  1. Stop using logic and reason. You're ruining the incessant whining for the rest of us. Seriously, they delay to make sure things are the way they want it and people get up in arms. If they release and things don't work the way people want then "Bioware doesn't care!" and they get up in arms. This is the very definition of "damned if you do, damned if you don't." "They HAD to have known!" Oh, really? Maybe they thought they could have everything done in time and didn't want to push it off unless they were absolutely sure it was necessary. What would us knowing any sooner actually have done anyway? Given you an extra week to tell the people working on the game how much lack of respect you have for them and the work they do in the most entitled, insulting way possible? You're certainly all doing a great job with last minute notice. I don't know why I'm even bothering posting this.
  2. Wow... He mentioned using cartel coins- doesn't mean it'll ONLY be cartel coins. I'm willing to bet you'll have the option of using cartel coins or you can use credits after a certain legacy level, ala Legacy unlocks. However, lets assume it is something that you can only buy on the market, like a consumable. Then it'll be something that people can still buy then put up on GTN for people who don't want to use cartel coins, just like just about every other thing on the market. Can we please take a chill pill and not blow up simple statements in a general update he probably wrote in 5 minutes into something monumental until we get more concrete details? The man shouldn't need three editors and a lawyer present every time he writes a quick statement to the fans. Aaaaaaand let the flaming commence!
  3. Its not that Bioware doesn't care, it's just you don't know what you're talking about. If they waited to launch the game until every bug was fixed they'd never launch. Period. Fix one bug two more may crop up as a result of what you changed because everything is connected. It takes time, and despite what many children and ignorant adults on these forums may think, Bioware doesn't have an endless supply of time and money they can just piss away without having a return on their investment. They're working on fixing things. It's not like the game is unplayable. In fact, a majority seem to be a having a lot of fun with it. Unfortunately the minority, like in most cases, is extremely vocal and have nothing better to do with their time but troll. Constructive criticism is one thing, and is what these forums are for. Incessant b*tching is another. If you're that unhappy go do something else for a while.
  4. An open message to those with concerns: If you have a magic wand that automatically fixes things please let Bioware know. I'm sure they would be happy for the help. If not please realize that fixes take time and can be a huge pain in the arse. For every one thing that they adjust to address a problem two more may crop up as a result that they have to address etc. I'd rather have them more focused on fixing the problems than constantly monitoring and posting here to appease the inpatient people who expect things they want addressed to be fixed NOW. I'm not a fanboy or Bioware apologist or anything, it's just that a lot of people's expectations are just plain unreasonable and it's obvious that many have no idea just how much goes into making/fixing a game like this. After reading the same complaints in every thread it just gets tiring. It's not like we're not getting any feedback or any support at all. Its not like the game is unplayable. Relax.
  5. How is it nonsensical? Families can't join different sides? This is Star Wars, families being split between factions is a large part of the story on multiple levels. Plus it's an RPG. Giving players choice to spin their own backstory as to why one member of a family is a Jedi in the Republic and the other went to the Sith is part and parcel of what this game is supposed to be about- letting people live out their SW fantasies. Not everyone- nor I'd venture to say even the majority- that plays this game is all about PvP and twinking etc. If you are more power to you. Play how you want. Even so, who's to say that Bioware won't allow you to link current alts when this new system is implemented? We don't have enough information right now to really do much but speculate. tl;dr: Splitting of families across factions is a large part of SW lore and always has been, so it's not nonsensical at all. Arguing or complaining about a feature that we have little information about is kinda silly at this early stage without more solid information to go on.
  6. Yeah that'd be a big plus for me. That's the biggest thing about the UI I don't like right now.
  7. Actually, it has been addressed. Several times. Today. Check the Dev Tracker. They're working on it. It takes more time than just 24 hours. Chill the freak out.
  8. "This attitude is awful. You should want as many people playing an MMO as possible. If everyone who was unhappy with things left, the game would remain in the state it is today. And who wants to play an MMO alone? The "if you don't like it, leave" mentality some people have is ridiculous." Allow me to clarify: being unhappy about things that need to be fixed or that are frustrating is understandable. There's certainly things I'd like to see improved upon myself. Where I have a problem is with the people who do nothing but whine, complain, and rant and then when issues are being addressed, they whine complain and rant even more or bash the people who are working hard on this stuff because it isn't being done and ready according to their timetable (which means NOW). That's ridiculous and offers nothing meaningful to the community of players or the game itself. They're the same people that are a pain in the arse to play with and make playing the game solo that much more appealing. So yes, in those cases (few, yet vocal though they might be), which is who I was addressing, I think "if you're that unhappy then do us a favor and leave" is a perfectly acceptable attitude to have because they'll never be happy.
  9. "I can't wait until tomorrow when the complainers' free sub time runs out and the ragequitters finally cancel so the rest of us can enjoy this really cool stuff coming up!!!" Agreed. The game is massive and all things considered they've done an amazing job. Is it perfect? Of course not. But at least they're trying to address issues and make improvements. Sorry its not fast enough for you or done in the way that you think it should be done. If you're that disappointed in how things are going then do us all a favor and go back to WoW or whatever.
  10. For those still complaining about the video not working press the pause button, then press play again. Worked for me.
