If it's WildStar Central I totally concur.

Just for the record I'm a Star Wars fan I was there at midnight release for SWG and I was here at the beginning for ToR through two betas, early release, collector's edition and with the exception of one month I have been subbed since then. With that said I have plenty of constructive criticism for both Star Wars MMO's criticisms that WildStar seems to have capitalized on more so with ToR but, if you were ever wondering why the sandbox philosophy doesn't garner the same popularity as themepark look no further than SWG as the culprit. When my friends and I finally logged on to Flurry (the servers crashed and stayed crashed until sun up during midnight release), but when we did we were in awe! We were actually playing in the galaxy far far away, the community was awesome, the crafting was awesome! For months my fan boy enthusiasm easily overshadowed that the game mostly sucked and after a year of game breaking bugs and almost no content it was confirmed in my mind that it indeed sucked that's' when I bitterly cancelled my sub and uninstalled the game never to return. This all BEFORE the NGE. A couple months later I read an article in either Gamepro or PC gamer magazine that interviewed a senior developer from Blizzard about a little upstart MMO called World of Warcraft based on the lore from they're then better known rts games. In the interview the dev was saying how every developer working on the project had a copy of SWG as an example of what NOT to do in an MMO, Despite my feelings about SWG at the time I thought that was a pretty arrogant and presumptuous statement for a new game that no one had ever played but, fast forward to now and we see that his arrogance was more like a prophesy since sandbox is a niche and themepark reigns supreme. My take has always been that the failure of SWG as a prominent ip (or at least the failure to never realize it's potential), is tied to the niche status of sandbox MMO's. Now the reasons I feel WildStar is more a threat to this current Star Wars MMO as far as I'm concerned is that for the first time in over two years as a die hard Star Wars fan I'm likely to cancel my sub at least until I can play the entire game and make a decision. Other reasons.. - I think the Diablo-esq limited action set will combat flavor of the month rotations and builds. - It's mixes two genres. Star Wars = science/fantasy WildStar = science/wild wild west - 40 man raids - 40 man warplots - x-server matching - more lively seamless world - active on the move combat - path system - adventures - deeper crafting - more challenging content - a custom engine that suits what the developer wants to accomplish long term - robust housing customization - xp rewards for appropriate level open world pvp kills - You can break cc without an ability that has a cooldown - chat bubbles

we want some new planets for us to enjoy and explore !!
Hardwear replied to habalqbalq's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't mind a new original planet that is seamless (no load screens or exhaustion barriers), with different terrains but, I also think they should expand on the planets we already have since persistent worlds that change is supposed to be a staple of MMO's or at least it used to be. The more planets they make the more deserted the old ones become give a us a reason to go back to those planets. -
I'm not really concerned with ESO's effect on ToR at all but, I think since WildStar is much closer to Star Wars in terms of science/fantasy atmosphere it will be much more interesting to watch how our population reacts to it.

Can I trade my GSF early access for a months sub?
Hardwear replied to DarthRaistlin's topic in Galactic Starfighter
Having later access doesn't make it any less free when it does become available for preferred and non-subs. -

Looks great looking forward to this also flight stick control would be great but, I would be satisfied with gamepad controls. Thanx BioWare -
As I've pointed out many times before in other discussions the was capable of day/night cycles even before BioWare modified it but, because of the focus on story they simply made a conscious decision not to include the feature.

J.J Abrams & Lawrence Kasdan Take Over As ‘Star Wars’ Scribes
Hardwear replied to Selorian's topic in STAR WARS Discussion
I can't say that I was happy about Michael Arndt writing the screenplay although he is a good screen writer he could have brought something unique to Star Wars but, I'm extremely happy that Lawrence Kasdan will now be more deeply involved as a co-writer with JJ. Actually it would have been even better just Kasdan as the only screenwriter. -
snip That pretty much sums it up.

snip Despite my feelings about this topic I would have to agree with this especially since implementing day/night cycles interferes with the core snapshot in time storyline feature and at this point counterproductive against all the other things ToR needs and is currently working on. But, I don't agree that day/night cycles and atmospheric conditions is some meaningless feature that no one cares about especially since dead lifeless worlds are one of the criticisms about ToR. My guess is that at least part of the reason why people quickly get bored of the worlds that we have and continually ask for more despite having 20 already is that they have no dynamics which kind of sucks since persistent worlds are often synonymous with MMO's. I think roving merchants, enemies and quest givers as well as day/night cycles, improved atmospheric conditions like these would have brought a lot of immersion to ToR. It would have been pretty epic to have gotten into some wpvp as the sun sets and the clouds roll in with rain and lightning striking in the distance that is the kind of dynamic experiences you can't get from an instance.

Are you waiting for something else to play?

Still having fun with ToR but, looking forward to WildStar, Titanfall and Tom Clancy's The Division now that it has been confirmed for the PC. -
Translation = He's angry that the new xpac is PvP only content and in this irrational (what have you done for me lately), state has come to the conclusion that this FREE content will somehow kill the entire game. ..post fits very well with the screen name

PvP is PvP no matter what genre it happens to be. No matter if it's chess, golf, video games or soccer if there is a human competitor it's PVP.
