  1. As a Sent I obviously can't guard you but when I'm not killing the opposing teams heals I always try to peel dps off of you guys. If you're low on health when I get there I start with Force Stasis or Awe to give you time to heal yourself and get some distance. But that's me...
  2. It's not a big deal, I just don't think it would be a bad thing if stats were added to ops and flashpoints, even if they only showed yours individually. Could I use a parser? Yes, but my thought was since they can do it for pvp, what would it look like if they did it for pve. I honestly don't think it's as big a deal as others do and I'm certainly not going to unsub if they didn't implement something like it. It was simply a thought.
  3. Sorry, but your post reads as if you think I'm saying it's all about competition. I don't want to download a parser and use it besides, wouldn't that constitute use of 3rd party software which is not allowed as part of the terms and conditions? Second, when you have an op boss on like a 6 minute enrage timer it IS about damage. I don't think you can say they gave it to PVP and not PVE definitively simply because pve isn't a competition. Unless you can show me somewhere that devs posted why pve content doesn't report stats in game.
  4. WHAT? Its not about bragging in an op with the guild I'm in. Its about metrics, seeing how I stack up and what I can do to improve. You assume because I'm interested in stats that I'm not into team work and that is the wrong assumption. We get to see PVP stats so why should high end PVE or flashpoints be any different? The amount of dps, healing, protection that is done is just as important in PVE as it is in PVP. I'm a very team oriented player, even when in warzones I care more about the outcome than my own dps so don't presume to know how I play because you feel like all pvp'ers are selfish.
  5. It's objective based, how can you really argue with that? If you don't cap or score, you lose, regardless of how much damage you do or 1v1 kills you get. On another note, nodes aren't difficult to defend. Where players, especially newbies, make mistakes is by jumping on enemies as soon as they get there OR by sitting on the platform where the node is. Don't do that, on Alderaan stand at the bottom of the steps, keep your camera wide and call incs as they come and well before they get to you. If your camera is wide enough you can see the node, the enemies middle speeder spawn AND the tunnel entrance. When they get to the node don't freak out, maybe even let them start the cap. At this point you should have already called incs by the numbers so help is on the way. Start your dps and cc the guy so you can survive when help does show. Then kill him... IF IT'S MULTIPLE incs, survivability and interrupt is the name of the game, not kills. As a sentinel I can usually survive more than 20 seconds with 2-3 incs. Let them get to the node, leap, force sweep, force camo, wait... Then defensive cool downs, force stasis one of them, then pop awe near the node. If you've done all of this then your guarded by the force should still be available when you need it and by the time its over your teammates should be there, easily. Defended node. Similar strat applies on Novare and Voidstar... Just how I do it but its been effective time and time again.
  6. It's no different in warzones, everyone gets to see your stats there. I don't think an ops run should be any different necessarily. Besides, if you aren't that good at dps wouldn't you want to know and then maybe be able to improve after seeing stats? For example, the guild I'm in was running a KP HM the other night, I was the least PVE geared person there, we wiped on Karraga a few times and the issue about DPS came up. Now, I hardly ever do ops because I PVP a lot and feel like I play my sentinel really well however, I would've like to known for a fact if my dps was the issue. If it was, then I need to run more PVE stuff to get better gear for ops or maybe tweak my spec a little. Besides, wouldn't you like to know if someone in your op wasn't being as efficient as they could be. Especially if you were able to help them be a better player? I would. Just sayin'...
  7. Would it be possible to add stats to the end of flashpoints and operations? Similar to warzone stats? i think it'd be cool to see how much damage, healing, etc., is done by teammates. If it's too difficult to do as an overall stat for the entire op then how about just for boss fights? Or both, either way would be cool I think. Anyway, just a thought.
  8. The objectives are not a nice distraction. They are what grants you wins or losses. If you focus on killing players instead of defending nodes, interrupting caps, etc. then I hope you and I never queue together because you lack a fundamental trait that is vital to Warzones, situational awareness. You seem so focused on kills that you let nodes get capped or don't clear platforms in huttball and move forward for passing opportunities. Killing other toons is a by product born out of necessity in order to achieve an objective. Besides, if you want to get right down to it, warzones are barely PVP. If you want to solely focus on "killing other toons" then engage in open world PVP. Not to flame BW but PVP in this game is almost a joke, no open world penalties or rewards. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it, but anyone who has played a game where PVP actually matters will tell you, this is barely PVP and I'm on a PVP server...
  9. There is no way to monitor what's RL and what isn't so you'd be affected anyway. I honestly wouldn't be against this idea. I'm simply saying its someone's choice to quit and complaining about quitters won't stop it. A cool down wouldn't be bad. Maybe the length of time is the remaining time left in the warzone when you quit or maybe a standard 5 minute cool down because not all warzones have set times.
  10. The post where you said you can score 6 goals....
  11. In one of your posts before you stated you could score on your own... Regardless, I agree a few good players can turn the tide. I was in a match of huttball the other night where we scored in 30 seconds, maybe less, it was the fastest goal I had ever scored in huttball. The other team responded instantly with a goal of their own. We ended up winning 6-3, our last few goals came toward the end. Even still, we can agree that a clutch moment assumes you have a chance to win or shift the momentum, and good players can usually tell when/if that moment is coming. My problem is with matches that are in progress and getting on a total newb team, ESPECIALLY in huttball. Also, IF I quit a warzone, it's usually a huttball match that we are getting murdered in and usually it's so I can try to finish my daily. But Republic has been playing well lately so it's been much better...
  12. You just admitted you can't score by yourself. If I queue a war zone match that is already losing I'm the one getting screwed. And anyone with some sense of situational awareness can tell if your team is going to be good enough to at least be competitive. If the team is putting up a fight then I'll stick it out, if its full of bad players who don't pass, or work together and we go down by 3 in the first 2 minutes, I'll be leaving because IT'S GOING TO BE A LOSS. You assume that "bad players" are the ones quitting and thats just not the case when I quit. I'm not a bad player and its not about easy wins, its about fair competiton and level playing field. If I am full battlemaster going against someone in recruit, it's neither fair or a level playing field. You wouldn't stay in a match either if you just kept getting the crap kicked out of you and we've all been there. Plus you almost always have one teammate at least on the same page, that makes a difference. The new commendations increase helps with incentive for staying in though.
  13. First of all, you alone won't be scoring ANY goals in huttball... Secondly if you're down by two goals within the first three minutes of the game and your team isn't advancing the ball at all, you are going to lose. I don't have a problem with a competitive game but if we're getting destroyed and I am trying to complete my daily I will not stay in that game, debuff me I don't care. Every time I queue a huttball match I'll quit before the match starts if I must. Besides it'll need to be a pretty heavy debuff to prevent people from quitting.
  14. How did I ruin it for you if I get queued into a huttball match that the Republic is losing 4-0 already? I will not be staying in that match... IF its a competitive (competitive meaning we can at least score a little) match I won't quit but if Republic is just getting dominated, which has been most of my experiences in huttball, then I'll leave. Huttball is really the only thing I will quit out of...
