I'd like to see SWTOR do well.. The story lines have added something positive to the genre but I find many of the quest givers to be uninspiring. The class quests are extremely well done and I will give credit where it is due. However, the instancing and design of the zones mean that the game seems too disconnected. I've seen less than 10 republic players out on my travels to beat on and that has been a large factor in my interest waning. I perhaps could have stuck it out to see what the end game was like but I've been battling lots of crashes and poor gfx bugs and performance and it has made my whole experience something of a chore. If that isn't bad enough support has been lax and there was a period when the game constantly crashed, and I couldn't play - no reimbursement for that either. So with regret I am out, only 3 days left to play. Re other MMOs.. Secret World looks interesting, and hopefully Funcom has got their act together so it won't be a calamity like AoC was.

My gametime is up in 3 days and I mostly stopped playing due to endless crashes. I've recently played a bit more with the desire to see the story for my character, yes still enduring black screens and computer restarts, but after reaching Voss, I have lost the will to go on, the game has become dull and repetitive. Whilst there have been enjoyable times in game I am generally disappointed. The game might be worth another look when it has matured a little but I have no plans on re-subbing. Since level 20 the game has become rather repetitive, outside class quests which are very good, and its just no fun.. going to kill n amount of this and blah blah in regions that are completely unconnected with a perpetual shortage of players. If this game hadn't been skinned with the Star Wars galaxy it would just be another mediocre mmo. I havent been impressed with the lack of support and being reimbursed for times I couldnt play due to crashes and bugs. Whatever, I'll be wiser next time round.

I must admit.. I am beginning to loose interest in this game because of the bugs and lockups. I have been quite patient but in all honesty at this point am considering quitting. I had mass problems in Taris where the game would freak out my gfx card.. and now I just had the same problem in Balsarvis (what ever the correct spelling is). Its sad because I really wanted this game to succeed. I paid for a 60 day pre paid game card to be able to play the game further after the pre access but even so I think my patience is through. For me the game has become a flop due to bugs and I consider myself lucky so far that the system crashes haven't yet corrupted my windows install. I think I am out at this stage. I hope these issues are resolved and when they are I may play again.

Sounds positive Bioware is taking action. However, I really didnt like the implied threat of 'account action'. You cant punish people for camping others if the game allows it. I also don't like the reference that somehow people are evil dooers and exploiting. If your design lacks taking all of this into account then fix it and stop trying to marginalise your own short-sight Bioware.

You can't find 3 other people to group with and communicate over voice? Its more fun and you dont have to use ESP to work out a strategy.

Well I would like the option to change the legacy name too. The game wouldnt let me continue unless I entered a name at the time and Im not very happy with mine. Surely, this is a very simple bit of coding.

blimey.. i havent reached 50 yet and they are bring out new operations already. I truly wonder why people rush like hell to reach level cap when the game has only just come out. Enjoy the journey.

The graphics engine in this game is in need of optimisation. When I hit alderan I had an awful time with poor performance; many of the issues have been alleviated by not being in that area and didnt seem resolved by reducing the graphics settings. One area that would help all these people with performance issues requires greater options on gfx settings. Draw distances, etc.. Im running a q6600 and an 8800gt with 3 gig of ram and I should be able to run the game with no issues but I do encounter them. That said, I am patient and while some elements of the game are frustrating at the moment if it came to the point where it was unplayable I would un sub too. Best advice if you cant find a positive fix is to unsub and try again in future when they have had time to resolve and improve these issues. Its still a great game.. probably why we are sticking with it warts and all.

I'll pull out the old cray super computer I have lying around and see how that does. Its simply not good enough. The gfx optimisation (yes per zone) is a freaking joke. I can run around in Taris on my 8800gt 2.4ghz q6600 on full and yet the moment i step into Alderan despite having everything set to low the game turns into a steaming turd. I can barely move without constant stutter and endless wait for textures to be rendered. I am forgiving but projecting into the future if by March these issues arent resolved I wont be playing any further. March is the tiem btw that my pre paid gametime card will have expired. I want this game to succeed but how ever they are sorting and rendering the textures is a massive fail. For example.. and I like moving brush but how many trees do you see with huge roots swaying in the wind? Why the F dont we have a preference to reduce the draw distance? PvP turns even high end systems into a slideshow. Im getting angry but still enjoying the game. The longevity of this game is inversely proportional to the amount of time its taking for them to resolve these issues( at least for me). Get the engine working right so I can focus upon the game rather than its flaws.

to the OP: Arena? Why dont we just re brand the game WoW II and be done with it?

I must add that I find all of this extremely disheartening. One of the reasons I quit playing wow was because of the frustrating pvp system. So to see these massive and unfair imbalances combined with the usual argument is turning me off this game rapidly.

Wow! That really is a complete joke. I don't see how anyone could defend this sort of nonsense. Bioware need to resolve ludicrous imbalances like this and fast. My motivation for doing any pvp just dropped through the floor.

During my WoW experience I became really upset with the endless amounts of bots and gold farmers in the game and so I appreciate Biowares efforts to create a fair and balanced game and economy. With game success will come the credit farmers and sellers but I urge Bioware to remain vigilant in their efforts

Well I didn't have time to read all the replies to this thread but I will say that the voice acting and character development in this game are extremely enjoyable. And having just reached level 30 on my sith warrior I was blown away at the quest line involving the jedi padawan.. no spoilers btw. I played WoW and did have some awesome times playing it but it is showing its age now. I doubt WoW is being killed by TOR because Blizzard can create very enjoyable games but in my own experience I found that implementing tools such as dungeon finders and flying mounts meant that it removed the importance of creating relationships which are a key part of an MMO. When you go into the world environment and no one is there because they are all queuing in a city and flexing their epeen on the latest flashy mount it starts becoming less of an mmo and more of a single player game which you are forced to play with strangers who can often have the most arrogant and obnoxious attitudes. I would prefer to loose a bit of convenience and have a world fully populated with players than the alternative. I hope Bioware takes note of these issues because it was one of the huge grievances I had with WoW and I really hope they are mindful of the impact these functions can have. Peace
