This forum is full of negativity! I would like to make a few points to change that a little, and maybe some of you would like to post and tell me some positives too, I'd like to read some.
I think I will love PvP in SWTOR. It's not yet balanced and it needs tweaking, yellow-damage mitigation is messed up and playing it can be frustrating sometimes. BUT, you know what? The bare bones, skeleton of the PvP system is looking pretty great!
Crowd Control: It's in the game! I've played an mmo or two without any, and it really reduces the amount of skill required to play. It needs to be applied in moderation, there is definitely a sweet spot for it, and I think SWTOR seems to be pretty much on that. Diminishing Returns: Keeps CC in check, and they've got a different way of doing it. I've seen a few different posts discussing the merits of this system and how, if you're clever, you can make the most of it. Adds a new dynamic, I like it. All Roles Viable: The system is designed to make all roles viable in PvP. In most other mmos a tank is only useful as a flag carrier really, but I like the way they've implemented protecting people from damage, in a distinctly different way to healing. Healers are great, hybrids show potential and dps (as always) flourish. Abilities: The abilities in this game are great, just the whole design is fantastic really. There may be nothing revolutionary but they've been designed really well I think. The numbers need adjusting, and I can't wait till they are! Will be brilliant. Rewarding Play: They at least have shown they want to reward good play, not just list killing blows. Unfortunately some people do need to things like medals in order to prioritise correctly (and not just farm KBs). Lots more!
What are some of the things you're liking about the design? What do you like about your particular class? What things do you want NOT to change?
