  1. So slicing is valuable, but treasure hunting, underworld trading, and investigation are not? It is an answer, but it is one that seems to be devoid of rational thought. As a person who sees little to no value in the crafted gear, and only make mods, enhancements, plates, hilts, and barrels, after all modable gear was one of the largest selling points for me for this game, this change has been a giant pain in the hind sections. For these items there is no use for the majority of artifact grade crafting materials other than slicing and diplomacy in this system, seems to be pretty dumb, crafting pre-kotfe was far better thought out (and it was a terrible crafting system). Why do we need to prop up slicing, its a free credit flow as is, people will take that skill on without forcing additional artificial demand for slicing materials.
  2. Thanks for the update, so really we have no end in site for the frustrations of the broken dev tracker, and codes that are consumed before the page can load for so many of us. I really appreciate the sentiment, and the effort to try to do something for the community while the game is so very broken for so very long. I just wish I was not stuck feeling like a second class customer as my internet or your servers do not give me a chance at a code redemption, and I can't play the game that I was supposed to get early access to for subscribing.
  3. With the lag on the website I doubt many of us who try will get any success at this code lotto. Oh well, just caps off a very frustrating day with SWTOR, congrats to those who can make the website work long enough to get a code to work. BTW the Dev tracker seems completely broken for me right now so even finding the codes in the walls of text that are this thread has become an exercise in frustration. Any chance we might soon have the servers back online so I can put this frustration (can't play the game, can't get a code to work, etc.) behind me.
  4. Marauder, because who doesn't want to be a blender. On a more serious note, are there going to be any real apologies and compensations for what appears to be a pretty serious QA failure cost the paying players hours of paid game time?
  5. How about just an update to the situation, I mean it has been over an hour since there was a sign of a pulse out of Bioware, and they are at 150% of estimated downtime now.
  6. So this four hour patch is turning into a who knows how long patch, much as a three hour tour turned into being stranded on a deserted island turned into a career choice for a few unlucky people some time ago. Did Gilligan ever get off the island? Will Bioware ever get off this update launch? Tune in next week to find out.
  7. How this happened. Dev 1 "Dude its three weeks until we need to launch, has anyone done anything about crafting" Dev 2 "No, dude I thought that was your job man." Dev 1 "Well we have those two college interns that keep bugging us to do something for the game" Dev 2 "Aren't they always stoned." Dev 1 "It's just crafting, not like they can screw it up and sink the game" Dev 2 "You're right its not like it would be the next big raid or something important" Dev 1 "Okay tell them to be creative and bring us something new and different" ...... and then we got this WTH.
  8. You will find somethings are there, somethings are gone, I am seeing about a 33% disappearance rate. Such a dumb move devs.
  9. It is as though the placed all the schematics in a dark park and the ones that got peed upon were the ones we got to keep, so ADHD random. I would say they phoned in the planning for this update to crafting, but it would have to have been a broken phone at best.
  10. Same crap with all the crewskills.... take our credits for recipes that they take away... then take credits for the replacement recipes... #2ndclasssubscriber clearly!
  11. No credit for recipe unlock. No compensation for stolen schematics. Have to rebuy the new schematics. Have to relearn schematics that we had already unlocked (or the new analog there of) Have slicing components in the artifact grade of armorings as a required ingredient now. Have to reorganize storage since there was no rhyme nor reason to how things were thrown in. Really feeling the burn here! Worst thought out crafting update I have ever seen in any game I have ever played!
  12. Currently this is not true for end game... it is currently is true for the entire leveling curve of the game, the part of the game that has any interest to me as I do not find raiding or pvp to be that interesting. I have been gearing new alts and companions all summer long. I get perfectly valid gear for myself that is completely serviceable for all the game activities in which I want to participate now. Since I could not care less about the end game of this game, since there is not much I find fun in this game at that phase, I could not care less about the quality of the end game recipes. That is an addition for other players, since you have to raid or pvp to craft those anyway, and I detest those argument fests. Even if what you are claiming here were true, it would be a huge stretch to get there from the part of the diary you quote to the new blues being better than the old purples, the PVP and Raid oriented players still get to sell their old no longer end tier gear for some credits. There is still a reward for their retired effort, there is no reward for our retired effort here, that is why they should take the time to treat crafters as well as they treat the other pools of players instead of as second class customers, last time I checked we payed the same amount for subscriptions.
  13. If they took away my old tier of gear, and told me I had to re-earn the same grade gear then yes I would demand a refund. When the crystals took a hit they didn't take away my capacity to make crystals. Come on get real there is a huge difference between stuff being added to the game that makes the old stuff less valuable, and stuff being taken away from me with not so much as a thanks for playing all this time. This is not growing the game, this is a reset and a slap in the face. Are the raiders getting their gear progress thrown away? No their gear is getting updated to the new stat system. Are the PVP'ers getting their gear taken away? No their gear is getting updated to the new stat system. Why should crafters be expected to be happy with our recipe unlocks being taken away? Shouldn't they get updated to the new stat system like the raiders and the pvp'ers?
  14. Yet another post that leaves more questions than it answers. My credits spent on recipes that are no longer valid in game, sol or refund? My time, effort, credits, resourses spent unlocking legions of recipes for mods, hilts, armors, enhancements, etc. sol or some reward/benefit? Is it just that you don't want to just come out and say that you guys are hosing over crafters big time in this update?
