  1. Right. However, I was referring to the dilemma that there are some items you can only equip when you've gone far enough on the LS or DS scale respectively. So there's a definite 'benefit' for going full DS/LS as opposed to, say, going for pragmatic choices that may result in keeping your alignment more or less balanced (and your character in line with what you want their personality to be like). Good thing it's few enough to not be a bother anymore (I believe they stopped including items like this pretty early on, I may be wrong).
  2. Same. My main BHs and Smugglers ended up right in the middle and solidly grey. I don't even consciously pick LS or DS choices, I just go for the profit. I mean, why else did you become a BH or Smuggler in the first place? Couldn't care less about the fate of either side. I just wish there were more benefits for playing this way, because all in all you'll end up shoehorned into one direction or the other due to the unfortunate forced dichotomous nature of the setting.
  3. You can actually play the stories and make a ton of credits on the side as well, the two aren't mutually exclusive. You also do not have to spend hours studying the GTN situation on your respective server. Whenever it comes to picking crew skills with a newly created character, I go for gathering skills only. While journeying across the galaxy, I harvest every node I come across, and whenever I have the chance (or my inventory is full) I simply put the raw materials on the GTN at a reasonable price. This nets me millions of credits in a very short amount of time. Point in case: I have a level 35 scoundrel who started with 100k and now sits on 8m credits already. I know, you can probably make even more if you used the materials and started crafting stuff and selling that, but honestly, just selling the mats is much less of a hassle for me personally, and also I don't have to waste a crew skill slot for a crafting profession. I used to be a crafter, but selling mats ist more convenient for my play style. Also, don't unsub to play the stories, that's just painful
  4. Aww, this makes me a little bit sad. I think there's a codex entry in SWTOR if you're interested where the name is coming from. Other than that... I hear KotOR is still a great game to play Re: Darth Malgus. Despite being a player with primarily light-sided or neutral characters, I love the name. I don't see an issue really.
  5. Honestly, this is the first time in a very long time that I've had fun in the game again. I don't have a lot of opportunities to play anymore but when I do and my Command Rank is still not beyond the 30s I get frustrated pretty quickly. Yesterday, I decided to make some use of the recent bug (haven't had the chance the days prior) and man... it was exhilarating! I just love opening boxes, even if I get crap. I realize that the rate at which dailies give CXP at the moment may be a bit steep (although for me personally it's perfect, no reduction needed), but maybe there's a way to make this or something close to it the new normal.
  6. That's always my first solution... when a new patch takes longer than 20mins (shouldn't take any longer than that really, and when that time is reached it's a good indicator that something's not going right) I just restart the launcher and begin anew. Has always solved all my patching problems so far. Also... disable bitraider if you haven't already.
  7. So, I can only speak for myself regarding why I stopped selling pre 65 gear pieces (I used to have hundreds of those for sale up on the GTN, across dozens of toons), but here it is: They changed the loot. When you roam across earlier and mid-level planets with your level capped character, you'll get loot that is in accordance with your char's level, i.e. level 65 items for level 65 characters, etc. This used to be different, before level sync was a thing you'd get stuff that fit the planet's level, not necessarily your own. And this is pretty much the only reason. Additionally, selling the 60-65 items on the GTN is often not worth the GTN slot I have found, that's why I vendor that stuff as well. Again, this is only my personal, forced reason for the empty GTN when it comes to low level gear, but it seems plausible.
  8. Didn't they (i.e. one of the devs) outright state that the title is simply a representative amalgamation of the Empire and the Republic? It didn't make a lot of sense to me since said Knights weren't really of the Empire at all. But in the end it was just supposed to be a representation of both factions as one fallen entity. Now, if only I had a source for this...
  9. Oh gosh, so much this (although, Doc's a Knight comp ). Someone who doesn't want to be in a relationship does not necessarily have to be an ******e. Also the other things you said. My female smuggler has been holding a torch for Risha for so long... sigh.
  10. Since there are no Polish and Italian severs respectively, nothing would worsen with a server merger. I think the OP meant to specifically merge all French and German servers into only 1 for each language, and the same for the English speaking one. So instead of 9 partly empty servers, we'd end up with 3 big ones, and the French and German players can still keep to theirs. I'm German myself, I like to play on TRE though, since I like the language diversity.
  11. I'm a lurker first, mainly because I want to know what's new in-game (bugs, scandals, breakups) before I dive in myself. Whenever people ask certain questions in GenChat that are not easy or quick to answer, I refer them to the forums, but I doubt many actually take this advice. For some reason
  12. Why do they always have to go from one extreme to the other? Why can't changes be applied moderately? In this case, just nerfing the amount of credits a group can get with heroics, as has already been suggested many times, would have been logical. I'm just glad that heroics aren't my primary way of making credits, still have selling mats for that. But combining the farming with heroics was a nice way of doing both. Le Sigh.
  13. It's probably not the funniest line in game, but I just love it when Guss Tuno .
  14. This is exactly the opposite of what you want to do, but maybe someone's interested in how soon you may ding 65 when you do the side missions, including Heroics and Solo FPs you come across until that point: Republic Balmorra (so a point where you used to be around level 35). This is without a guild's XP bonus, but with the occasional complimentary XP boost you get throughout the story. No character perks unlocked either, no PVP. I didn't mind this so much to be honest. Casually playing through the entire story can make you a ton of credits without even trying, and it was honestly fun to revisit all of these missions again.
