  1. For those with problems with the customer service problems, i have a new suggestion for you. I too have problems with the lack of Customer Service. The lack of BioWare giving a crap about those of us who have issues with the game. Whatever those issues are. Hit them where it hurts. Not in the pocketbook, although i suggest that too, but on PR. There is a great thing called Facebook. SWTOR has a page there. Go there. Post it there. Let the 900+ million people hear your voices. Bad press is not what BioWare or EA wants. The problem with the forums is you are only going to get the people who have problems, and the people who tell you to suck it up. Social Media is the best way to get your voice heard. Use it! I have.
  2. I enjoy the PvP in SWTOR. It's a lot of fun, win or lose. But there are issues, which have popped up all over the forums. Bugs and Glitches are rampant. I've experienced ones that some people haven't, i've heard of ones that i haven't seen. This is starting to become beyond frustrating for myself, my friends that i queue with, and i'm sure for many other people. Nothing is worse than wasting 13 minutes trying to win, and succeeding, at a WZ, only to get booted by the stupid deserter debuff because : The speeder bikes don't spawn, the shield doesn't go down, your character is stuck lying on the ground, etc. The WZ's themselves. The need to hit spacebar just to get past the loading screen in Voidstar. Why? It's the only one that has that. Sometimes i get up to get a drink, or get kid something when i hit the button to enter the warzone. I come back, and the load screen is still up. S**T! How long has that been there? Hit spacebar... AND! Boom, speeder bike ride. 15s left before the start of the game. I will miss the first door, and i hope i'm the only one that is riding a speeder. Huttball. The reason i switched from Imp to Rep. Honestly, not an entirely horrible WZ, i just hated doing it all the time. But i have now noticed a few things that doesn't seem right. Ball Carrier, in our pit, about 2m from the wall nearest our goal line. My friend dies, runs from the start area, and the Warrior jumps to him to score. I thought LoS had something in this game, but apparently not. Cost us the match, as that was the point that tied them with us. Absolutely ridiculous. But, i think that's the only serious problem i've seen with huttball. Does it seem to favour a few classes? Sure, but it's actually a pretty good WZ. Alderaan Civil War. Besides the wall hack at the side turrets, I've only run into a few problems consistently. I die, i spawn on our ship and... no speeder bikes. They might spawn, they might not. and if they do spawn, i might ride them down, or i might stand there admiring their beauty. Most of the time, i get booted. I think the biggest issue for this WZ, is the side speeders. It takes a lot of of team coordination to take these. Move the speeders and extra 15m back, maybe 20m back from where they land now. Doesn't completely gimp the ability to defend, just makes it less difficult to take when you wipe every defender there. AFK'ers and Leavers. I'm pretty much done arguing my side of things on this. That's up to bioware at this point. If they want people to leave without penalty, they will. If they don't, they'll do something about it. There are far too many threads arguing for and against, without actually providing any real solutions. Medals. The real problem with warzones. why does someone who runs around and just tries to get his medal count up, without contributing to the actual objective, get more medals than a guy who defends the door, or the turret? Sure, he's more active, and did 300k damage, but did he really help? maybe. He might have killed a couple guys, so they didn't get to even attempt to cap. But most of the time, medal farmers are a hindrance. Make the Medals objective based, as in the objective of the WZ. Or get rid of them. It makes no sense to reward somebody for not helping to win. Dailies/Weeklies- Currently at "Win x# of warzones", which for some is a monumental task. I don't think they should change it to "Complete x# of warzones". This doesn't give enough incentive to actively participate in the warzone. It should Objective based, somehow. I don't have a good idea of how they could implement a better system, but i think everybody is in agreement that it needs to change. Just some of my thoughts. I would like to hear your thoughts, provided they are constructive. Please, nothing like "QQ" or "Nope, you're wrong". This does nothing for the conversation, except prove you're an idiot. Please, feel free to disagree with my ideas, but maybe give examples or your own thoughts.
  3. Enjoy your arguments while you can. Defend your class all you want. Tell me i'm wrong without actually giving me an example. I understand you feel your class is "balanced" because you can beat almost everybody. Rename the Sorc/Sages to Batman. Then rename all the other classes to Joker/Riddler/Tow-face/Penguin etc... Batman wins not because he is smarter, or better. He wins because the writers make him win. They give him more tools in that great Utility Belt of his. You can do damage without your Spammable spell. Just because the spell is down, your burst isn't as high. Doesn't mean you can't do damage. Is there a problem with my class? Meh, not so sure about that. I think the GS/Sniper is a very balanced class that does well when you understand how to play. Could it use tweaks? Sure, every class can. I'm not calling for an entire nerf to the class. They need to be toned down to be more in line with other classes. Can you beat a sorc/sage? Sure. Are the odds tilted in favour of the sorc? yes. Deny it all you want, doesn't make you right. Enjoy whining about your class when they do bring it in line with other classes. FOTM, and right now they taste good.
