  1. /signed Im thinking of all the other ideas that can come from a guild calendar besides the obvious FP/OPS nights. How about Tuesday, 7:30, Member X is getting people together for conquest PvP. Member X is switching to 9:00 for HM FPs. Each member could sign up for a specific event if they couldn't do both. How about 10+Data cron next Saturday at noon? Or Achievements on Hoth sunday afternoon? I would love to log on and see all the different events a guildie could set up outside of raid nights. Wouldn't it be fun to go out doing something mundane, say HK-51 part hunting, with a group of friends? I really hope BW takes this request seriously because its a great tool to have.
  2. Moved from WOW to SWTOR a week after launch. I remember being very impressed with all the VA and class stories. I remember what my Jedi Sage went through even 3 years after. I cant say the same for any of my WOW characters. One of the best memories from those beginning days was my very first 16 man operation. Watching 8 Jedi flying in to attack and massive droid with troopers and gun slingers laying down massive fight power is something you don't get anywhere else.
  3. Have a good story that relates to new MMO players in this game. I played WOW for years so the transition to SWTOR wasn't at all painful yet it reminded me so much of the early months of vanilla WOW with all the new players. First character I made was a Jedi Sage. I love healing classes. The lay out of a starting planet is almost always the same. Dozens of new characters all running around with terrible looking clothes and little sticks , eager to kill level 1 mobs for progression. Im on Tython killing the Fleshraiders and a Jedi Knight catches my eye. It seems that he is killing one mob, waiting in the same spot till it respawns, then killing it again. I watch this occur and figure he will figure it out on his own. With so many people running around killing fleshraiders and moving on, eventually he will pick up on the obvious. I come back to the main location to cash in quests, upgrade etc , and I see the same poor player killing the same mob. He hasn't moved at all in about 30 mins. I whisper him. Explaining that he needs to kill two types of mobs in order to complete the quest. I get the blank stare. Its the one you get from a new player where the character doesn't move and he is obviously formulating this thoughts on the other side of the keyboard. I wait for about a full 2 mins for a reply. I whisper him again with instructions on HOW to reply to my message. Another 2 mins pass. Finally he spams in general chat that this mobs keep coming back and he doesn't understand why. I do my best to explain that MMO's aren't like many other games. That mobs will always respawn as apart of the world itself. That you need to look at the title of the mob your killing in order to complete the quest. Our conversation goes on for about 20 mins with me doing my best to explain the dynamics of MMO gaming. He seems very interested and asks very good questions so I figure he is getting the hang of it. Finally he asks what the max level a character can reach in the game. At that time it was 50. HE LOSES IT. Out of know where my chat log erupts with a string of swear words and frustrations. I think his direct quote was; "I have to kill a million of these things just to get to 50? F--- This!" He logs off. I look at the clock and its nearly time for me to log off. My first SWTOR experience I was able to get to level 2 and destroy someones night by explaining what an MMO was. Hahaha. Im sure anyone who was been patient with a new player can relate.
  4. Im certain you didn't really my original post. Wasn't crying , wasn't whining , wasn't ************. Rather constructive criticism and legitimate confusion. But if it makes you feel better to generalise so broadly, have at it.
  5. Ah. This post needed a troll. Welcome to the conversation.
  6. What you mentioned is 100% factual. They certainly want us all to slow down progression in terms of the new content and personally, I have issue with that. The only problem is how we actually progress unless we skip Elite comm gear all together and make the long walk to fully outfitted Ultimate gear.
  7. Welcome to 3.0!!! We have all different types of end game content for you to enjoy!! Including 4 HM FP's/ 2 BRAND new operations. All different types of changes to your weekly tactical and classic operations rewards. AWESOME! This is totally what I wanted BW. Thank you! Wait. Something is amiss. The gear that is dropping off all of this content is... not as good as my basic gear 186?? *Cue the all is lost moment ... duh duh duhhhh* On a more serious note, It was very confusing to me and the rest of my guild what direction BW would like us to go for gear/comms progression. Most end game raiders have been fully fitted out in 186 gear from basics. Scrambling to augment so we can get the edge needed for all the new content. Problem is that when we actually down a boss from any of the new 60 HM's, the gear is 178 blue. 178 blue? Huh? It really doesn't make sense to challenge ourselves to the new content without the appropriate rewards. Well, there is the comms you say. Very True. Yet its faster and easier to do OLD content like DF/DP/SnV , and associated HM's for the comm drops. Add on to that fact , the 192 Elite gear seems to lack a substantial upgrade from our 186. Now this is from my experience in the last week. My guilds progression on the new operations is only 2/5 and 1/5 respectfully. Yet the gear drops we have gotten haven't been much better than we have already. I figured that when 3.0 dropped my group finder would be a health list of various weekly, daily options of both tactical and FP's. Then the HM versions of both! And the rewards would be the reflective of those challenges *Elites* Instead of a build up basic comms. So when my guild is done attempting the two new operations , we end up grouping together on old content instead of new in order to achieve ultimate comms. Im more curious about this choice than actually irritated. A clear line to the end game is always been provided in any MMO ive ever played. Including SWTOR. Now it seems very vague on just how we are going to achieve some better gear for some more progress.
  8. The expansion was made with the solo player in mind. Give them some time to flesh it out.
  9. Welcome back! Im also a founder and left when the game was struggling, which would be about 4 months into the launch. I don't blame you one bit for leaving. The major issue at that time was the massive amount of servers that opened at launch and how after the initial month , they slowly became ghost towns. It got so bad that fleet didn't have enough people online to even run a flashpoint. On a Friday night. Reminder to all who came after this point was that BW didn't have a character transfer in place. They did little to reassure us that this option would be in place. Some had to abandon our legacy to start on a more populated server. I left the game because of how poorly that was executed. Yet I always intended to come back once it was fixed. Which I have done and fully support this game with my monthly subscription. I believe the founder title is a little badge of honor reminding people that we played through the worst and largest transitions of the games short history. (Server merges and switch to F2P) Perhaps if you are a founder that NEVER left the game , a new title should be given to you. I survived a BW launch title. Either way, Welcome back Founder. Good to have you back!
  10. Quite right. My experience is that the game is growing and getting better. And I think the new movie is going to be great. What fans and movie lovers should have got in 1999
  11. Your providing mild amusement for me while the patch downloads. Want to share any other injustices BW has committed ?
  12. Why would you post your thoughts on a forum if you didn't want to discuss it? Especially with people that disagree. Ah. I see. You wanted to be consoled over this fake , in game gear catastrophe. *hands a tissue* There there ... There there.
  13. I think that it doesn't matter. It's a game. Nothing more. My replies were directed to your ridiculous exaggeration rather than its content. You done crying?
  14. I would love a forum with more substance and less posture. Wouldn't you?
