  1. Again... is it worth it to switch to a Vanguard or am I fine with Comamndo?
  2. Here is what I have notcied: When I was a Gunnery spec, I would put up some impressive numbers, but my mobility and channeling abilites, made me an easy target If anyone closed the distance. Fighting against Scoundrels and Operatives was the worst because they would interrupt all of my channeling abilites with their stuns which made me particularly useless. As an Assault specialist, I am putting up a lot more higher damage numbers than before, but I am also getting a lot more kills. I literally shred enemies and I haven't met someone yet who can withstand my DOTS, followed by my hard hitting abilties. I am also a lot more mobile and I have gained the ability to kite a lot better. I have been told that Gunnery Commandos were not that great in PVP and everyone has told me to do go Assault Specialist instead, but I also have also heard that Assault specialists have a mucher harder rotation than the Gunnery spec. For Vanguard's I have heard that both Plasmatech, and Tactics are viable in PVP, but I am curious to know if they are better than an Assault Specialist Commando. Is it worth creating a Vanguard or am I fine with my Commando is pretty much what I am asking?
  3. Right now I have a Commando in is low 30s and I am pretty active in PVP. Though I don't have all of my abilities, I am usually the top damage dealer. A lot of people have told me that Commando is pretty bad in high level and ranked PVP, so I have been thinking about creating a Vanguard Plasma tech... does anyone have any experience with any of these? I also looked at an Assualt Specialst guide and I feel like the ratings were a little off... I am am to shred targets, but I also am good at kiting melers. In addition, I feel like I am a good asset to the team because not only can I dish out serious damage, I can also provide minor heals.
  4. You have helped me make my decision. Thank you!
  5. I just want to be the spec that helps my team the most in PVP, has the better survivability and the better DPS.
  6. I've been reading guides and it looks like Sage Telekinetics have better ratings across the board than both Shadow specilizations... why is that? It also looks like the Shadow build to be right now is Serenity, but I could be wrong...
  7. My big concern is that everyone says Shadows/Assasins are OPed... if that is true, I am worried that if I pick Shadow, that they will get nerfed bad and I will have a ruined character.
  8. It is a tough decision... I still haven't decided yet and now I am about to make a decision. Shadows look awesome, but Sages look like they do a lot more damage.... I am really torn.
  9. I made a new Jedi Consular and I can't decide what spec that I want to do. I have played Shadow before and I thought it was cool, but I heard Sages can do some serious damage. What are the pros and cons for both? I have looked at guides, but nothing that compares them in the current state of the game.
  10. I am an avid supporter of this game and even though I think it is a great game, I think there are certain things holding it back from being a truly amazing game. Here is my list of things that Bioware needs to fix... These are bugs, technical issues, or just annoying things in general that really need to be attended to. Sever Lag Its been an issue at launch, maybe Bioware chose the wrong engine for this game, but nontheless there is a massive epidemic in terms of server lag. Most of the time the lag is managable, howver, there are lag spikes on a daily basis. This seems more like a programming issue than anything else and its one of the top problems that needs to be address. Group Finder Queue No matter how you look at it, the group finder queue is broken. Some suggest that there is a glitch in the coding that prevents it from working properly, but whatever it is, it is clear that it is not working as intended. There could be a massive amount of people on, but group finder will still take me an average of 2 hours to find a group which doesn't really make a whole lot of sense when you think of it. Unbalanced mid tier PVP The middle bracket of PVP is extremely unbalanced- before you hit level 30 you are surrounded mostly by similar levels, but when you hit level 30, you are instally grouped with people who are level 59. The whole bracket system really needs a revamp (again), and even though Bioware "supposedly" fixed this, there are still a ton of issues. Higher leveled players have access to better gear, abilites and weapons and it makes it hard to fight against a team primarily comprised of them. Bad loading times Even since launch, the Old Republic has been plagued by long loading times. If this were to be fixed it would make the transition to other planets and PVP a lot better, but as it stands it is pretty brutal. It also seems to be tied into server lag so it doesn't matter if you have a top of the line machine. Most of these problems have been here for a long time and it shocks me that Bioware can just sweep messes like this under the rug and call it a day. If they fixed these problems (especially the lag) maybe we could become a real MMO and get chat bubbles...however, that is a different discussion for a different time though.
  11. Its funny that you say I have a gripe yet you admit there is a problem. I have found moderate success with my Jedi Guardian and I have found moderate success with my Scoundrel. However, my level 30 Commando can really handle his own in PVP. That being said, it is evident that there are balancing issues and saying that there isn't is just being ignorant. We got steamrolled the other day, by a team of Sorcs and I think the had a couple Juggernauts as well. Most of the team was over the level 40 and no one could do any damage to anyone. I got the most kills on my team (10 kills) and I also got the most medals... its situations like this when I know its an unfair fight. Higher levels have access to better weapons, better gear and better abilites and they can also have expertise on many of their items. They can also deal much more damage- I don't remember PVP being so unbalanced at launched...
  12. In MMOs and pretty much every other game, PVP is huge for me and I also know it is important for a lot of other people. So why is it that Bioware still hasn't fixed the middle bracket of PVP? Once you hit level 30, PVP is almost pointless because it is extremely unfair. Having to go up against level 50+ characters who do double the damage you do is never fair. I have gotten steam rolled many times by a team who were all in their 50's, but my teams highest was 39. Are they ever going to fix this or is it going to just get thrown in the junk pile like everything else that is broken? Why is it that Bioware drops the ball so often? This game is great, but its dumb decisions like this that hold it back from being truly amazing.
  13. I 100% agree. The soundtracks are very hit or miss. I don't even think it would take a lot of effor to add some of this stuff to the game. Its up to you Bioware!
  14. Then the developers of this game need to be fired and banned from the industry. Whenever people want something in this game- they give the excuse of lag. Sorry, but I don't buy it when other top level MMOs have more features then we do. Can we get chat bubbles? No because it will create lag. Can we get swoop racing? No because it will create lag. Can we combine the servers so there is just 2 servers for North America (east coast and west coast)? No because it will create lag. Can we get Pazaak, a card game that was in the older KOTOR games? No because we don't feel like it. Either they built the game on a terrible engine, which I doubt, or they are just lazy and don't really care. The reason MMOs like World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy a Realm Reborn are so popular is because the developers give the fans what they want. I have noticed that besides Harbinger, every other server in NA is pretty much a ghost town.
  15. In terms of damage, what does more, a scrapper or a ruffian? Also what is more viable for PVP? I am really digging scroundrel, but I am not getting the damage output that I want in PVP. I don't think there are really that many 3.0 guides that are good.
