  1. This forum is full of negativity! I would like to make a few points to change that a little, and maybe some of you would like to post and tell me some positives too, I'd like to read some. I think I will love PvP in SWTOR. It's not yet balanced and it needs tweaking, yellow-damage mitigation is messed up and playing it can be frustrating sometimes. BUT, you know what? The bare bones, skeleton of the PvP system is looking pretty great! Crowd Control: It's in the game! I've played an mmo or two without any, and it really reduces the amount of skill required to play. It needs to be applied in moderation, there is definitely a sweet spot for it, and I think SWTOR seems to be pretty much on that. Diminishing Returns: Keeps CC in check, and they've got a different way of doing it. I've seen a few different posts discussing the merits of this system and how, if you're clever, you can make the most of it. Adds a new dynamic, I like it. All Roles Viable: The system is designed to make all roles viable in PvP. In most other mmos a tank is only useful as a flag carrier really, but I like the way they've implemented protecting people from damage, in a distinctly different way to healing. Healers are great, hybrids show potential and dps (as always) flourish. Abilities: The abilities in this game are great, just the whole design is fantastic really. There may be nothing revolutionary but they've been designed really well I think. The numbers need adjusting, and I can't wait till they are! Will be brilliant. Rewarding Play: They at least have shown they want to reward good play, not just list killing blows. Unfortunately some people do need to things like medals in order to prioritise correctly (and not just farm KBs). Lots more! What are some of the things you're liking about the design? What do you like about your particular class? What things do you want NOT to change?
  2. OR Instead of nerfing biochem why not make the other professions worth it too. Much better solution. Biochem is only "overpowered" because the others are a bit crap.
  3. Great description, thanks! Originally did Naga Shadow hope to eliminate the republic, as he was hungry for more power? Also as of late I've been thinking on whether the dark side really is all that dark. Clearly I'm sure it is supposed to be, but much of it doesn't always seem to be just pure evil. I guess particularly with being Jedis denying being "passionate", and any romance at all. In game on the sith side the dark side choices are always very dark, but on the light side I question whether all the light side choices really are light.
  4. I am fairly unfamiliar with the star wars universe outside of the films. What is the motivation for the sith? What is their ultimate aim? I understand in swtor there is some artistic license as they have ignored the "rule of two", or is the current situation with many sith in keeping with the lore? I am guessing in game they still wish to ultimately rule the universe, but then this confuses me as to why people like Bounty Hunters or Hutts would ever support the Imps in any way, as in a Sith controlled universe they wouldn't have a place. I guess it's just the republic motivation is quite clear, they want peace and freedom. The sith don't want the opposite of that, as they don't just want to blow up every planet they see and perform genocide on every species and destroy the universe. What exactly do they want? Thanks in advance for any replies.
  5. Oh, odd. You must be pretty new to mmos? Because I've played runescape. The pvp in this is definitely better than that. Also played WAR; that was just spamming one/two abilities with zero CC or any skill requiring abilities. I also played AoC which was awful for PvP to begin with, although that did pick up. I also played AION, and if you want to talk about unbalanced PvP due to level/gear, go there. I think you have only played WoW and maybe Rift.
  6. I think the reusable medpacs are fine.
  7. Is your healer friend healing specced? Thought I would check, as when you level it will become progressively harder for him to heal if he is not.
  8. How are you already a proffessional player? There aren't any tournaments and aren't likely to be (not an eSport), did you get sponsored somehow? Kind of like how SK Gaming made a guild, and before that a few WoW guilds had managed sponsors. Or do you just mean stream revenue? What are your typical viewing numbers? Anyway, I had a look at some videos and they look really helpful, thanks for the content!
