  1. $15/mo <<<<<< $60/mo to buy a new game every month. I love how much of this thread assumes the people who are so introverted they solo 100% of the time, would actually care about "showing off". They're introverts! They are here for the unique gameplay, and constant updates. That is all.
  2. I must say, I love all of the random responses to this thread. The topic is a very narrowly defined case, and everyone goes on about random stories. If we're competing for the same mobs, I know exactly what quest you're on. If it's a limited spawn to where we're both slowed down, I'll gladly accept an invite just to finish the quest without tripping over each other. Every case of blind invite will get declined by me, but that's an entirely different scenario. You see the other person fighting you for quest mobs. It's not a blind invite if you know exactly who they are and why they're inviting you.
  3. You have me confused with someone who wants/needs dual spec. I wanted a healer, and rolled a healer. The OP went into his class selection knowing that it only has damage roles. "It's not fair!" isn't a valid excuse.
  4. I'd relate BH merc healing closer to a shaman, and BH merc (Arsenal) to an arcane mage. From what I've tried: Sith Marauder = Fury Warrior (Annihilation) or kinda Arms Warrior (Rage) Sith Sorcerer = Disc Priest (Heal), Ele shaman (Lightning) or Shadow Priest (Madness) BH Mercenary = Resto Shaman (Bodyguard), Arcane Mage (Arsenal) or kinda Ret Pally-ish (Pyro) IA Sniper = Survival Hunter (Engineering) or Marksman Hunter (Marksmanship) IA Operative = Combat Rogue (Distraction?), Resto Druid (Medic) or kinda Unholy DK (Lethality)
  5. If you had any desire to do a role other than damage, why did you pick the AC that can only spec for damage?
  6. Think of it this way, the resource focus/rage deals with your character's external focus/rage related to their enemies. A Jedi gains power by focused anticipation of how combat will unfold. A Sith gains power by directing their anger towards combat. The two recovery abilities deal with redirecting that focus/rage to themselves. Rather than the extrospection required to maintain combat focus, the Jedi uses introspection to heal their wounds. Rather than focusing on furious blows to their enemies, the Sith becomes angry at themselves to recover from damage. Neither ability is about generating more rage or focus. It's about redirecting their existing "force" to another purpose.
  7. Definitely agree. It's easy on my Arsenal Merc to know when my proc comes up. There's a giant swirly graphic on my character. There are no graphics on my Assassin procs though, so I'm forced to take peeks at my buffbar. It's certainly not the end of the world. I was just surprised at the stark difference in proc noticability between the two.
  8. The vast, VAST majority of mobs in WoW are just like in TOR. Completely, 100% immobile. I've also noticed roughly the same max distance in both games for how far a mob will follow you. Is this rose-colored glasses syndrome, or just a desire to rip on TOR? I mean seriously, it's like you didn't play both games... Edit: I've seen quite a lot of wildlife in TOR as well. I'm not sure what you're talking about at all.
  9. They never said they were restarting every 3 hours due to the patch. Many of us have had to restart the game every few hours since release due to memory issues. They were stating that, in addition to their old hassle, they now have terrible performance.
  10. Under Preferences>User Interface, the top box has two options to "Show Your Information" and "Show Target Information". These options include the health text.
  11. The funny thing is though, puzzles, hidden areas, codes and riddles are easy to disseminate online and thus circumvent all challenge. Good 'ol platforming requires you to be able to do the challenge yourself.
  12. That's your issue, right there. Restarting the PC during patching is never a good idea. More than likely, the file that was being patched got corrupted by a restart.
  13. You want server forums. Please, I beg you, stop making new threads about it. If the only reason you went to all of the trouble to make this thread is because there still aren't server forums, you need help. That was the "biggest" reason you listed for how terrible these forums are. It was actually the only reason provided in your synopsis, but whatever. Most of the items I saw in your list are frivolous to me. The issue almost every new large gaming company has with vBulletin boards is the search feature. It eats the servers alive, and this is at least the third company I've seen that has to disable the feature regularly to avoid the whole forum crashing down. You mention the intent of this thread is to let people know what they *could* be having. My question is, since BioWare are the sole deciders of what we *can* have, what purpose does this thread serve other than to incite random uninformed forum posters to respond?
  14. You're playing a stealth melee/skirmish/healer hybrid, and think 30 skills are too much? You cover three separate roles, all at once, with those abilities. I disagree with some of your keybind choices as being necessary for ultimate 100% efficiency (speeder? really?), but even with those you're only at 30 right now.
  15. So much this. Questing on Dromund Kaas, at level 13. I have a few commendations, but not many. I now can choose to either: (a)Buy some level 13 mods now, and hope I have the commendations to buy the level 15 stuff I want later. (b)Buy none of the level 13 items, and have weaker gear for two levels. I'll definitely be able to buy all my level 15 stuff though! It's purely for choice/convenience on what you want to buy, when.
