  1. There's a lot of positives in this game. The first time levelling to endgame experience is the best in the MMO market right now (in my opinion) even if it is all incredibly linear. And they have made efforts to attempt to make the endgame more accessible through the addition of the group finder. But even with the amount of positives, there are just too many negatives which could be easily solved if they hadn't already made the mistakes they did at launch. I don't want to see the game die. I want it to be super successful and I do still enjoy it to some extent casually pvping at level 50 and levelling my alts up, but I will be dropping it if it isn't improved before one of the major contenders are released in the next few months.
  2. Don't get your hopes up. As much as I support the cause to get chat bubbles implemented, it won't be happening anytime soon. Like others have said there were problems with them in beta, and if they haven't fixed it yet they won't be devoting ever dwindling resources to something which is essentially a quality of life change for the majority of players. It's a shame, but I can't see it improving anytime soon.
  3. I fear your plea will just fall on deaf ears. The game is on its dying breath and it feels like they're running out of ideas, so no ideas means less things for them to excite their playerbase with. However in fairness, they're pretty much damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they did do 3-4 Q&As a week then they would get an insane amount of complaints about whatever it was they were discussing (it's just inevitable) and if they don't they people creating posts like this one, it just boils down to what is the lesser evil for them, and because doing what you asks costs resources they probably can't afford right now they're choosing to ignore us. Sucks really.
  4. I'm also sad about the state that the way this game seems to heading to, and it's such a shame because it had so much potential. Looks like EA is cleaning house and readying SWTOR for F2P now, which tbh I really don't want and even though I haven't been playing at all regularly recently, if that happens I WILL quit the game for good. I'm not looking forward to the next earnings call, it could be the final nail in the coffin for them. And its horribly timed for them too, with a potential contender for market share being released in just a little over a month. And when Mists of Pandaria comes out that could be it. I hope they really do something to be able to fix it but I have lost all confidence in Bioware now.
  5. As much as it can be annoying, there isn't really any other viable option. Perhaps if they hadn't opened up an insane number of servers in the first place this wouldn't be a problem now.
  6. We're just gonna have to wait til the next earnings call until we're gonna find out, but I'd be inclined to say that this game's population isn't going to increase anytime soon. Like others have said, best estimates put it at 53k concurrent users which for a AAA MMO is terrible. And let's be honest, it's not going to get any better. They released what was essentially still a beta, so the nearly 2 million people that bought the game at or close to launch will have had their judgement tainted by the experience of that, and most of the gaming news sites have been slating SWTOR for months so their PR machine has to be working overtime to try and keep a somewhat respectable number of people playing. There is some serious competition being launched in the MMO market in the next few months, with Guild Wars 2 and Mists of Pandaria being released, and to a lesser extent The Secret World which was just opened up (but that's still EA so it's not THAT bad). I know personally I will be dropping SWTOR when these games come out, and I'm not alone. I don't want to see SWTOR die, but I feel like it's kind of inevitable if they don't do something drastic. ( I made a video about what I feel SWTOR needs to survive, it's in my signature so feel free to check it out if you like)
  7. 1. Yes 2. Because having more variety of races is never a bad thing, as long as they intend to add more stuff in later on 3. Personally I'm sick of seeing just different coloured humanoids, I want to be able to play something radically different like a Jawa or a Droid. 4. Yes, but it's not a problem really, because of the legacy system we can play whatever anyway, I personally have a sith jedi inquisitor, that makes less sense than a cathar bounty hunter for example. 5. Like I said earlier, I'm getting kinda bored of seeing the same old humanoid skinned character, so whereas they wouldn't be my first choice by a long shot because of this, at least they're doing 'something' to try and improve it, they're less humanoid than most of the available races, with maybe the exception of the Twi'Leks. 6. They have a certain appeal to a specific demographic of people who enjoy playing characters with fur, lets leave it at that.
  8. Can't argue with those ideas, they're both pretty interesting, and stuff I would love (I think there's rumours of guild capital ships in 1.4 or 1.5, please correct me if I'm wrong) but I don't think they're game saving concepts. Add them in when the important game saving issues have been dealt with!
  9. I don't know if I'm just being an idiot and have overlooked something, but I 'think' I've had a good look through the interface editor and I can't find anything anywhere that turns off the little buttons on either side of quickbar 1. I'm just wondering if there's a way I can do this? It's kind of annoying in the way I've changed my UI to have a huge gap between my quickbar 1&2 because these redundant little buttons would overlap and make it look even worse. I know it's not a huge problem but I'm very particular about my UI, any help would be greatly appreciated
  10. This would be an awesome idea, have your character say something when a proc goes off would be so cool, although I might have to turn my music down/off to really pay attention to it.
  11. It does come down to how much you REALLY care about it. I play assault spec commando, so the only 2 skills I really see my colour crystal on are hammer shot and full auto. Granted I'm always at range and I can actually distinguish what colour it is, but I can sympathise somewhat. I'm just not overly interested in wielding a glowbat so it's the price I have to pay for playing the class I enjoy the most.
  12. I'm the guy who made the video (thanks to my friend for posting it even though I asked him not to hehe) I get what you mean here, but the only thing I would want them to straight copy from WoW (and I said this in the video) was the achievement system, purely because I think that's exactly how it should be done. I actually said at one point they were trying to make it too much like classic WoW Everything else I'd love for them to take the tried and tested concepts we have, and new ones, and add their own flavour to it. Bioware have got some innovative people working for them (even if alot of people don't want to admit it) so I have faith that they could create an amazing game. It kinda feels like they were rushed into making a rushed version of a WoW clone, and it is slowly but surely getting better but my opinion is stated in the video so I'll shut up now
  13. I wouldn't get rid of stealth altogether, but I like the way that GW2 are handling stealth, making it a cooldown with a limited duration, so similar to the sentinel/marauder skill. I like the fact that there are pure glass cannon classes that need an escape mechanic on a cooldown. I'd add in arena with spectator mode, or cross server queueing for warzones.
  14. Right now I'm making a ton of credits on my characters that can make the augmentation kits, selling them for 40-60k per depending on what the market is like at the time. And of course the time tested method of doing dailies is always a steady income if you have the patience to do it everyday. A few of my friends have nearly every legacy perk by only ever PvPing and doing dailies, so it's definitely viable.
  15. I'm not a hardcore RPer anymore, I used to be in other games, but I totally agree with you. More customisation is something I would love, mainly because I enjoy feeling somewhat unique. I was SOOOOO happy when they introduced the transmog feature in WoW and would love them to implement something like that here. I think RIFT had the best system, with 2 slots for gear. One for the stats and one for the appearance. This makes it convenient, and super easy to use.
