  1. QFT. SWTOR = Burning Crusade wow. The talent trees are terrible. I was hoping for something based on bioware's hugely awesome customization as seen in KOTOR 1/2 and Mass Effect. Particularly, Mass Effect 3 does this pretty much perfectly. It was a big disappointment to see that bioware missed the memo about filler talents being filler.
  2. QFT. The parameters are based on something some suit and/or game theory/social psych nerd decided would be best to "keep people interested". I've rebelled against the skinner box. I do not run flashpoints, and only raid two nights a week until I can find a new game to move my guild to.
  3. lack of group/guild management has our guild looking for an alternative game to play on off nights. too much frustration and waiting, not enough good times and reward.
  4. Threat meters? I'd settle for target-of-target. But oh wait, that's not in yet and -may- be included in the "miracle patch" 1.2, released conveniently just after the 3 month subscribers hit their re-bill point. The thing bioware needs to understand is that this may be their first game, but for many many of us it isn't - and we know all the blizzard tricks better than they do. I hope they realize that they need to scrap basically everything that came from mythic or burning crusade and build this game into a BioWare game, not some crappy MMO from EA.
  5. The cake is a lie. The RNG system in this game is insanely weighted. Want to test it out? Go run a normal flashpoint by yourself. You'll find that only very, very rarely does gear not for your class drop. In the hardmodes, it's tuned opposite. It's designed to compel you to keep running the content for x number of billing cycles. Ops drop better gear for less effort anyhow. Just run a normal op and you'll probably end up with 2-3 pieces of columi and/or tionese equivalent. bioware totally missed the mark for hardmode flashpoints. too much effort for too little loot. too much difficulty for fresh 50s to do well in them. Too many mechanics for average skilled players to participate effectively (ironfist, anyone?). It really stinks because this was our old off-night activity back in wow, but I won't touch this content with a ten foot pole because it's just not fun.
  6. All of these are items I acquired through questing up to the end of tattooine. All pieces of both sets are orange. I would have taken the screenshot with the major quest reward jedi consular hat, only that there is no major quest reward jedi consular hat, and at that level the safety cat melon helmet is the only one available. There is no orange version of a lower robe to match the vestments.
  7. is truly shocking. SO much more time went into empire than republic. It's ridiculous and obvious. http://imgur.com/H4swy
  8. Midgard, Hibernia, Albion. I DON'T UNDERSTAND how the mythic guys just totally bluescreened when it came to making a successful and fun multi-team game. Three teams is a required element! Just because blizzard did it doesn't mean that blizzard did everything better than everyone. Pvp sucks in wow. The alliance sucks in wow. Stop copying bad ideas from other companies and start revamping and implementing the GOOD ideas that YOUR company has. Seriously. This is a garbage-in, garbage-out problem.
  9. The guy you replace is titled as a Commander. Therefore, Havoc Squad has a commander. After the events on corellia, it's only fitting that the Commander of Havoc Squad be properly promoted to Commander.
  10. Add Keith David and you've got a planet-killer for sure.
  11. Surround sound is a driver thing for the most part. The game itself doesn't have a dolby logo, and hero engine has documented problems with playing back more than 10 sounds at once. To get around this, sounds are bound to rooms in swtor. try pulling some mobs then running through a doorway... your sound will cut out until they come through the door.
  12. The difference? When wow shipped, there was no wow. That's sort of the problem with SWTOR. A lot of us were hoping/expecting bioware to do to mmorpg's what they did to action rpg and turn based rpg before that - innovate, reinvent and redefine a genre. Instead they went the cheapy cheapy route of having a bunch of scrubs who failed at warhammer try yet another copy/paste of wow. Apparently some EA suit, between lines of coke, decided that wow is successful because it uses tiled hotkeys on a 1.5 second global cooldown to regulate combat. Even though lotro, vanguard, star trek, champions, everquest 2, and to a lesser extent rift have all proven this to be untrue. Never should have let the mythic scrubs anywhere near this game. They botched warhammer and ruined daoc. This is the most important game bioware has ever produced, and it looks like a lot of EA crap got rammed down their throats - art in india, coding by mythic. Disappointment is a side effect of hope. Lots of people were hoping for a bioware game, and are now disappointed by a mythic/EA Mumbai game.
  13. You seem to be living in the la-la land that EA will commit more cash than what it has already sunk into this giant boondoggle of a warhammer online clone failure. EA has shown with previous games (Earth and Beyond, anyone?) that they will not continue to blow money on a game that is not profitable. They want an expansion pack every 12 months (in the industry they call this annualized revenue) and a huge customer base. Afterall, if I gave you $300,000,000.00 and you developed swtor... would you be comfortable coming to me and asking for yet more money to finish my product?
  14. Yes, republic is an afterthought. I feel like a giant fail for setting up my guild on that team. I'm not going to ask all of my guys to reroll horde, but yeah the weight of making that decision is crushing at this point. When does planetside 2 ship?
  15. At least your marauders and juggernauts look different. Guardian and Sentinel sets look identical, and your choice of looks is either a pedobear in a bathrobe or some weird sweatpant-clad amateur superhero. The art in this game is terrible for republic side, with the sole exception of trooper gear, which is just copy/paste from the movies with tiny changes to helmets.
