN, when the tables are close to even. Blowouts are not fun. Imagine any sport. Like american football. If everygame was won by the same team every year, no one would watch it. It wouldnt be fun. The game would die. That is why there are such strict rules regarding all the major league sports so that this does not happen. Real sports could EASILY turn into which ever team has the most money wins, but curently the team with the most money only has a slight advantage, not a game breaking-win every time-no fun for anyoe else advantage. SWTOR is now a gear grind. The person with the least amount of responsibilities in real life wins. The end. You cant PvP for fun with an 80% losing streak. PvPing for fun is actually fun when you dont know if youre going to win or lose. Thats when you can start having fun, when the determination of the fight is unknown at the start of battle. Which SWTOR does not have a majority of the time. Cross server queues would fix that, make the pool of teams bigger to draw from so we can start seeing some variation in our games and get rid of the gear farm.
  8. If you have a job, this game is not for you. If you have a family, this game is not for you. If you take a vacation to a place outside of the NA timezones, this game is not for you. If you volunteer to go to Japan to assist with rebuilding communities that were destroyed by last years earthquake and tsunami and you bring your laptop with you, do not play SWTOR PvP. If you have any other hobbies you enjoy doing, this game is not for you. If you rolled on a low population server, this game is not for you. If you rolled Empire and the Republic field the same premade during the only two/three hour time window you have to play and your side have no PvP healers that queue at that time, this game is not for you. If you do not win constantly, you will not farm enough tokens for gear before July of this year. This game is now a gear *GRIND*. It rewards players that spend the most time in game. This is a horible design It was not a grind before, you did your dailys for BM comms and you were done in a few hours. That is not a grind. You recieved the same amount of Comms for completing the dailies as the next guy. Even grinding 1000/1000 comms took FOREVER and buying 1 comm did not give a person a large advantage. The grinders did not have a distinct gear advantage over the casuals Yes, I know this is a hardcore vs casual complaint I am posting on the internet. From the dawn of MMOs its been "he who spends most time in game wins". And the grind was needed to keep players playing. Capping the rewards per day with an INSANE grind for a mediocre reward was a perfect setup. It lets us casuals, us with a life outside the game, feel a sense of accomplishment. And lets be honest here, thats what all MMO players want. Every single one of us want a sense of accomplishment. Right now it takes me 2 to 3 days to get 3 wins because of the time zone I am currently in, the server I play on and the side I picked. And I am in the #1 rated PvP guild on my server (no BS). So this isnt a get a guild issue. When I play with them on the weekends we win, however that opportunity is few and far between so I solo 90% of the time. My fun-o-meter is at 0, my ambition to get gear in this game has gone and I no longer look forward to coming home after a day of work and relaxing by finishing up some daily missions/quests and catch up to my peers in gear. This game punishes casual and solo players. Pathetic to no rewards for a loss with no negative affect applied when leaving a WZ leads to terrible games. Today I was the only person left after Republics capped Voidstar in 3 minutes. I just stood on our spawn waiting for my "teams" turn at offense to be over. That was not an enjoyable experience. Luckily though, after 4 hours of playing I got 2 wins and finished my daily from TUESDAY (at the time I write this it is 1 hour past the daily reset on Thursday). Many things will solve this issue. Redo WZ rewads to pre-1.2, so the grinders can still grind their little hearts out and get a negligible amount of comms over those of us with a life outside of gaming while still allowing us to stay competitive with gear. Or implement cross server queues so that I dont face the same premade again and again. and again. and again. ad nauseam Or server merge so there are more than 15 people queueing for WZs at unpopular times of the day. In summary, I have cancelled my account since I will not participate in a gear grind. My time runs out tomorrow. Maybe in a few months I'll be back, but with GW2 on the horizon I highly doubt that. Sayonara *****es
  9. Well, do we know what they are patching? Hopefully not Mara's rage spec, I *JUST* got home from work and had my first WZ... want to experience for at least another day
  10. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND Cancelled. Because of no rated warzones and yet ANOTHER gear grind. I am not gear grinding in PvP again.
  11. Hate to burst your bubble, but saber throw is still a lightsaber animation and sound. Very dissapointing
  12. I am a search tard, I know there is a post somewhere outlining this, but I just cant find it with the limited time I have to troll the forums, so I ask you, PvP Forum Masters. What is going to happen to stored BM Comms when 1.2 hits? I have 7 and I need 13 total to buy all my BM gear. I am saving up to have 13 and I was planning on buying everything else I need all at once just to see if theres a dramatic increase. If I cant get all my 13 badges before 1.2 comes, should I spend as many as I can on BM pieces or wait until the patch hits?
  13. Implement persistent owPvP or a large scale 20v20 objective based warzone with multiple objectives spread apart (aka not Warhammer RvDoor). Warhammer had the right idea, RvR. But they had terrible implementation. Learn from that.
  14. SWTOR has voice acting and cut scenes? And scrubs actually waste their time watching this useless crap? Admit it, you spacebared quite a few quests. And I am willing to bet you spacebar ALL CUT SCENES in every OPs you do now and every alt you make you space bar their quests. All that money only to be skipped most of the time. Yeah, quest cut scenes REALLY matter, make or break a game. Content and competition drive a game. Not cut scenes and pretty voices. No one gives two sh its if Ms. Colon spends 5 mintes talking about how broken her heart is since a boar killed her husband and now you have to kill 10 boars vs. a dialogue box that says KILL 10 BOARS NAO!
  15. There is not one legitimate reason to not add arenas, as long as the best gear is not tied to them. Have arenas reward warzone commendations. This way you can use them to get champ gear but you cant use them to get BM gear or higher. The rewards can also be visual, titles, speeders, ship augments etc... Nothing stat based that is the highest tier gear. You can also balance the arena rewards to be less than WZ rewards. In a winning warzone match I get around 80 commendations. It last about 10 minutes. So lets take an arena, which can last 5 minutes. A win rewards 20 to 30 commendations. You get two wins in the same amount of time but less commendations. *The numbers above are MADE UP and are used to show that you can decrease the rewards for arena to be less than the rewards for warzones.
