  1. Any word on when these items are coming back? Or what is replacing them? I honestly hadn't realized they were gone until I finally hit Social V and couldn't find the item on vendor. I'm on a low pop server and figured I just hadn't seen it in a while. These items were a lot of fun, and I don't find the arguments against them compelling one bit. Why have all the silly emotes (including three different dances) at all then? /bonk Bioware!
  2. Well, you are forgetting paid transfers. First, they give us free transfers to the servers they have designated. Then, they will allows us to pay $20 (or more) to send any remaining toons to the server of our choice (I'm guessing it will still be limited to the destination servers they've announced). So, it's not over yet - most likely they will do this free stuff for a month or so, then roll out the paid transfers and do that for a while as well. It's not like your server is going to be shut down by the end of June.
  3. Hello, I scanned through several pages and didn't see what I was looking for, so I apologize in advance if this has already been addressed. I seem to be having a bug with Death Field. Instead of giving 1% for each target hit, up to 3 targets, it is just giving me a flat 1% regardless of how many targets are hit. In fact, I can cast Death Field on empty space and get 1% back - no targets hit. Am I missing something? The difference between 1% and 3% health return is small but noticeable, but when it's 2% vs. 6% it will be much more so. I submitted a bug report and got standard "sorry, we're looking into it" response back.
  4. Argh! After 45 levels of healing-specific talents I was ready to add some utility to my build with the last 5 points. I decided on Sedatives, which seemed like a nice way to assist in PvE when I'm one of the primary CCs. Little did I realize it would destroy my ability to solo content! After 45 levels of sleep dart/stealth tactics, suddenly I'm chain pulling huge groups of mobs. It took me about four deaths before I realized it was the debuff that was causing mobs from miles away to come to me and bring all their buddies they saw on the way. This absolutely must be fixed!! I know it's been brought up on this forum before but it's beyond horrible!!
  5. What's sad about this whole argument is that it's not actually based on people's like or dislike of a specific class, but more specifically that they don't find that class effective at endgame. I see so much hate back and forth, but what it boils down to is two common complaints: People don't find the sentinel/marauder to be effective at endgame. People don't find operative effective at endgame (unless healing). This is not a problem with the class. Clearly you leveled to 50 and didn't hate it, or you would have stopped around 15 or 16 and started over. This is a problem with balance and with endgame content. And this is something that will change. As soon as you get your AC switch and flip flop all over the place, Bioware will add new content in which the class you changed from suddenly has an advantage, or they will adjust class abilities to make the "ineffective" class more effective. This has always been the way of MMOs. Regardless, if you've learned anything from other MMOs, it should be this. At endgame, ranged dps are always desired over melee. Classes with healing or tanking specs will always be preferred over those without (unless they are ranged dps). If you roll a class that can't tank, heal, or ranged dps, you should expect to rely on guild groups as you will never be in demand. And that's really what most of these people are complaining about.
  6. Exactly. An operative is a close-range melee-focused stealth character with healing abilities and lots of escape tactics. A sniper is a squishy ranged class who has to decide between dots, aoes, or single target burst damage. There is almost nothing similar about these two classes, even in the way they use shared skills. And try to say that assassin and sorcerer are the "same class," and it's even more ridiculous. Regardless, MMOs need people to roll lots of alts in order to be successful. They would never add a feature allowing people to change classes without having to reroll, or everyone would just have one toon and done. It's in their best interest to force you to have as many alts as possible because alts = play time.
  7. I vote no on this as well. It's like saying you should be able to make a warrior into a paladin in WoW just because you decided you didn't like the warrior playstyle. ACs are not just different skill trees, they are different classes. Not to mention it takes all of three hours to level to 10 on a new toon. Sidenote: If you really have the time to level 16 different toons so you can have every single class on the same server, more power to you, but come on!! 8 slots per server is enough.
  8. Hey all, just wanted to give a shout out for Spectrum, a mid-sized straight-friendly GLBT guild on Dreshdae Cantina. We have a strong regular group of gamers on Empire side in Spectrum Rage, and an alt guild on Republic side, Spectrum Blade. We're mostly all alto-holics and have a strong emphasis on guild grouping, so all of our 40s and 50s have toons in the 10-20 range to group up with newer members. We run flashpoints, do world heroics, have downed a few world bosses, and have regular pvp groups as well. We'll be starting operations by March, as right now we only have about 5 50s, so you can still get in before all the Operations teams are solidified. We're focused on getting to know one another and having fun times together, so if you've felt lost in the crowd in those larger guilds, we may be the place for you! We also pride ourselves on being truly GLBT (with a few straight allies!) and not just GGGG. You can learn more about us on our website http://www.spectrumguild.com (this page covers both WoW and SW:TOR) or on our SW:TOR-specific Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/groups/344952952188786/ You're also welcome to drop in on Dreshdae Cantina, Empire side and send a tell to myself -Kinney- or anyone else you see online.
