  1. That's what happens when you remove consequence from the game. Back in Alpha, they did have consequences to your actions in the game but so many snowflake players QQ'ed about it they pretty much removed it all. The whole Lana and Kira thing is just the latest example of what happens when you cater to the crybabies. Yes I know, you kill off your healing companion and you're screwed, right? Wrong, all Bioware had to do was make your onboard droid who never leaves you able to Tank, DPS or Heal, problem solved, but people would make certain choices and then regret it and want their companions back so Bioware removed all consequences from the game.
  2. I've never been a fan of RNG. But at the same time I'm not a fan of making everything so easy that you can gear up in a few weeks. Gearing should be earned by doing operations... I wish they would add 4 man operations, same challenge as 8 man operations but only require half the people to do them as it's really hard to find people to do operations with anymore. Do NIM operations and your guaranteed the highest level gear drops Do MM Operations and your guaranteed medium level gear drops with a small chance of highest level gear dropping Do SM Operations and your guaranteed lower level gear drops but a small chance of medium gear drops and a super small chance of the highest level gear dropping. I would prefer this to just opening boxes.
  3. I didn't read all the responses but there is a Story Mode option to Flash Points that allow you to play through them solo so you can watch the story without anyone bugging you to hurry up.
  4. This game offers very little in the way of tools for player content. SWG with all it's issues did a great job of giving players tools to create content, unfortunately most players knew very little about it because of the lack of tutorials and instructions... SWG defiantly had a steep learning curve. PvP warzones is hardly player content and any kind of serious world pvp is extremely hampered by the game engine Bioware chose to use. If you get anymore then 24 players fighting in the same area the engine begins to choke, that's why they removed Fortress vs Fortress pvp on Illum shortly after the game released. IMO, an ideal MMO is having the story driven content of SWTOR at the center with open world sandbox (player content) surrounding it. But Bioware was set on doing their story telling within a WOW style MMO. Which means after a year or two the game becomes really boring unless new content is added at a fast pace. I
  5. The problem with this style of MMO is the developers expect you to be entertained by doing the same static content over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over... well you get the point...
  6. When you strip Mako of her clothes she no longer has the standard underwear, she has a full on brown suit on, the problem is if you use covert wrists or belts the default brown suit shows up, so there is no way to have her not wear bracers or belts... I never noticed this until she rejoined me in the story line (when you have to go to Tatooine to recruit her) I hope this is a bug.
  7. Dot classes seem to be tearing up the parses right now leaving behind all the non-dot spec's unless your dot spec nobody wants you in their HM/NIM raids.... Is Bioware ever plan on balancing this? or do we all have to play dot spec's..
  8. The last two days I've decided to grin and bear it , so I started playing GSF to try and get my 3 wins, hoping I got on a good team, after several matches I found myself finally getting the hang of combat, after upgrading my equipment on the ship it became even easier... now I'm kind of enjoying GSF where before I hated it with a passion.... I think they need to put in some tutorial where you can fight against PvE opponents so you can get the hang of flying and what not..
  9. I've been a sub since the game came out, even though I've taken several months off here and there I always kept my sub active except for a few months where I didn't think I was going to play again but ended up coming back... anyways as a long time subscriber I have no issues with making the HK-55 story as a premium price item on the Cartel Market, it can help bring in money so the Dev's can keep producing content... Subscribers had an exclusive on it for a few years that should be good enough IMO...
  10. This Game is to old for EA to invest in an engine change. I don't imagine this game will last more then a few more years before they shut it down. As for Anthem, Mass Effect Andromeda looked awesome at E3 at the time also but ended up being a rather bad game. EA likes to make their games look all shiny looking in order to get high initial sales but their games hardly ever come through on any game depth and usually has tons of bugs... I don't have much hope for Anthem, hopefully I'm wrong but I doubt it.
  11. Bioware has basically made playing melee fairly easy... Melee are suppose to have huge burst damage but the trick is they have to get in close range to use it, but like the OP said, they have all these gap closers and they can spec to run like Speedy Gonzales to instantly close the gap. The point of giving range cast abilities is to give melee a chance to get in close but again with all the gap closers and speed boosts melee have the huge advantage of closing the gap instantly and with their instant attacks just tear up any range player in seconds... It's extremely tough to keep any distance between yourself and a melee player. Didn't used to be this way back when the game came out... Either remove some of the gap closers/speed boosts or add some casting times to their attacks. I won't even mention all the stuns/slow downs skills melee have also... The only class that has a decent ability against melee is the sniper engineer but even that was nerfed because melee were QQ'ing that it made them slow and they took damage at the same time.
  12. Personally I only do rank to get the mats but I always play to win. That said, I do sometimes get teammates that don't do anything so the match ends faster.. that does get a bit annoying... The problem isn't so much the mats, it's that there really is no reward system in this game anymore, Bioware has kept any decent rewards to their cartel market. They want people to buy them instead of earn them in PvP or PvE content...
  13. If EA is going to close down SWTOR they're not going to tell anyone until the very last second so they can milk it for everything they can..
  14. As if it's not hard enough to kill, what Bioware needs to do is remove all the Defensive abilities, the only class that should have lots of Defensive abilities are PURE tanks.... As it is now you have DPS classes and Healers being able to face tank for quite awhile because of all these defensive abilities which makes PVP BORING.
  15. Your always going to get people who get clobbered by another class calling out for nerfs just like your going to get people who play the FOTM class saying they don't need nerfs when they know it really does... Bottom line, the fault lies with Bioware because they suck at balancing a game. Instead of really small tweaks to try and balance the various classes they do these huge changes that can make a class really OP or it can go the other way and make the class useless. These developers are just really bad at what they do. You figure by now EA is just running a skeleton crew on SWTOR so we probably have all the flunkies working on this game... IMO the direction this game has been going the last 3 years has been disastrous...
