  1. HK-51 is in severe need of repair. I adore the droid but he under-performs when compared to other companions. His DPS, tanking, and healing come in weaker than other companions and these days he's only good to bring out on the fleet as a bit of eye candy. I think HK-51 needs a revamp and the return of his Assassinate ability. Perhaps even change his sniper rifle out for a pair of pistols so that he can put out DPS in comparison with companions like Nico Okar and Veroa Denz. Basically, a rework that would make him a great DPS companion again and that would entice players to go through the entire HK-51 questline again. Furthermore, I think his Legacy unlock ought to be account-wide, like Treek. Especially snce he performs so poorly these days. Sadly, he's not worth the CC to unlock on a per character basis. I used to like activating him on new characters and cake-walking the starter planets. I don't bother any more. Lastly, to additionally make HK desirable again, he needs more customizations (which players have requested for years). ...an all-black HK skin, an orange and white Republic paint job, red and black for Imperials, etc. And the customizations should be available to any player, regardless of faction. When HK-51 was first announced players went absolutely nuts for him. Throngs of players from both factions could be found on the various quest planets scanning for parts. And for those who finished the questline, HK was (perhaps) the most popular companion of his time. He was the model of assassination efficiency and was a lot of fun to run around with. I would love to see HK return to his former glory.
  2. My understanding (based on something I read previously) is that the hodgepodge Hero Englne used to run SWTOR simply can't handle a 64 bit client. The engine was pretty lousy to begin with and it's only gotten harder to maintain and work with as the game has grown and been modified. To give SWTOR a proper 64-bit client would involve porting the game to an entirely new engine and then developing a 64-bit client. The cost in both time and resources to do so would be huge. And that sort of expense would never get approved by EA. SWTOR is running on something of a skeleton crew now (it's revenue used to fund other EA projects). I suspect that SWTOR is on a sort of life support. And that once it's generated revenue drops below a certain pre-determined amount, the servers will be shut down permanently. I think that EA has no interest in growing and improving SWTOR. If they did, SWTOR's resources wouldn't have been cut to the point they are now. And so while I would love to see SWTOR revitalized with a new engine and 64-bit client, I don't see it happening now that the game is nearly a decade old.
  3. People have been asking for HK-51 skins for years... an all-black skin, an Imperial black and red skin, a Republic white and yellow skin (not the existing Republic droid skin but a proper HK in white and yellow), a battle-damaged HK skin, the glossy blue-gray HK-50 skin, the HK-24 red skin, the classic HK-47 rust red skin, and an HK skin that can take dyes for custom color combinations.
  4. I miss the old HK-51, when he was an effective companion with unique abilities. And he needs more customizations.
  5. As an Aussie (Western Australia), it's getting really hard to play... invisible walls are a daily thing now. I was on Begeren Colony for years. I never tried an Oceanic server because I figured that it would be the first server to go. I incorrectly thought that a US West Coast server would last for the life of the game. The latest server merge has really impacted my gameplay experience. This is the first time I've ever given thought to unsubbing.
  6. I miss these two companions, particularly HK-51. Their abilities reflected the fact that they were special companions and once those abilities were gutted there was almost no reason to use them anymore. I wish that their abilities were restored to how they used to be. As has been noted, these companions were special and they should be just a bit better than all of the other companions in game.
  7. Gifts are the way to increase HK-51's influence. He loves military gear. HK-51 was the first companion that I reached 50 influence with.
  8. It's not about the struggle. It's about bolstering the Legacy aspect of HK-51. And the droid is an investment, no matter how easy, difficult, or the currency used to obtain it. With the removal of HK's unique abilities there's little to no incentive to obtain the droid. Making him a Legacy-wide unlock would make him more appealing to players.
  9. Not that I've noticed. I don't recall Veeroa saying anything without me clicking on her. She's working well for me primarily because she's a melee companion, which lets my Merc stay back and work. Since she doesn't speak Basic anyway, I'd probably get annoyed if she talked a lot during combat. I'd have to look at the chat to read what she said.
  10. Veeroa was worth the effort. She's a great compliment to my Merc. I ran the Star Fortress H2 with HK-51 at level 50 influence and the four Alliance Specialists at rank 20. That made things significantly easier.
  11. Veeroa Denz is an obtainable nautolan companion so I imagine that a lot of the animation required for playing is already in place. And we've seen a number of nautolan NPCs. What we don't have are the cutsceen animations for them as playable characters. I am all for this idea, of course.
  12. For those two companions? Yes. Players pay for those companions. Something they don't do for the rest of the game's companions. That distinction is the point. If EA wants to keep players pumping cartel coins into obtaining those two companions (who are now no different from the rest of the game's companions) then a Legacy-wide influence for the two of them would be a good incentive to do so.
  13. Since HK-51 is a Legacy companion (like Treek) I'm completely in favor of making his unlock Legacy-wide instead of being on a character-by-character basis. Now that he no longer has his Assassinate ability he isn't something special that justifies the per-character expense to unlock him. Additionally, I'm in favor of having both HK-51 and Treek's influence be Legacy-wide as well. They are Legacy companions, after all. And while they're no different from other companions (ability-wise) the fact that they're obtainable with cartel coins gives them a slight distinction.
