  1. People need to remeber that there are no xserver WZ's so implimenting a bracket system is going to have very serious draw back in the future. Once everyone is lvl 50 then they would just be playing themselves, but what about the occasional lower lvl that wants to PvP. Now he is in extreamly long ques or just never gets to PvP. While it certianly is no fun PvPing against people who out gear you realize that team coordination will more than likely trump gear, its when people are facing premade lvl 50's that the pain train really comes. You now have a coordinated group of players who out gear everyone else and that will always be difficult to beat. I do wish they would impliment in their queing system a measure that attempted to match premades with premades first, even if it ment bumping their position in que up to be matched with another premade. Segregating premade and pug, in my opinion is only going to hurt those who are making premades and lead them to attempting to exploit game mechanics to get their whole team in at the same time. If all the premades claiming they are doing it for competition then maybe bioware could impliment a vs premade option to allow those that really are after the competition and not face roll fun times to que against each other.

    New WZ medal ideas

They should totally add more medals, but the ones they add should be for objectives like holding control points in alderan, moving and scoring in hutball, arming/disarming bombs in void star. Last thing we need are more people zerg festing and not working as a coordinated team to win. Its really irritating when playing hutball and one team works together to score while the other team zergs the middle. Having medals that promote team play would only foster a better community and improve everyones overal gaming experience.
  3. I assure you plenty of people care. There is no need to come into this thread and respond in such a manner. If this does not intrest you move along, we do not as a community need such negativity when we should be working together as a whole to foster constructive communication in order to get items or events implimented into the game that benifit the game as a whole.
  4. I agree for the most part about rewarding players. My thought was PvP should be rewarding enough, however, in todays MMO theamparks i guess people just need their incentives to go out and do the things they claim they are there for. If supplying zones for open world PvP with sieges isn't enough then yes I would fully support providing bonuses like flashpoints, dailies, and operations avalibe to the winners. I still think it should be fairly difficult to cap all of the points. An faction wide bonuses for controlling points should help alot for incentives. I totally agree about balancing and fixing bugs and such currently in the game, I wouldn't expect something like this to be implimented for 4-8 months.
  5. bumping this to get it back on page 1
  6. I want to preface this by saying this thread is for suggestions for open world PvP so please respect other peoples suggestions even if you do not agree. By all means feel free to comment but lets not turn this into a flame war. So my suggestion would be to impliment a world PvP zone or zones with approximatly 10 points to capture total. Ideal maybe 3 zones with 3-3-2 capture points. These zones should be linked via fast transit system that takes defenders and attackers to a "staging area." There needs to be incentives to promote these zones and I would say something like 2% increase to xp, valor gains, and commedation gains faction wide per point controlled. Also PvP rewards in these areas need to be better than those gained from war zones otherwise everyone will continue to just warzone que. Now I'm not saying much better just better and I will leave that to the Dev's to test and determine. There should be no dailies or PvE associated with these zones as to not force players to participate or feel that they must participate. Also there should there should not be better gear avalible for this style of game play. I have always thought PvP should be about the competition and game play not about that shiney carrot infront of me; bioware did not go down this path so I feel all players should have all gear no matter how much time they invest or their skill level avalible to them. If you disagree thats fine thats your choice I just prefer a fair playing field and knowing I am better because of my skill not my gear. In order to address population imbalances there needs to be a bolster system similar to the warzones if not identical and these zones need to be open from the time you get your ship; or level 20 if you want to simplify things. Also there needs to be some form of bolstering for the side with the fewest players. I do not want a system like WoW's where your buff the players or you only let a certian number of people in, that was never any fun. My suggestion would be to make these siege points have defenses that need to be taken down with defensive and offensive assult points. IE, you have to take a gate down with some turrets while defenders use turrets to protect the base. You could then bolster the offensive or defensive points to balance for player imbalances in the zone. Example standard gate has 100k hp and offensive turrets hit for 2k, however, defenders are out numbered 2:1 so the gate now has 150K hp and the offensive turrets hit for like 1500 or something like that. Obviously testing would be required. Once a point has been captured there needs to be a brief lockout of say 10-15 minutes with valor and commedation gains granted based off contribution to the assult or once no activity is present for a few minutes and the bases resets to the defenders. Bioware could go a step futher and impliment some vanity rewards like say one guild takes a point their guild name or colors or something is flown over the base. They could impliment something like you get 10KB's and you can call in an airstrike or something; just fun little bonuses that let other players or guilds stand out among the PvP community. Please feel free to comment away and post any other suggestion you may have; lets keep it civil and have a great conversation and hopefully bioware takes a peek and likes some of our ideas. -Talon
  7. You can turn off your head slot item, however, some armor types have actual hoods which cannot be turned off. Very annoying since i typically always have head slots off and now i have a hood i can't turn off; or stleast couldn't find a way in beta.
