  1. I have healed this fight with melee dps on rep side ((not that it matters what side it is - ***?). It is harder than with ranged but far from impossible. You just need a couple of attempts to figure out the movement/positioning. The reason it's harder is because the tank has to keep moving out of range/out of interrupt range/LoS the droid to keep him moving in a timely manner around the room. THerefore 1) Melee dps needs todo most of the interupting instead of the tank (not a problem) 2) You need to be a little more careful not to pull aggro. The trick is to keep moving fast enough that you never actually get trapped between lighting orb behind you and the risk of incinerate armour in front.

  3. I agree that the fight is quite tricky with melee. But with 3 ranged executing the mechanics properly there should be hardly any damage or chaos in this fight. Please watch the following video of what I consider a pretty clean ranged kill of LR5 and bear in mind all 3 of the points you've made above while watching it are totally wrong!
  4. We started using this last night and it works really nicely. Only feedback I'd have right now is can you make it ignore healing from CC's.
  5. I was skeptical of the changes. However I've played approx 20-25 warzones now since 1.2 and have to say I'm still very very viable/competative and it's all still great fun. Average 10-13 medals per WZ. Can still hit 700k healing in voidstar. Run out of ammo now occasionally but usually because I'm making mistakes rather than because there's too much to heal. I would tend to queue less solo probably now though, as I feel like I rely a little bit more on my teammates now than pre-1.2.
  6. I have done this several times on Nightmare (although difficulty matters little, the damage from falling phase is the same). It's just a case of using all instants on cooldown constantly while moving (including hammer shot in the middle) and using supercharged gas at the bottom to spam heal everyone up. The first boss is way way more AoE healing intensive than SOA depending on your strategy, that's where we've struggled with 2xCommando before.
  7. Only read the first 7 pages and got bored so I apologise if someone already pointed this out but... Anyone making any argument in this thread who isn't referring to particular classes doesn't know what they are talking about or is just talking about their own class and trying to apply what they've found to everyone. The benefit of rakata vs BM is different depending on your class and I think swings very slightly one way or another depending on it.
  8. LOL Next time I'm down the pub with my mates, playing pool, bowling, whatever - we'll all stay silent and just look at each other and pass notes. Wow that would be fun. Don't complain about people being social in a social activity (why else would you play an MMO over a single player RPG?)!
  9. Considering they've been having trouble fixing detecting wins for the quest completition I'd really hate to see what would happen if they tried to detect wins with X medals to the quest completion logic.
  10. Are you playing the same game as me? Tionese is garbage and it's faster and easier to get full Columi than Tionese. Columi is also not very much worse than Rakata. I guarantee you EV normal is 4manable in just full Columi - which is also what drops in.......... EV normal! Comparing Columi to Rakata is NOTHING like comparing T1 to T3 gear in vanilla wow.
  11. Really not veryrelevant at all. 1) This was well over a year after Onyxia was released, and 3 raiding tiers on. Not 2 months after EV is released using basically same-tier gear (this looked easy enough that it would also be possible in full Columi not just full Rakata). 2) Onyxia had no enrage, plus healers at this time were using downranking tricks + naxx gear to heal forever (not intended by bliz, they nerfed it just before TBC (or was it at start of TBC?).
  12. If this is true you can always try and be first to enter your warzone by clicking the queue faster when it pops in order to reduce the chance that your quest might not count.
  13. I have a codex achievment entry for SOA HM. My journey to belsavis quest has never completed though despite various 8/16/Normal/HM kills.
  14. Nightmare mode should be harder, and drop various mods and enhancements one level above the default rakata stuff, designed to tune your existing rakata pieces that you get from hardmodes. They should be itemised as such to allow min-maxers to experiment with stacking or balancing various secondary stats in different ways. Currently if you want todo this you have to get rakata or columi tokens for certain pieces in your or someone else's set that have the secondary stats you want and remove them, without wanting the rest of it. Tionese should also probably be buffed slightly so it's not completely worthless and champion gear should be nerfed slightly (or have more stat allocation used for expertise) so it's not hands down better than Tionese for PVE. Slightly less loot should drop from 8 mans and a bit more should drop from 16. Last night a fresh 50 in our guild went to EV8 normal for the first time and in 1 hour clear time got 3 of the main Columi set pieces. If he's also moderatly lucky now in Karaggas this week he can then pretty much go straight to hardmode/nightmare mode and never bother farming anything below that. He hasn't even done a HM flashpoint or really ever need to from a loot perspective.
  15. If you got 'Violent Uprising' via share you will need to reset it (in mission log) and then redo the last step on Gav. This is because the last step moves the quest along AND gives you the actual D7 flashpoint quest at the same time.
