  1. Queued up LFG last night, working on Socialite I for conquest, and Red Reaper popped. I loaded in just before the group leader and saw one groupie (a level 26) with just a sliver of health. I checked to see if anyone else had loaded. The group leader loaded, and apparently saw the same thing I did (the lowbie near death), and said "You don't run up the middle here by yourself" then the dude died. "Or that'll happen." The other person in the group (level 70) was over on the right side fighting and holding his own of course. We finished up the mobs and this guy (the lowbie) starts giving us hell for "letting him die." Well some lessons are best learned the hard way. Both the group leader and I both told him that it was his own fault for running into combat before everyone was even loaded. Yet he persisted on blaming us and just being a total jerk about it. So instead of putting up with his crap for the rest of the flashpoint, we kicked him from the group. A couple of minutes later the group leader tells me that that guy was spamming him in whispers, and calling him all kinds of derogatory names and hurling insults at him (stuff that would make DK chat seem like a church gathering). This goes on until we get to the bridge near the end of the FP (so a good 10-15 minutes) when the group leader finally decided to ignore the guy. Just have to love those people that blame others for their own shortcomings and mistakes. And the guy claimed to have been around since launch. If that were true, then he would've had more sense than to initiate combat, on a squishy lowbie, without his group there to help.
  2. That's a good 90% of the armors. The whole CM falls under the money hungry category though. Totally agree. Fugly doesn't even cover it.
  3. It is, but I believe you have to make the initial purchase and purchase the expansions. Also their F2P model, last I looked wasn't that great. It's been more than a few years, so it may have changed. I'll keep that in mind.
  4. Thanks. Yeah, I went with GW2. Started to do some grinding in GW, but decided it was too much trouble. Now I need to get to work on those mounts. I suppose we should let the thread get back to it's usual arguing, though. This sentimental stuff just doesn't seem to fit too well.
  5. Thanks. After I'm gone, you're one of the very few I'm going to miss around here.
  6. This crap about making a plan to play a specific character is just that. Crap. I have 42 characters. None of which I consider a main. If I want to conquest with just one or two, then those other 40 should be free to do anything in game without affecting the one(s) I happen to be conquesting with. If I feel like doing heroics, or dailies, or flashpoints, or whatever, I shouldn't have to pick and choose what character to do it with. That's entirely too much micro-management from a game designed for alts.
  7. Those that you say were positive were more "on the fence" responses which I would consider indifferent. Only one person actually said that they liked it (other than Olag who I know she didn't count - and if you're Olag too, then you double voted so that's a vote that doesn't anyway). Anyway, no matter how you look at it, out of the nearly 1000 views, if only 1 or even the 4 you claim like it, it still boils down to the same thing: failure.
  8. I think you misquoted. At least I hope you misquoted. Anyway, they admitted that the changes that made it difficult to do conquest with alts was done more harshly than what they intended, and that it's going to be fixed. And yeah, I don't know anyone who thinks the new system is fun, either. In that thread that PorsaLindahl started asking who liked the new system, there was only one person, out of the nearly 1000 views, that said they liked it. The rest was either indifference or random, off-topic, responses. I'd take that as a sign of failure.
  9. That's so hilariously untrue I had to laugh. There is no interpretation needed.
  10. I agree. I think the participation numbers are like I surmised earlier in the thread: That it's mostly incidental - players getting points for doing things regardless of whether it's for conquest or not. Those numbers would only be valid if those numbers of personal rewards have increased along with the numbers for participation. I was an active participant for a guild that I recently joined, and I always placed in the top 3 for points, and more times than not I placed first for points. That has changed drastically since 5.8. I haven't even bothered for 3 of the new conquests, and since my sub expires in a few days, that won't change going forward.
  11. It wasn't very hard to find. It was the FIRST post in this thread. Had you actually read that, you wouldn't have said: Which just shows, again, that you're not reading and just spouting randomness and hoping that some of what you say may be close to the mark, while most of it is out in left field.
  12. As much as I hate to agree with that person (although he's changed his tune on that part since he was proven wrong repeatedly. So I guess he's now agreeing with others), the very first post in this very thread states their goals for the changes. Edit: I stand corrected. It HAS been said and doesn't have to be deduced.
