  1. That sound's promising but I've been checking out the forums alot looking for viable speccs and so on. And most of them is just hybrids between the tank tree and a dps tree coupled with gear that has dps stats on them. Is it required to play the class that way or can I go all out defense speccwise and gearwise and still be succesfull?

  3. So after starting out as a scoundrel. Space cowboy with a shotgun, can't get more aswesome than that right? Too bad they were duller to play than a paladin back in Vanilla WoW and that say's alot. Decided to reroll, picked a Bounty Hunter and got to lvl 10. Had to decide between Powertech and Mercenary I picked mercenary becouse 2 pistols is just more ****** than 1. Bad choice, sure the damage is nice and all that. But having to spam that gosh darned tracer button (don't deny it, you have to do that more or less) makes me puke. Pyrotech is fine I guess but it feels to me that the tree was designed with powertechs in mind and again it's dull as a mercenary. So I've decided to try a new class again. A tank class. So what are my option's? A heavy armored knight with a weapon resembling an oversized *****? No thanks. Ok next one, a light armoured (lol) dude armed with..... Yet again an oversized *****. And then I saw the vanguard. Heavy armor and a big carbine to shoot people's faces off. That's my kind of class! So with that said I have some questions about end-game pvp. Since pvp is well over 95% of what a generally do in mmo:s. I want to play a tank class not some tank/dps hybrid. Can I go all out defense on gear and talents and still be succesfull in pvp? Don't care if I'm not able to kill someone just aslong as I can guard my teammates, taunt my enemies and be the biggest pain in the *** for anyone stupid enough to try and kill me. If I see the enemy healer I can live with him outhealing my puny dps with his face. But only if I can make his job of keeping his teammates alive a living hell by interupting, stunning, charging, pulling and outliving his dps guards with some support from a friendly healer. So, Vanguards. Is this class for me? Spelling, grammar and so on comes with the price since english is'nt my mother tongue. Have a nice day.
  4. The way I meant it was that both pistol whip and back blast should generate upper hand. meaning more Sucker punches and more consistent dps outside of the burst. It may be op but it's just an idea.
  5. My english skills is'nt as great as I'd want them to be so bear with me guys. When I choosed to play the scoundrel I had no idea that they were an op class. Frankly it was the idea of stealthing, kicking butts with a shotgun and look like a cowboy in space while doing it that hooked me to the class. And I've had tons of fun sofar. I absolutely love the story of the smuggler. BUT as I've progressed in the lvl:s and I'm now nearing 50 (I'm 47 now). I can support those op claims. I can kill even the most heavily armored Juggs and PT:s in a matter of seconds. And after watching pvp movies made by lvl50 Scoundrels and Operatives I can only make the conclussion that the burst only gets worse. So BW has decided to tone down our burst when exiting from stealth. Good thing I say. Killing people in 5secs are starting to get somewhat dull. But that's were the problem comes. Outside those 4-5seconds of fame that we have when we exit stealth I feel the class somewhat lacking. I would'nt say useless but definitly not on par with other classes. We are a one-trick pony and the sustained damage out of stealth is pretty awfull. So by all means! Nerf the burst but please give us something in return. First of, the only option we have when exiting stealth is shoot first. Wich talented stuns the target for 3seconds (1.5 after patch). It's stupid to have our highest damaging move stun the opponent aswell. So my idea is, leave it as a 3second stun BUT make it a seperate ability, seing as the scrapper is a stealthy fighter why not give us more options when exiting stealth? I'd love to be able to alternate between a stun and a high power move. Brings more dynamic to the combat imo. And I would also like to see back blast giving us upper hand. that would give us more potential in out of stealth fighting. As of now the problems is'nt energy management. It's having everything on cooldown and being forced to spam quick shot. That imo is'nt very fun. Being able to sucker punch more often would up our damage outside of stealth but more importantly having something other than quick shot to use once all the cd:s been kicked in. And thirdly, this may be a long shot but I would like to see Cheap Shot being usable on players. That would give us a bursty ability outside of stealth. While retaining a high cd ofc. It would be an ability to use when you've locked down someone at 30% health and you need to finish them off before that sorc lands the big heal wich resets the fight. Oh and if I did'nt make myself clear these changes would probably mean Shoot first being nerfed even more. But that is a fair tradeoff for a better out of stealth fighter. This was just some of my thougts and I would like to hear your oppinions on this. And as I said. My english is'nt that good but I hope I've made myself understandable. Cheers! Cptn.