  4. Ok, i stopped reading the thread around page 4. I laughed my *** off when i read the OP. Not sure if you really understand all of the mechanics that your class has. I too have a Sorc, i played a BH, and then i switched sides to play a GS. I can interrupt 1... 1 of your many spells. It doesn't matter if i interrupt your heal, your damage, or whatever. It locks out the 1 spell. Leaving you with many many other tools to ensure that, while that 1 spell is down, you are still doing damage, mitigating damage, or healing damage. It doesn't matter if that heal isn't going to outpace the damage. Because once the interrupt is over, back you to go to nuking somebody's face off. LoS'ing a sorc/sage doesn't do much. You'll have dots on you (assuming they know how to play their class), so you're taking damage from that. Interrupt their "main" damage attack, like you said, and try to nuke them with your own cast/channeled spell, and they will simply interrupt you. The shield prevents enough damage at the start to give the Sorc/Sage and edge in basic energy/heat/force leves, because it will soak up most non-crit attacks. And if you do manage to get the jump on a sorc, beat him down to a point where he think they might lose, they will just force sprint away around a corner, and heal themselves up. The problem with the Sorc/Sage is that their Utility allows them to dictate pretty much every aspect of the fight. As people have said, though you'll simply discount me like you have the rest of the people who've said it, Sorcs/Sages have too many Utility spells to help control the fight. Are they lower on DPS than some classes? Yes. But that isn't what gives the sorcs/sages the upperhand. It's the ability to dictate every aspect of the fight. Stop trying to be so narrow-minded because you're playing a class that you're ROFLstomping people with. You argue that a single interrupt will change the entire scope of the fight, which simply isn't the case. Interrupting 1 spell, regardless of what spell it is, will not gimp the Sorc/Sage in any way. They will simply use another tool in their Utility Belt to ensure they remain with the Upper-hand. L2P is not the answer. I have played many MMO's, and many other types of Video Games. I understand the mechanics as well, if not better, than most. The problem that you, and i suspect most others playing your class, is that you are happy being "better" than most players. Go roll another class (yes, you have a commando, blah blah blah), stay on that class for a while. And when you get your face stomped all over by the over-populated Sorc/Sages, maybe you'll start to understand. But for now, because you are happy that your class is at the pinnacle right now, you will discount everything i said. You will throw out the L2P, L2Interrupt argument time and time again, without truly reading anything i or anybody else will try to tell you. It's become more and more apparent that you are not here to listen, you are here to TELL people. We can't argue our points, because you won't listen. You simply believe you are correct without understanding why you are not.
  5. I recently switched from a BH and a Sorc over to the Rep side to play as a GS. And i love it. Yes, the mobility isn't quite up to par with some other classes, but they are probably the best defenders in the game. Positioning is key, not mobility. And we have some great escape mechanics that can allow us to burst down opponents while they recover. it was stated earlier that 1v1, they aren't so good, which i can see. haven't had that opportunity to test it out yet though, cause WZ's rarely allow for that to happen. I think the reason most people don't play them though, is it requires some serious skill and pre-planning to be an effective class. Most players would rather play the toons with a more basic (please not the MORE part) playstyle.
  6. Isn't there up to valor rank 100? without gear associated with it yet? They still need to collect valor to get there. And make it account-wide, not per toon. That way their Alts will be punished as well. I'm not saying it's a perfect idea, i'm just trying to come up with something new. Perhaps you ahve something to add to this discussion? Or are you here to reject any idea you don't like?
  7. Ok, so the moderators closed my other thread that pertains to this topic. The reason i made a new thread is cause this one is 19 pages long, and full of people who just want to argue. But since i'm being forced to post here, i will. Leavers have their reasons for leaving. They feel justified in that. The people who don't leave dislike that they leave without a penalty, they feel justified in that. I am part of the latter. An MMO is not supposed to be a game that doesn't take up time. You are supposed to put the time and effort in, and by leaving (for whatever reason you feel you should), you are not putting in the effort. That's just my opinion. A deserter debuff is a dumb idea. Plain and simple. Can we all agree on that? If not, well, that's not what this thread is supposed to be about. I will propose a solution i think would work, that basically doesn't punish the leavers. it rewards those who stay. The most common reason i have read for people leaving is that they dont' have time to sit in fail WZ's. Fair enough for them. I personally believe if you don't have time to put in, don't do it. It's not like you don't know there is a time requirement for MMO's. So, by putting a Deserter debuff, you are essentially pushing those players away, because they cannot queue again. They pay their 15$ a month, and they deserve to play. They just don't deserve to be rewarded the same as people who put the time and effort into every (or almost every) warzone they queue up for. My Solution: DNF %. Did not finish. If you do not finish, say, 50% of your games, you get 50% of the valor and commendations. That way you can leave your "fail" wz, queue up for another one, and maybe get your win. But you don't get all of your rewards, you just get to finish your dailies/weekly. For those of us who have had problems with bugs/glitches, dont' start diminishing rewards until somebody has a DNF % of, say, 25%. These numbers are not concrete, just being used as an example for the idea. This solution solves 2 things. People who dont' leave don't feel like they are being punished. They are being rewarded with higher valor/commendations than the chronic leavers. That should alleviate at least a bit of the QQ. Secondly, it punishes the people who leave by requiring them to do more warzones to reach their goal of BM, without disallowing them to play the game they pay for. As a note, before you all start flaming me as a QQ'er, or whatever, this is an idea. Don't want to have to play more warzones than everybody else? stay and play the warzone out, like everybody else. It's called balance, soemthing that everybody *****es about in MMO's.
  8. Please see my post entitled Ideas for WZ Leavers. It does not prevent you from re-queueing if you leave, yet it does punish you as you should be. and it certainly is better than adding +1 win needed for the daily/weekly.
  9. Jimdor

