  1. In your opener, why don't you use aegis assault right before crushing blow? Doesn't aegis make it become AoE + threat?
  2. Most of my old toons have Biochem. I have Armormech, Synthweaving, Biochem and Artifice to 600. Should I even bother re-rolling crafting for the others? Are they even necessary at this point?
  3. I want to help people become better players. Before each flashpoint i'll ask if they would humor me and - open their Interface Editor - find the group target frames and click enable - ask the group to try using it for a few fights I don't know how responsive players will be to me holding up the group for a minute before each Flashpoint but I'm going to try IMHO clicking on a frame is easier than clicking on the mob or acquire targets target or even following a big icon over its head.
  4. Focused targeting Needed for this group strategy: Target Marking hotkeyed for speed. (Shield, bolt, saber, pistol etc) Group Target Frame enabled. (disabled by default - open ui editor, on each group target frame check the enabled box) It's common in PUG groups to see people all attacking their own targets, then watching the Tank frantically running around trying to regain aggro from all the enemies. At the same time the Healer is power starved because everyone is taking heaps of damage all at once. A lot of long time MMO players who have been in end game guilds know this approach all too well. So . .. .here goes. ==================================================== A group of enemies will be cleared more quickly/efficiently if: - All members are ATTACKING THE SAME TARGET in priority of weakest to strongest. Sometimes priority is given to a non-trash mob such as an enemy healer. -If Boss/Elite is present: Target Marked to signify it is to be left until last. Benefits of focused targeting: -If the only one attacking the enemies is the TANK, they should only attack him. If everyone is killing their own targets they ALL will have aggro. This will make the Healer's job easier as well because instead of everyone taking heaps of damage it will only be the TANK. -To do this before every pull the toughest mob (boss/elite etc) will be target marked and the weakest (OR priority eg: healer) will be target marked. Example: -Tank, Healer and 2 DPS are set to take down a group consisting of 1 gold, 1 silver (healer) and 3 trash. -Gold mob and silver(healer)are both both target marked. -Tank attacks all enemies trying to gain an aggro lead. -DPS waits for a couple of swats/shots then EVERYONE attacks target marked silver(healer) -once silver(healer) is down target marker is swapped to a trash mob. -EVERYONE acquires target marked trash mob until down. -the TANK will attempt to keep ALL aggro on him, priority given to gold then target marked mob. Not everyone may be a fan of target marking on the fly via hot keys. An alternative would be to have Party members's target frame enabled via UI editor and simply click on the nominated "MAIN-DPS's" target after each mob is downed. Try it out with a group! Try having everyone pick their own targets then try the "focused targeting" method and see how it compares. Personally I like to use swap target markers on the fly and have party's target frames showing. The more ppl attacking 1 target at a time means less incoming damage sooner for the healer to heal. Well that's my 2 cents anyway.*
  5. I am extremely proud of the 2 UI's I have just uploaded to http://www.swtorui.com. So proud I thought I would share them with everyone. I know not everybody will like them. But if some people do then great I hope they make your gaming a bit better. http://www.swtorui.com/downloads/info148-McFrikinBaddassHEALZ.html http://www.swtorui.com/downloads/info147-McFrikinBaddassDPS.html P.S I did notice once when I was in a 4 man group somehow my companion's health bar was moved. If this happens just open interface editor and hit the "Load Interface" icon and it will return to normal.
  6. I love this game. I have been at the top of the scoreboard many times on ALL of my toons so it's not a "fail" issue. The issue is I love almost all the classes and can't decide. I'm not looking for validation but son helpful friendly advice. Which I have received. A harsh reply like that was totally uncalled for What guild are you in? I'll remember the name and NOT join it! By the way thank you all for the replies. I have deleted all my toons except 2
  7. I love levelling! Since I love levelling so much maybe I should start over and make a well thought out Legacy/crafting family tree.......keeping my 2 favs of course. Commando and Juggernaut. Or was it Powertech and vigi guardian? Or was it Loremaster? I miss my Loremaster .....
