  2. Prior to patch 5.5 you had to release your mouse click and then click again if you swapped lasers on the T1 Strike. This was a HUGE weakness to the T1 Strike. Back in 2015 there was an entire tread started by a dev titled "Let's Talk about Strike Fighters" in which the weapon swap system ability was discussed as being useless on the T1 Strike. There is a lot information in the 1,012 posts about the T1 Strike weakness.   3. It is not an exploit. This mechanic has been in the game since patch 5.5. Which was just over 2 years ago. Furthermore, we asked Musco to pass on messages to the devs before posting the piledriver build, about 4 months after the patch. -Audson

  6. Here is a cool weapon configuration I figured out and have been working on it since the patch came out. It evolved from a once-in-while burst damage to continual burst damage. Heavy Laser Cannons, Quad Laser Cannons, and Weapon Swap Rotation. Below is a short (1 minute) video showing the build and rotation. https://youtu.be/j022_MKlMcg Narrative of the video: Pile Driver is a burst damage build that utilizes quads and heavies in a specific rotation. In patch 5.5 the primary weapon cannons on the type 1 strike fighter can now be fired holding down left and pressing 1 (weapon swap ability) without having to re-click. This allows you to do a continual barrage of primary weapon damage on your target. What I discovered while doing this weapons swap, is that if you time it correctly you can have a heavy shot and a quad shot fire at nearly the exact same time. This lead to figuring out a specific rotation to get the highest amount of burst damage in the least amount of time. Here is the rotation we figured out: Set your primaries to heavy laser cannon. Fire one heavy shot and then immediately press 1. When you do a heavy and quad will fire at nearly the exact same time. Once the second quad shot fires, swap your weapons again. Continue to press 1 off of cooldown and you will get the maximum burst damage.   8. Power dive will not consume engine power with first upgrade and any engineering crew member with efficient maneuverers passive ability is selected. -Audson
  9. Two 5.5 changes that were not ship related: 1. Distance players need to be around satellites to capture and hold was reduced. 2. Time for a single player to capture a satellite was increased. This has upgraded capturing and holding a satellite to an advanced skill. With the reduced area to maintain a hold on the satellite, your defensive flying has to be so close to the satellite that you barely avoid crashing. Other factors to take into account are the speed buffs to strikes and scouts in F3 powers settings. Prior to 5.5, only the speed ships could make it to a satellite being captured and interrupt the capture in time. Now in the small dominations maps, a strike in F3 can boost from A to C and interrupt a ninja capture. Scouts were able to boost from A to C before, now they can do it faster without a penalty to their weapons or shields. This means players don't have to react as fast to captures in progress, unless there is more than one person capturing the satellite. -Audson