    Idea for WZ leavers.

So, you don't want to play with new 50's? Join as a premade. Gear requirements, in non-ranked pvp, is ridiculous. how are new 50's supposed to get gear then?

    Idea for WZ leavers.

Seriously? people would rather post in giant threads that have devolved into arguements, rather than post constructive criticism in a post that proposes an actual solution? Yes, i am bumping this on purpose. We have forum posts that don't help the game, they just divide the community. I'm trying to come up with something that doesn't force people not to be able to play (such as a deserter debuff), while allowing for some of the bugs/glitches that are prevalent in this game. Nobody actually has any ideas on this?
  11. Jimdor

    Idea for WZ leavers.

I didn't post in all the other threads about this because this is an idea i have yet to read. All of the other threads turn into a hate-fest of "You suck for leaving" and "QQ more" (thanks for posting that in here) New threads are supposed to be for new ideas. I was hoping for some constructive criticism for what i felt was a viable solution to a problem that is PLAGUING the game. I thought maybe, just maybe, people would read the idea, and give more thought than "QQ MOAR". Perhaps people don't want to read more threads regarding the same thing. So i gave a different idea, a viable solution to a problem that is rampant throughout the game. Is a deserter debuff any better? Hell no. It punishes everybody, including those with bugs/glitches. Why is it that MMO communities are full of hate for people who propose solutions? Most people come on the boards to complain, which i wasn't doing. If you want, i can write a QQ thread, but i don't feel that gets anybody anywhere. People read without reading. They see what they want to see. I was hoping to get some constructive criticism, or expanded ideas. That is, after all, the idea behind forums isn't it? To voice yourself? IF the only responses i get are QQ, or Post in another thread dont' make a new one, then they should just shut the forums down. If you can contribute to the idea, why even be on here? Oh yes... it's called trolling.
  12. The forums are full of posts about what to do about people who leave warzones. Is it incredibly annoying? Yes. Do these people feel they deserve to be assured victory within 2 minutes? Seems that way. Do these people have a valid point about the amount of time they have to invest, which is limited to them? No. Your RL has nothing to do with an MMO. Don't have time to put in? Don't expect to get your dailies/weekly's done. Leave the warzone. Tarnish your name and reputation. Get your BM gear, and do nothing with it. You'll never be competitive in PvP, because nobody will like you. That's your choice. I for one do not want to play with you. If i was a healer, and you are a known leaver, don't expect heals. If i saw you getting beat on by an opponent, i'm gonna run by without wasting my CC on him. So, how do we fix some of these problems? I think the first answer is, Fix the wins not working. That seems to be a major problem, though i've only encountered it once. Will this stop people from leaving? No, because they feel they deserve to win everytime. I propose a solution. DNF statistic. For those of you who don't know what DNF is, it stand for DID NOT FINISH. If you leave a warzone, your DNF % goes up. the more your DNF goes up, the less rewards you get for finishing. Sure, you can get your daily done, if you leave 50% of your warzones. But your commendations and Valor take a huge hit. Good for you! You got your Daily/weekly done! Feel better? Probably not, because now the complaint isn't about the daily/weekly, it's about your diminished rewards. Which is too bad, cause you diminish the chance your team has to win everytime you leave. And for those of us who experience glitches/bugs which cause us to not finish, the % is still probably very low. make it so that if you have a DNF % of say 0-10%, you get full rewards. After the 10%, they start going down.
  13. These topics have been covered. Please do a search of the forums before posting a new post on the same stuff.
  14. My computer is all up to date, running smoothly. Not the best computer for games, but it works just fine for most new games. I don't know what the problem is. Certainly not my ISP. I pay good money for high speed, recently switched companies too. And this new one is probably twice as fast as my old one, and i never had problems playing online games. The issue goes beyond people's computers. You can't put a game out that doesn't play for someone who meets and exceeds minimum specs. it's up to Bioware to fix the problem, as i've done everything i can to ensure my computer is as optimized as it can be, without buying a new one.