  8. It is my $15.00 a month, and it's not a race to 50. Every time I get a toon to level 20-30 I get that familiar urge to re-roll What I love is broken. What I pwnface with anybody could. What makes me feel a huge sense of accomplishment isnt the masses favorite pick for that role. And I'm an alt-a-holic, trying to justify my insanity and hoping for a nudge out the door
  9. Alt-a-holic needs an intervention Playing since open beta, still no 50's. What I do have is a bunch of partially levelled toons (plus a few deleted) and cannot seem to stick to one.* Some are fun for different reasons. * 30 year Star wars fan/no brain big SMASH/Organized team based Gunnery Commando= giggity giggity BFG fun. FUBAR broken ATM* Pyrotech= Great story/"coolness" factor but so easy it's like cheating. No sense of accomplishment* Jedi Guardian (DPS)= great from a Star Wars fan perspective, but a little underpowered at times, boring at times.* Juggernaut= I'm eViL! *Great fun but not the FOTM tank ever so unless I get into a guild later and do ops... Sorcerer= kind of fun but one can only spam Force Lightening so many times. Only real purpose in the field is to annoy ppl. *Fun is only from LOTRO-Loremaster style play.* I have tried every class up to at least lvl 20 but just can't stop being an*Alt-a-holic! * I'm pretty good at all roles and I enjoy most of them but I just can't pick one and stick with it. * I suppose if I ever got into an organized Guild that knows how to run my character would have more meaning but..... Any wisdom/advice would be appreciated
  10. When you choose a class in this game is it because of a fluffy star wars fan reason for fun or just to be whatever the flavour of the month class is? Why do people sacrifice fun to be an elitist that can only feel validated if they are the be all and end all There is much to be enjoyed from this game, not just winning and losing. Posts like this one contribute more to subscription losses than actual gameplay faults. The negativity that it spreads is like poison to the people reading it. Then others will join the flavor of the month club because there is something Apparently wrong with their character. There needs to be a separate forum for griping because this cancer killing the population HAS TO STOP!!!
  11. I'm always guarding whoever is near me getting focused, switching and taunting when necessary. I'm always the one left alone to guard a turret in alderan. Still, even of I do keep ppl alive, reduce incoming damage or carry the Huttball an impossibly long way, all I do makes little difference in the outcome of the match. #1 Team coordination and placement #2 Burst damage #3 Healing #4 tank dmg mit & cc........ If the first 3 are not met, the fourth will do nothing for the team or the win. Conversely, if the first 3 are met, is the 4th even necessary?
  12. I wonder if any other Tank PvP-ers feel like their role may be unnecessary in Warzones. Other than guarding a Huttball carrier to gain a couple extra yards it doesn't feel like any amount of AoE snares or detaunts will have a huge impact on the match
  13. I love my Jugg and live the pvp. Up to my current level (29) I have only ran immortal in PvP Shield, detaunt, aoe slow etc. Team utility... It really feels at this stage that all my would-be "team efforts" make little difference in matches in the current state of the game. Sure I can help keep ppl alive, but I just melt under focus fire and my DPS is laughable. WOuld I be better off with a Vengence spec until level 41-42 when Rage becomes viable?
  14. Target marking keybinds: OP: "NOTE: Don't mark more than you have to, it just slows runs down unnecessarily. If you can get away with 1 mark per pull then do it. You can also keybind marking to speed things up. I use keybind mark "Lightning" for CC then keybind mark "Bulls-eye" for FF, make the pull then mark another Bulls-eye as the first is about to die. At the end I change the Lighning target to Bulls-eye right as the second last mob is about to die." I have looked the options and for the life of me cannot find the options to target marking keybinds. Can anyone confirm that this is possible? I hope it is or will be.
  15. If you just want to be accepted by your peers I'd roll a sniper/operative. They are the flavor of the month. Being ranged DPS favors them a bit more than melee ATM (until a couple small tweaks happen) and all you need to do to put out the numbers is place your head on the keyboard, then roll it from left to right, then win!
