  1. The wording of the email felt wrong to me as well. I will in the end will add one more month to get 1 month free just to try it out and see if 1.2 is really the game saver or just things that should have been here at release and its still missing things that should have been added after release to catch up. Quoting " You are one of our most active and valued high level players and we know you have been waiting patiently for Game Update 1.2: Legacy. To show our appreciation, check out all the great new features this update has to offer-on us. We will be adding an additional 30 days of game time to your account at no charge*. The free 30 days will appear on your account by April 24, 11:59PM CDT, April 25, 4:59AM GMT." Yet you go read the fine print "* 30 DAYS GAME TIME STARTS AT THE END OF YOUR CURRENT BILLING PERIOD." 30 days of game time to your account at no charge... other than the charge for one month of resubscribing because your sub ends a couple days before the "free month". I haven't been playing for three weeks because I wanted to wait till 1.2. I didn't get my money back for those three weeks. So when I read the first paragraph I thought cool, I'll give it a whirl and see as its free, then I see oh gosh I have to pay basically, and if it isn't "fixed" then I wont be playing anyway after a week or two so a free month is pointless as I had to pay to try it anyway. Yea $14.95 is like one dinner out and a drink. It still didn't sit right the way it was awarded. Bonus to all of you who love the game and think nothing is wrong though!
  2. I had the following thought process over the weekend. I had some time free up to play, the amount of time was 45 minutes to 2.5 hours. I thought I'd like to play an alt, however I ended up not doing so because to do that, I'd have to login my alt wait for it to load, run to my ship, wait for it to zone, run to my navigation console, wait for it to zone, run to the ship exit, wait for it to zone. Run through some empty "space taxi" area to a shuttle, wait for it to zone, run through a empty space port (where I can't use quick travel or a speeder, despite people driving speeders around the fleet all the time... ?) then hit quick travel or ride a speeder to a quest hub. WHY do I have to zone that many time through empty, boring, pointless areas to get to someplace to run quests? So instead I hit warzone queue, played 2 of those and then my playtime was cut short. Glad I didn't waist 20 minutes zoning through SWTOR's version of TSA. Why must I make the journey back to fleet to pick up PVP/Flashpoint dailies? I could just logout on a planet I wanted to be on to run quests or dailies and pvp or do that planet's flashpoints without the travel/time tax. Why do some major hubs on a planet have a bank and some don't? Why am I escorting a caravan of beasts carrying cargo when the shuttle I ride between point A and B is big enough to park a tank in?
  3. I'd like to see the ability to have two specs, heck maybe more. This was very great in Rift, and WOW. It really made getting groups together easier and reduced headaches like exist now. THis has happened a couple times already, sorry thought you were heal specced, we need heals. Sorry thought you were a tank... sorry thought you were DPS (yea that has happened too). Those of you saying it is bad... not sure how its bad, you can choose not to use it if it hurts your character.
  4. Its not the rest xp that is out leveling content. They have given you plenty of things to do, so its not as linear. You don't have to do every quest. You can, but you don't have to. In fact I'd venture to say there is room for you to actually role-play, that you don't want to do that quest because your character doesn't do menial tasks, or slaughter civilians or whatever. Enjoy that you don't have to worry that your going to get to 45 and run out of content and things to give you exp.
  5. At first I'd have agreed with the OP, however, my new plan is that my current character (36 Merc) will be plowing through his class quest ill its his level again, do whatever planet that is, then move on the same way to 50. My next toon will focus on the planet I didn't do with my main, then plow till its even and do the quests that are my level again. Repeat till I've seen all the story/class quests. I did not nor do I still expect much of an endgame from Bioware. They have always made great story games, and except for the acquisition of MMO developers through other MMO's have no experience doing so. I'd even question of the MMO's from Mythic and EA had decent endgames. I didn't think so when I played them (DAOC, WAR, Earth and Beyond).
  6. In general I agree with the OP. Without slicing I would not have the cash to keep my gear up to date to tackle missions that are level appropriate and train. Slicing was supposed to be the crew skill for players who don't want to be crafters and instead want to buy the items from crafters. It provides either missions for a loss, occasional crits for a schem or profit, or augments, which in general are worthless unless they are purple/blue. I consider myself a ex-hardcore, now more than casual gamer. I don't kill just to get credits (grind). I do missions, side missions, story quests, very occasional pvp, sometimes do the space missions. I save the commendations, although not sure why, I am usually over the level of the items by the time I have enough to be useful.
  7. I'd pay a little extra, for the ability to see my characters, and their crew skills and be able to send them on missions while offline from the game. Either via a webpage and/or a iphone/android application.
  8. Are the queue's artificial to help spread out the population? Or are these servers really full based on their understanding of their hardware/software? This is not answered in the post. I have friends on a server. I wont wait for 20 minutes for a queue to play a game I have 2-3 hours to play. This is not acceptable long term. If this is an artificial limit then I can tolerate it for a week or two while they distribute solo players around. It should also have been thought out better, in that if you have a toon there already it should allow you in, if you get disconnected it should let you back in within say 10 minutes of being disconnected. These things have been done in other MMO's, the idea exist's in production. It should be doable in this game's level of budget.
