  1. @OP 1: A lot of people (even Star Wars fans) aren't familiar enough with the setting to imagine a character in it. So they go with something they know. (Identification/relating to the toon they make - so playing it is more enjoyable/immersive). 2: Since a lot of people aren't familiar with the setting and whats going on, they don't want to be distracted by character image while they learn/get used to the setting/game/environment. They tend to keep similar to themselves or bland and shallow since they don't want to think about the character as much as about the setting/world. Thats only true for 1st toons and not for players playing the game to 'ROLEPLAY'. They are typically the exact opposite 1st time through. After the 1st toon, depending on what they like they may continue to do so (if the characters don't really interest them) or stretch out and explore different characters/perspectives.
  2. Don't suppose NOT having Crew Skill mission reward pop-ups close out all other interfaces other than dialog is in with 1.2 or sooner (hopefully)?

  4. Displayed Guild ranks? Clan Name/tag as surname? Intra-Guild LFG system? Ops scheduling system (Guild Calender mod from that other game)? {edit} Guild GTN?
  5. will Cybertech be able to craft Orange droid parts and crit (add augment slots)? or build droid replacements for undesirable companions (rakata mind prison ish personality chips to preserve story and what-not as well as maintain basic role - tank/dps/heals)?
  6. Legacy Renames? When? How? <my desired legacy / surname was blocked on all servers due to the system trying to prevent Stormtrooper names - Storm / Störm and I haven't been able to get special characters despite having non-english language versions> Furthermore, I've experienced D/C's while selecting legacy names and have had typos. I also understand that the name persists despite having deleted all characters from those servers and no longer playing on them. I don't even use the Legacy system because of it [legacy names always hidden] also this is a good point. Are Legacy unlocks only valuable/usable to new characters or will they benefits existing characters?
  7. I think the main issue's with this are LFG functionality including advanced user options like setting requirements on slot positions by the group/group leader. [EDIT] As well the OPTION of cross-server groups for those that play during low population times on their server (ex. my main server drops to about 30-50 Imperial side around 3 am CST every night). The OPTION part being there b/c Ops/FP groups are really the only sense of community that a server has right now and wouldn't want to destroy what little there is.. As well as small variation of FP's (map layout, boss locations/type, multiple paths [ie. running battle areas or puzzle/maze areas to reach same point]) to make them more enjoyable instead of memorisable. Not to mention new ones or fixes/changes to existing. A large number of buges present with a number of the more complex bosses that glitch. (the cloning on D7 boss, immortality on some other stuff due to bugs, etc.)
  8. I wouldn't discount the possibility of Hacks doing it but...I've had this happen to a number of toons. Its the Netcode. I'm constantly finding myself stuck in Cover when I shouldn't be and quite simply don't want to be or stuck in a jump animation or w/e. Lousy Netcode, thats really all I've been seeing. Basically sometimes the Client or Server fails to update a state and doesn't fix it til you relog, or find some way to fix it. Reloading the UI via Control +UU doesn't work so it can't just be client side. Sometimes your client might be operating fine but your server state isn't synced. You see whats normal and should be like but everyone else is viewing you in one of these anomalous states.
  9. Not a bug. next Mako mission is level 40. I don't recall where the trigger is for the next mission. Thats normal with that story line.
  10. Armoring and Mods for all alts plus: Space Equipment & Earpieces with Augment slots for any class. Its useful to any class. As opposed to specialised to a few classes (Artifice, Synthweaving, Armormech, Armstech).
  11. I'm pretty sure its not, I've seen mission rewards that are offhand only Blaster pistols on my BH (mainly I see it on my merc but I may have seen it on my Powertech as well - some of the Heroics give customisable offhand pistols - sorry I don't recall exactly which ones but I think it was on Nar Shadda or Balmorra heroics). Seems a bit stupid to me but there usually is a non-offhand version of them available in most cases that I've seen. I've just got into the habit of checking for it when I look at weapon stats (I've only seen it with blaster pistols - wonder if it happens with Lightsabers too though [marauder/sentinel]). [edit: Ie. the offhand weapons are AC specific like shields and other offhand items. In the case of blaster pistols its exclusive to Dual Wielders {BH Merc and Gunslingers} since , with BH Mercs at least, the offhand pistol only contributes 20% damage and is mostly a stat booster. So the offhand versions might be boosted in stats more than main hand versions to restrict/balance the power of the item.]
  12. This. This a Known EXPLOIT of the flagging system thats almost as old as PvP/PvE flagging system that is used by Players for the sole purpose of griefing other players. The only people defending it are players that abuse the system or think everyone should be forced to play a PvP game (don't ask me why? I mean heck, they must think the world revolves around them or something). Given all the Phasing/Instancing & Technology thats been developed you'd think a game that cost 100 million to develop would have something like working correctly when underbudgeted Indie games can.
  13. Because they CAN'T control that. I'm sure they are aware of it - they do have numbers/statistics of all characters/servers etc. But there isn't anything for them to do. Community/Players dictate what they play and where. If you got an idea on what they are supposed to do about it, DO TELL. because there is little reason for them to do or say anything about it otherwise. Do you expect them to lock players out of their characters because there aren't enough opposing faction players playing? Do you expect them to Nerf one faction to compensate for the imbalance? And what that does do for players that don't CARE about the opposing faction because they are doing PVE and have nothing to do with factional PvP?
  14. Meh, a lot of people consider it a dirty tactic but honestly half of Huttball isn't damage its CC/KB/Snares. Grapple is great for 'Tackling' the ball carrier or anyone else and/or just getting them out of the picture for a time. Jet Boost is great for the same [defensively protecting the ball carrier or just breaking up a cluster on a walkway] as is the Jedi/Sith equivalent (sniper only good for defense unless they camp a choke point). People will complain about it because they equate success=stats not winning/losing or teamwork. If PvP could be determined statistically what would be the point of the players? Window dressing?
