Hey, Luna! Been a fan of this thread for a while now, and now that I've re-subbed I can finally convey my appreciation of your excellent writing! Your work is definitely a worthy tribute to the greatness that is Darth Marr. As a side note, I have to say that your description of the darkness at the end of Chapter 9 distinctly reminded me of Kreia's description of the Force: "It is like a cloud, a mist that drifts from living creature to creature, set in motion by currents and eddies. It is the eye of the storm, the passions of all living things turned into energy, into a chorus. It is the rising swell at the end of life, the promise of new territories and new blood, the call of new mysteries in the dark." At any rate, keep up the good work, and I look forward to the next chapter!
  2. I haven't checked this thread in like half a year, and holy hell you're still at it. Domi, I'm impressed. Both at your progress (which judging by your latest post, is considerable) and your sheer tenacity. Other than that, I hope PvP is treating you well, and that you're keeping the faith. It's good to see that this thread is alive and well and still serving as an inspiration to new players who worry about never getting better at PvP. Who knows how many people you've given hope to during all this time? You're doing incredible work maintaining this thread, and I just want to thank you for it.
  3. Holy **** I like you. Would've liked you even better if you replaced "Cross" with "Trigger" and "VIII" with "VI", but nobody's perfect.
  4. "The Emperor is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get." It could be a guy with a brain helmet; it could be a Voss Mystic, or an old man in a temple, or perhaps a purple beam. You could also get an Imperial soldier, a female Jedi, an angry mob, or sometimes just a disembodied voice.
  5. It was pretty damn amazing. Being carefully optimistic here, but it seems like the folks at BioWare meant what they said about putting the emphasis back on story. If they keep this up, the future's looking bright. I mean, this was a hell of a lot of story content in a patch, not an expansion. Musco and the devs also pulled it off perfectly on the stream. I was just casually listening in as they discussed the Choose Your Path stuff, when suddenly, out of nowhere, "Oh by the way, Rise of the Emperor is now on the PTS!" I've never dealt with the PTS before, but I immediately went to read the instructions and sat through like 6 hours of downloading. And it was totally worth it. Well played, Eric I gotta say the writing staff outdid themselves, and I don't mean just in the overall story. I won't go into spoilers, but you know how in most dialogue wheels, option 1 has a unique line for your class? Well, in a lot of the conversations here, all 3 choices are unique per class. It may not be new class missions, but it definitely fleshes out and adds more depth to our characters.
  6. Musco, you finally let your hair down and typed the word 'trolls' without quotation marks! Oh, how I longed for this day.
  7. Tank+DPS is better for casual leveling. Mobs die quickly, and the downtime is minimal. However, if you want to solo heroics, or even some flashpoints, nothing beats tank + healer. This is because while a DPS will obviously do more damage than a tank, the sheer amount of HP that heroic and flashpoint bosses have makes the DPS's advantage immaterial. In order to beat them, you have to outsustain them - and that's where tank + healer shines. You simply mitigate and heal more damage than the boss can do, inevitably winning the fight.
  8. Do you truly not see the irony of making posts like these yet accusing other people of being venomous?
  9. I just want to say we love you, Musco. That's all.
  10. I just don't care enough. Cheapest on the list is cheapest on the list. If I start checking every item I want to buy for a slightly more expensive one to "reward", I'd just be turning the GTN into a longer, more boring experience.
  11. Perhaps, but there's no reason for it. They'll get the same chance for a sale if they undercut by 1 credit or 5000. So why pick the latter and deny themselves profit? So from here on out, you'll take the time to check every item you want to buy on the GTN for a piece that's 1 credit more expensive, all because of me? I'm flattered. But even if you do, it's immaterial, because someone else will always buy mine - so long as it's the cheapest on the list. And so the question remains: why should I possibly undercut by more than that one credit? Why should any augment seller for that matter? There's nothing to lose (the augments will sell regardless), and everything to gain (more credits).
  12. Some undercutting is senseless. Specifically, augments. When it comes to augments, I know they'll always sell, and if someone's looking to buy them, he'll buy whether it's 80k a piece or a 100k a piece. And if not, there will be plenty of others to make up the difference. So when undercutting augments, I always undercut by one single credit. Anything more is a waste of profits. But then someone decides to cut by 5k, then another person does that, and it all goes downhill from there. The sad part is, they aren't just denying profit from the rest of the sellers - they're actually denying profit from themselves. Because undercutting augments isn't about the actual price--it's about who's augments are the cheapest on the list when someone decides to buy. Like I said, if the cheapest on the list is 100k, people will buy it. There's simply no need to undercut it to 95k, then 90k and so on. It's much better to undercut to 99,999.
  13. My personal preference is the Vengeance Juggernaut. Great story, great voice acting for both genders, powerful in PvP yet not one of the "omg overpowered flavor of the month" classes that get all the hate. If you don't mind the hate, though, Hatred Assassin/Serenity Shadow is probably your best bet. Fairly simple to use, and does extremely well in both PvP and PvE.
  14. Fear not, Wicked. Although it was soundly ignored so far, your pun is not lost on me. In all seriousness, though, I don't get all this hype surrounding Vizla's armor. It's just a simple Mandalorian armor. Nothing too special or pretty about it.
  15. Companions don't talk in conversations on Makeb, but they do gain/lose affection. I'm sure you know the drill by now: For Kaliyo, be a jerk. For Vector, be nice For Lokin, be smart For Temple, be loyal For SCORPIO, be a much bigger jerk I'm guessing either the Isotope-5 droid or the Archon. For the former, there's not much advice I can give, as you just need to hit the droid, use two consoles, activate one of the turrets while the lava is pouring, resume hitting the droid, rinse and repeat until it's dead. As for the Archon, I found it's better not to bother with the whole combat mechanic they have going on there. Picking up isotope rods, clicking that electric panel thingy behind the Archon... complete waste of time and HP. Just hit him, and when the refueling droids show up, kill them as fast as possible, then resume hitting the Archon. It's annoying because the refueling droids are only targettable by mouse-clicking, but it's simple and straightforward.
